Sorted by: Most recentI booked flights with BA that were transferred over to them. It was London to Madrid then Madrid to Orlando, and the same on the way back. I made 36 seat reservations for 9 passengers costing £721.98. They charged over £2100 for more than 100 seat reservations without my approval. Getting a refund is basically impossible. The phone staff hang up on you and tell you to file a complaint online instead. I still haven't gotten my money back. I'm over £1400 overdrawn at my bank and they clearly don't care.
I purchased a flexible return ticket from Ecuador for around £1200, with the return portion costing approximately £500. When I cancelled my return flight, Iberia's terms said I'd get a full refund. A month later, they only refunded £40. I've had multiple phone calls where reps told me this was wrong but couldn't tell me what the correct amount should be. Eventually I got an email saying £40 was all I was entitled to. If you're buying a flexible ticket from this airline, definitely take screenshots of each flight's price before you buy, because they might try to underpay you. Having proof of what you paid will help.
I wish I'd checked reviews before booking my husband's flight. I had cheaper options available but chose them because they're the national carrier and I thought that meant quality. So far his flight got cancelled, he was kept waiting for hours before they finally gave him a bus to a mediocre hotel, so he just grabbed a taxi and paid for his own. I'm very upset about my suitcase that went missing on my flight from Doha to Madrid on August 1st. When I landed, they told me it would arrive within a day or two.
