What Shoppers Say About Jameco Electronics
Jameco Electronics receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with a 1.3 rating based on 6 reviews. The most frequently cited problems include receiving defective or counterfeit parts, strict return policies that only offer refurbished replacements rather than refunds, and misleading product images that do not match what arrives. Shoppers also report frustrating payment and account verification processes, including unexpected requests to repay orders and missing promotional discount codes. Customer service issues compound these problems, with reviewers noting unhelpful responses to complaints and payment method limitations. A single three-star review suggests some customers appreciate the ability to find hard-to-locate electronics, but this positive note is heavily outweighed by widespread dissatisfaction across multiple categories of service and product quality.
Multiple reviewers explicitly recommend shopping elsewhere, with comparisons made to Amazon and other retailers as preferable alternatives. The consensus among shoppers is that Jameco Electronics does not deliver on reliability, transparency, or customer support, making it a poor choice for electronics purchases despite its specialized inventory.

Sorted by: Most recentBought some integrated circuits from them for a build project. Both orders contained defective or counterfeit parts. Save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere.
Got a power supply from them and it stopped working after a few weeks. Requested a refund when I ordered a replacement, but they flat out said no. Their policy is they only repair failed units and send back a refurbished version. Really disappointed with how they handled it.
The product images on their site don't match what you actually get. Their return policy is pretty strict too. Amazon is definitely the better choice here.
First time ordering from this company and they sent me an email asking me to pay again through PayPal even though my card was already charged successfully. I let them know I'd already paid, but they insisted on canceling and having me reorder using PayPal for security reasons as a new customer. The problem? My original charge never showed up as a refund, so they wanted me to pay a second time. Really frustrating experience.
Created an account because they had something I needed that was hard to find elsewhere. They advertised a 10% discount on first-time orders, which looked great. I went through the whole process of entering my email to get the code sent to me and set up my order, but nothing showed up in my inbox except a generic welcome message. No discount code, no mention of the deal at all. I canceled and won't be coming back.
Tried ordering from them for the first time as a guest instead of going with the big box retailers. They flagged my order saying my shipping address was new to the account, which makes no sense since I wasn't logged in. They pushed me toward using PayPal when that's not my preference. When I asked about other payment methods, they said I'd have to manually add all 21 items again through a different PayPal option. It was way too complicated. I told them to cancel and the payment is stuck in a hold. Smaller companies should have better customer service if they want to compete. Definitely not impressed with how this went.
