CheapCaribbean Reviews
CheapCaribbean receives sharply polarized reviews, rated 2.9 out of 5 by 15 shoppers. Negative reviewers report significant issues with accuracy and fairness: customers describe being given misleading information about resort amenities and inclusions, facing unexpected charges, and experiencing difficulty obtaining refunds despite advertised 24-hour cancellation policies. Multiple complaints center on customer service responsiveness and what shoppers perceive as deceptive booking practices, with some customers reporting losses of thousands of dollars. Several reviewers recommend booking directly with hotels and airlines instead.
Positive reviews are present but limited in detail within available feedback. The stark divide in ratings suggests highly inconsistent customer experiences, with roughly equal proportions of reviewers giving the lowest and highest possible ratings. Shoppers considering this service should carefully review cancellation policies in writing before booking and clarify all amenity inclusions in advance.
I'd give them negative stars if I could. Their customer service and how they handle issues is absolutely terrible. When I booked, someone told me I had 24 hours to cancel. The next day I called back well within that window, but suddenly they're saying that the 24-hour policy doesn't apply to certain hotels even though it's advertised all over the site. I wasn't trying to cancel anyway, just switch hotels because it wouldn't work with my husband's health needs. They said they'd email the hotel about a waiver, but three days later I found out they never even sent it to the correct hotel. After six more emails with no reply, I called about 15 times and got told the hotel rejected the waiver and cancellation. When I asked to just cancel the hotel since I won't be there, they said there would be a penalty.
They give you inaccurate information about the resorts just to close the deal. When I booked, they told me transportation was included. Once I got to Aruba, they said that wasn't true. The property doesn't have elevators and feels more like a budget motel. They claimed it was all-inclusive but you actually have to wait for a shuttle to go eat at the restaurants.
Book directly with the hotel and airline instead. You'll have better luck avoiding cancellations and changes, plus the rates are the same or even cheaper when you go straight to the source. When I needed to change our flight, they hit us with a brand penalty charge.
Avoid this company at all costs. We booked a package deal to a resort and were supposed to get vouchers for various activities and services on-site worth several hundred dollars total. When we got there and tried to redeem them at the spa and other locations, we were told we'd have to split them up in ways that would cost us extra money. Nothing in their materials mentioned this requirement. We called the company at least seven times during our stay trying to get answers, and they just hung up on us repeatedly. Completely unprofessional. Some of their phone numbers didn't even work. They refused to fix the problem now that they had our cash. We ended up not using any of the vouchers at all. Do yourself a favor and stay away. You've been warned.
Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. I booked a trip here and the site said multiple times I could cancel for a full refund within 24 hours. I canceled just 3 hours after booking and they told me I couldn't get my money back. I'm down over $9k. What's really infuriating is that both the airline and hotel confirmed their portions are fully refundable within 24 hours according to their policies. Somehow this company is keeping my payment plus collecting the refunds from the airline and hotel too. This is straight up fraud. I'm never using them again and I'm going to pursue every option to recover my funds.
I canceled my trip just four hours after booking and they're still refusing to give back the hotel money even though the trip is months away. This is absolutely unacceptable. The customer service team couldn't care less. Total fraud.
Skip this company. After we booked a flight and hotel package to Costa Rica, they changed the entire itinerary on us. They promised a full refund including travel insurance since they altered what we originally paid for, which came to about $3300. Then nothing. No communication for over a month. Finally they sent an email offering travel credits that were worth way less than our original payment. When I tried calling or emailing back, they just disappeared. This has been a complete nightmare and I really wish I'd done more research before booking.
I had serious doubts before booking with them, but keep in mind that a lot of negative comments come from customers who had to cancel. My solo birthday getaway to Cancun exceeded every expectation! They handled all my flight arrangements, airport pickup and dropoff, plus my lodging. Before they picked me up from the airport, they gave me helpful advice about who to watch out for there. The resort sat right on the beach and you could walk straight out into paradise. They actually called the next morning to see how I was settling in. For my birthday, the hotel surprised me with a complimentary bottle of tequila and a birthday card. Plus there was a foam party by the pool that night which was a blast. Food and drinks were plentiful and the staff was wonderful, although the cuisine wasn't my favorite. Excursions could be booked through the activity center that was right there. I felt so sad leaving because it was hands down my best vacation ever and I did it completely solo! I'm absolutely coming back and booking with them again. I've been telling everyone I know how great they are.
I was really nervous about booking with them at first, but honestly, a lot of the bad reviews come from people who had to cancel their trips. My solo birthday vacation to Cancun was absolutely perfect! They took care of my flights, airport transport, and hotel. They even gave me tips before my pickup about airport hassles I should watch out for. The beachfront resort was stunning, paradise right outside your door. The morning after I arrived, they called to check on me. And for my birthday, the hotel gave me a complimentary bottle of tequila and a sweet note. They even had a pool party that night. The dining and drinks were unlimited and the staff was incredible, though the food wasn't really my taste. They had a booking desk on-site for any activities you wanted to book. This turned out to be the best trip I've ever taken and I was traveling solo! I'm definitely booking with them again and I've already told everyone I know about them.
One of their agents was fantastic. I reached out because a discount code wasn't working and ended up chatting with her for half an hour while we picked out our resort together. She had great suggestions and was super personable, plus she walked us through everything step by step. She asked about our budget, when we wanted to go, and what we preferred for flights, then found us an amazing deal almost immediately!
They charged my account twice for $250 each. When I called, they said it would take 2 to 4 days to process the refund. It's been 20 days and I still haven't seen my money. I keep trying to reach someone but no one answers. This company is dishonest and deceptive. Stay away from them.
I've taken three different vacations through this site since 2017 and keep coming back. The platform is super easy to navigate and their team is genuinely friendly and helpful. They really go the extra mile to take care of customers, way better than what I usually see from other travel companies. Not that anyone paid me to say this, but I appreciate the service.
I'd definitely suggest checking out this site for your next beach getaway! They're really user-friendly and straightforward to work with. The resort options available are absolutely incredible, and on top of that, they partner with top-tier hotels and properties.
We booked our Aruba trip through them and everything went smoothly from start to finish. They made the whole experience enjoyable and even offered helpful travel suggestions. The team was quick to respond to any questions and their support was fantastic. I'd recommend them to anyone planning a vacation.
I'm confused why everyone has such awful experiences here. I booked a February trip to Curacao that ended up getting canceled, so I rebooked the same place for July and that got canceled too. Then I switched my destination to Mexico and it worked out fine. Each cancellation notice came at least three weeks ahead and they offered refunds every time. There was one small hiccup where the resort claimed they didn't have my reservation, but one of their representatives followed up and solved it before I even traveled. Sure, I've been on hold at times, but that's just part of it. I've been using them for years and they handled this situation really well.
