Don't buy from them, bad return policy!!

My husband bought me a pair of leggings for a birthday present. I cut the tags and proceeded to put them on and realized he had order a short in length by mistake so we mailed them back and bought 2 more at the right size. Yes, I understand they have their policies but the fact that I bought 2 more pairs, had to pay more money to send the return back you would think they would accept the return since I was still a customer of theirs, well not anymore!

The worst service from purchase to customer service

The first time I shopped at this store was at a location in the Tampa Mall. The experience was HORRID. I bought items with a 35% discount, and when I went to the register to pay, the cashier was charging me for everything at full price. When I asked if those items were discounted, she said, "THEY'RE NOT DISCOUNTED." I spent over $350 on just a few things. I was sure I had seen signs advertising those items with a 35% discount. When I downloaded the app, I realized I was right. The cashier simply wanted her profit at all costs. After that experience, I started shopping only online, but almost ALWAYS, they send everything separately from one purchase. It's ridiculous. Why do they do that? Every time I contact customer service, they are completely useless. I'm tired of this store's unprofessional behavior.

I placed an online order with…American Eagle/Aerie

I placed an online order with Aerie/American Eagle on September 19th. I had no idea they use Door Dash as the shipper. Today is September 29th and it still hasn’t left the facility! Door Dash said it must be because a “Dasher” isn’t in the area. How long am I supposed to wait for a Dasher to decide to show up? American Eagle/Aerie, please stop using Door Dash!

Dont buy!!! Same experience as another reviewer

Same experience as another reviewer, absolutely archaic customer service, they wont return money for bras that are too big and are SHIPPING them back to me and taking refund back, I haven never had anything like this happen and in 2025 can say I havent seen customer service like this in 20 years. Will never buy again.

Order cancelled with no explanation

I bought an e-gift card and ultimately the order was cancelled with very little explanation. I chatted with customer service who told me that the order was cancelled because I didn’t provide a shipping address. I explained it was an e-gift so a shipping address was needed and I wasn’t asked for one. At that point she had no idea why it was cancelled albeit would escalate it “due to the nature of the issue”. The whole interaction was silly and disappointing. Customer service should be able to determine why an order was cancelled and/or if there is an issue with my account

The worst retail experience I’ve ever…

The worst retail experience I’ve ever had. I’m out £10 and never even received my actual order. They sent me someone’s else order including CONFIDENTIAL info about the other customer, and when I asked them to just send me the pants I ordered and I’d send the wrong ones back, they refused and said the only thing they could do is process a refund and have me place another order. The pants I had ordered originally were now out of stock by this point, and they still wouldn’t do anything to help me. And instead of refunding the full amount I paid plus the shipping for pants I never even received, they gave me a free shipping code to order with, and only gave me back the cost of the jeans and not the shipping. I’m so disappointed. Worst customer service ever. I will not be ordering from the UK American Eagle ever again.

Shady return policy - I’m out $50 because the tag was removed from a bra that didn’t fit. I promise I will NEVER give you another dime. I recommend getting better fitting bras literally anywhere else.

I’m disappointed with how my return has…

I’m disappointed with how my return has been handled. According to American Eagle’s stated return policy, “A full refund to the original form of payment will be issued within 5–7 days after we receive your return.” The timeline for processing has already passed. You received my return, but still have yet to process it, so the refund has yet to be issued. I’m asking American Eagle to honor its publicly advertised return and refund policies. I was told someone would look into this within 24-72 hours but no one did, so I’m taking it into my own hands. This is frustrating. I don’t recommend this place anymore. I’m constantly going back and forth with someone to “help me” and “get back to me”, but no one helps me or gets back to my emails!!!

Terrible customer service

Don't waste your time on this brand. I made an order including some pairs of leggings and a couple of bras and upon receiving it, I immediately noticed that one of the pair of leggings was used. It was stained, the inside label was cut off and only had one of the two outer labels (the ones usually stitched to the garment with size and model name) compared to the other pair I got. I contacted their Europe customer service right away sharing images and got a response fairly quickly, where they apologised and asked me to send over even more pictures, so that they could "share it with their warehouse operations in order to prevent this from happening again in the future". I happily obliged and they disappeared and closed my complaint ticket. I tried contacting them again and again and funnily enough, they would always respond when I made a new complaint, and say they had not received my extra photos and could I please share them, but never actually receive the photos and offer a resolution. Funny how they were receiving some emails from me but not others. Mind you - I started including ALL the photos they requested in my new complaints and they just disappeared. I gave up after about two weeks of this back and forth, but this is probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had when buying items online. I also want to point out that the actual quality of the leggings I purchased (which they sell at full price for over $60) is laughable. They are so so thin, I got a black pair (the one that was at the center of my complaint) which is passable because of the dark color, and a hot pink one that I cannot wear anywhere because they are so thin and so transparent, even with nude underwear underneath you can see through so I absolutely cannot wear them to go to the gym or to do yoga or to leave the house at all, really. What a waste of money! The only silver lining is that I also purchased a wireless bra which is actually super comfortable and supportive, so there's that. Stay away from this brand, especially if you're based in Europe because their customer service is really bad and the quality of the items overall NOT worth the price.

