When I reached out, Hopper told me they could help but only if I called them, even though I'd already sent seven emails they straight up ignored.
DO NOT USE, THEY OUTRIGHT 'LIE' WHEN YOU HAVE AN ISSUE AND MISLEAD YOU DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS. TERRIBLE OUTFIT, GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR SUPPLIER AND ONLY USE THEM TO GET A PRICE. I've been disputing something for a while and they refused to admit their system had issues even when I sent screenshots. Their only response was a document with terms and conditions that weren't even shown when you go to confirm and pay. They offered me fifty bucks and never acknowledged the real problem with their system, which bothered me way more than the money. Absolutely horrible support. UPDATE: Their response below is more of the same nonsense. They haven't dealt with the actual issue or given any real proof that their system works fine. This whole thing frustrates me more than it should. DO NOT USE TWO MORE EMAILS SENT ASKING TO ACCEPT THEIR OFFER AND STILL NO RESPONSE. PLEASE SETTLE THIS. LATEST UPDATE: Now they're saying everything's resolved and just closed my ticket without paying what they agreed to. UNBELIEVABLE.
The app seems designed to trick you into paying for a non-refundable price lock feature, and you can't see what your total cost actually is until you enter your payment info and go all the way through their booking process, where they tack on extra fees and taxes. I thought I canceled my reservation but lost the lock fee anyway, and they never sent me a confirmation email about it. Update: I toned down some of my complaints and added a star because their support team got back to me quickly and fixed the issue. However, this is the second problem I've had, so I'm uninstalling and won't be coming back.
Customer service here is terrible now. Used to be decent, but honestly it's gotten so bad I'd skip this app entirely. Just find something else.
WATCH OUT before you use this company. Got totally taken advantage of and even paid for travel insurance on top of it. Got given the runaround and got zero support. They claimed we didn't follow their cancellation rules. Said it had to be done through the app, so we did it, but we lost everything! Total RIP OFF!!!
Ended up losing over a thousand dollars because they never actually canceled my booking. They also never paid back what they said they would. By the time I caught the mistake, it was way too late to get my money back.
Booked a hotel through the app the normal way. When I got there, the place wasn't even there anymore. Turns out it had new owners and a different name. I asked if I could at least book somewhere else instead, but they said no. Apparently there was no reservation in their system and they refused to refund me because of their no refund policy. So even though I paid for a hotel that doesn't exist, they kept my money. Basically if they decide to take advantage of you, there's nothing you can do about it.
Got my flights booked at prices way cheaper than other sites and had zero issues. Only downside is they limit you to direct flight options only.
I'm a big fan of Hopper! I've been using them constantly for over six years now and honestly only had one problem the whole time, and they took care of it super fast.
