I gotta give props to the stylist here because for what they charge, the quality is outstanding. The stylist I've been seeing has done excellent work every single time I've gone in. I'm older and don't get my hair done super often, but she always manages to fit me in and I appreciate that so much. She's real and down to earth, nothing pretentious like some of those upscale salons. There's another stylist there who did my hair a few weeks back and she was also really good. One time I just walked in while waiting for a friend and grabbed a same-day cut. The stylist did great work but I honestly forgot her name afterward. One thing I really like about this place is you don't have to book weeks in advance like other salons. You can usually get in same day or pretty quick. That's a huge plus for me.

The stylist ignored me the whole time I was there and was loud and rude to everyone around me. Turns out she was the owner, which makes the whole experience even worse.

My stepdad took me to get a haircut and checked me in or whatever. This lady sat me down and just started cutting my hair without even asking me what I wanted. I'm like, hold up, what are you doing? But she kept going. I told her to keep the top long, and well, let's just say I ended up looking like I walked out of a music video from the 90s. So yeah, go there if you want that vibe.

Had a rough experience today at the location near me. They've cut way back on stylists and the place was pretty much empty when I got there. I needed a trim on the back and that's all the stylist did, plus a tiny bit on the sides. The whole thing took 10 minutes tops. But then they charged me for a full haircut even though my hair on top wasn't touched at all. I get that they're dealing with staffing issues, but I'm not coming back.

After dealing with an injury that kept me from getting salon services, I booked an appointment and was really excited about getting a nice cut and color for an upcoming event. Instead, the stylist delivered a chopped-up mess. Another stylist tried to help fix it, but I still walked out disappointed with a look I never wanted. The stylist who messed it up didn't take any responsibility. Management handled it but it felt robotic. My advice is to really verify the stylist knows what they're doing before they start cutting.

The manager clocked me out early even though I spent the whole day handling laundry and covering the phones. I never got paid for any of that time.

Mallory at the Surf City location is a wonderful hairstylist. She's friendly, genuinely cares about her clients, and most importantly, she listens to what you ask for. She adds this nice curl product to my hair and scrunches it to make it look perfect when she's finished. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a good stylist.

When my usual stylist quit, I was worried about trying someone new. Tiffany had tons of great reviews so I decided to give her a shot, but I brought my mother-in-law along since she's retired from doing hair and could give me a professional opinion. We both agreed she did amazing work. Tiffany has over 15 years doing this and you can absolutely tell. My layers are perfect. So grateful for Tiffany.

Went in for highlights and a cut. The colorist absolutely destroyed my hair, and I mean completely ruined it. When she finished cutting, it was super uneven and choppy looking. I was sitting there for 6 hours waiting on her to finish. I walked out crying. The color and cut are honestly the worst I've ever experienced. Now I'm dealing with tons of breakage that'll take forever to grow out because the damage is so bad. Stay far away from this place. Seriously, they will wreck your hair.

I asked again what it would cost and was told the same price. I agreed, but when we checked out, the bill was $43. That wasn't what we were told. When I brought it up, the receptionist insisted it was because of the shampoo, but I had specifically told the stylist we only wanted a haircut. It feels dishonest like they're just trying to squeeze extra money out of customers. I won't be coming back.

I get a wonderful cut and style every time. She's super skilled and has such a great personality. I give her five stars without hesitation.

Back when I first started going to Fantastic Sams, they'd wash your hair, give you a clean razor cut on the neck, and send you out looking sharp all for $18. Now they're charging $25 and honestly, I could've done better work myself with my eyes closed. This was hands down the worst haircut I've had in my entire 70 years, and that's saying something after getting haircuts for seven decades. I mean truly the worst. The whole thing took maybe 4 minutes in the chair. I'm never stepping foot in there again.