SCAM & LIERS

They are running a SCAM. I returned my items to them on 7th March and till date they have not refunded me. The customer care service is absolutely shit and are lying in every email. My bill total is for GP 116 but the refund amount is 92 GBP. Details below: The full order value as well which was 158.90 (as per the email confirmation which includes free shipping and tax and duty as well as the discount of 68.10One item was cancelled (less GBP 42), the total cost of the order now stands at GBP 116.90. My CC bill statement shows that I paid American Eagle 116.90. Return 1: 5 panties (cost 10 GBP per item, total to be refunded is GBP 50 GBPReturn 2: 1 Sunnier Btra (cost 42 GBP), total to be refund is 42 GBP Both Return Total GBP 92 GBPHowever, as per their refund records (screenshots attached) : AE is refunding me only 64.40 GBP. WHere is the balance refund of GBP 27.60???||Reason provided: Please note that the price you are currently viewing is without any promotion applied. Customer Service Associates!

My friend went I went into Aerie to just look around and when I went to the dressing room to go try some items on my friend was waiting on me and one of your store associate’s walked up to her and said do you need a dressing room meanwhile she said no I’m just waiting on my friend which was me and then the girl said to my friend you wouldn’t fit into any of our clothes anyway….. like what kind of customer service is this sounds like we just hiring people just to hire! People have no common courtesy whatsoever and I would like to talk with a manager or have a reply because this is unacceptable and if this does not get taken care of I will call corporate!

Bad associates in good stores

I had some clothes that were gifted to me that didn’t fit or that I would have never worn. I returned the items for store merchandise credit due to them being gifts I was fine and prepared for that. I was issued the merchandise credit card and within 10 mins or less of the card being activated I had dropped it somewhere in the store. There was a certain associate that kept watching me. I immediately went to the lady who issued the gift card and asked her if she could deactivate the card and issue another one she called a manager over. The lady said sure there’s no problem with that. We know she didn’t leave the store so if we find it we’ll just throw it away. Immediately the lady who had been watching me the entire time I’d been in the store approached the desk and said no, no we can’t do that. I felt like maybe she saw me drop the card, something and had plans to use my card but I immediately called corporate and the next am they had mysteriously found my card hmmmm…I don’t believe in coincidences. Only incidences. This associate should be fired in my opinion because originally when I told her that I’d lost the cards she stated that she could help me look for it. Well immediately she broke off from me instead of helping me look for it. She went elsewhere, so she seemed very unconcern about where my card was or if even I found the card but sure as they was gonna issue me another one she had to jump in, so in my opinion, she was doing something grimy and again this is just my opinion, but something needs to be done about that employee because if she’s gonna steal from customersthen who’s to say she’s not stealing from the store

Received vest from American Eagle at…

Received vest from American Eagle at Christmas. Decided to return had receipt for purchase but tag was not on vest. BEWARE American Eagle does not take returns without tag on clothing. I have NEVER been refused a return when I had the cash register receipt. Evidently this is a policy of American Eagle but it is actually just poor customer service and another way to rip off the customer.

Terrible customer service

Truly the worst customer service ever. Firstly, when placing my order I received an error message on their site that there was a technical issue with the website and it hadn’t been processed so I needed to try again. However, the order went through twice, so there was actually no technical error with the first one, and I received two emails saying I had ordered the same product twice! I contacted customer service immediately but they said they couldn’t cancel one of them but I would need to return it when I receive it, despite it being their fault. Not only that but they couldn’t give me assurance that I could return the duplicate order for free but instead I would have to reject it from the carrier- but what if I am not at home when it is delivered?! Secondly I placed my order on 24 June, and was advised delivery is 5-8 working days, with a note that on rare occasions there may be 1 extra day requrired for processing. This makes 9 days maximum. The parcels have not been received. Edit: After chasing them, over 3 weeks have now past since placing my order and I have now received two emails saying that both orders have been lost by their logistics company and I have to wait a further 7 days for a refund to be processed if the packages are not located within the next week. I would definitely never buy from them again or recommend this company to anyone else! Absolutely awful service in every respect.

I was so excited to find that AE now…

I was so excited to find that AE now has women's underwear. I have always bought Victoria's Secret and wanted to make a change. Unfortunately every pair of Aeri undies I bought has fallen apart or has holes after only about 2 months. VC undies last years!! Very disappointed!
