What Shoppers Say About Luby’s
Luby's receives consistently negative feedback across all three available reviews, with shoppers reporting significant operational and quality issues. Customers describe missing items from orders, particularly at the Tomball Parkway location in Houston, along with concerns about food quality and portion sizes. One reviewer reported paying over $100 for a gift card in November that never arrived, with no response to multiple attempts to contact the company through email and phone calls.
Beyond fulfillment problems, reviewers express disappointment with the overall dining experience. Complaints include bland food relative to pricing, inflexible staff responses to menu customization requests, and an atmosphere of unspoken restrictions. One long-time customer noted that Luby's was once a destination they looked forward to visiting, suggesting a decline from the chain's historical standards.

Sorted by: Most recentOur family is done with the Tomball Parkway location in Houston for good. Every single order seems to be missing something, and my father has had the Chicken Fried Steak twice now without the gravy. On top of that, it's mostly breading and barely any actual steak. It's disappointing because Luby's used to be somewhere we actually looked forward to eating, but those days are long gone.
I ordered a physical gift card in early November and paid over $100 for it. That was months ago and it never showed up. I've tried reaching out multiple times through email and phone calls with zero response from anyone at the company. There's no tracking information, no follow-up, nothing. I've lost faith in their ability to deliver and would really appreciate getting my money back since I don't plan on giving them another chance.
This restaurant chain is clearly struggling and seems to only care about their oldest customers. The food tastes pretty bland for what they're charging you. What really gets me is all these unspoken rules they have that they don't tell you about upfront. Want red beets on your salad? Good luck. The staff gets genuinely mad when you ask for things outside their secret menu, which is ridiculous. Customer service is basically nonexistent, and if you try leaving feedback on their website, it just disappears into the void. Honestly, go somewhere else.
