Years back they promised more information would be added to your dog's profile over time, but that never happened. What they actually did was remove features that were already there, then started charging extra for what used to be included. Their support team is useless, either pushing upgrades or basically telling you to deal with it. It's pricey and I seriously regret buying it. Look elsewhere and save your cash.

When you're testing puppies, timing matters because new owners want to understand the health details right away. I sent the samples in just 2 days after the pups were born, but 5 weeks later I still don't have anything back. At $180, you'd expect way better support. There's no phone line that actually works, and emails take days just to get unhelpful replies. Won't go back to them. I'd strongly advise against using this service.

You'd get more accurate information by taking a picture of your dog and asking an AI program to identify the breeds for a hundred bucks saved. The results they gave me have been rejected by everyone I showed them to, including vets, shelter workers, dog trainers, and breed experts. Reactions have ranged from shocked to flat out dismissive. Don't bother spending the money.

Things looked good at first. I got back about 7 to 9 different trace breeds, plus Korean village dog which I already suspected. Then they suddenly wiped all those trace breeds from my dog's profile and replaced everything with 100% Korean village dog, which I know isn't accurate. My dogs clearly show traits of those trace breeds. I tried contacting support but they just insisted this new version is better. Paid $300 and feel completely ripped off. Why wouldn't they give you a paper report or email copy that stays the same? I trusted I could just check the link anytime like they advertise, but that backfired. This feels like a scam.

Really happy with how everything went! The whole process was smooth, from setting up my account to ordering the kit, mailing it back, and looking at the report. The Embark folks communicated really well when I had questions. All around very satisfied.

Hands down the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My package got lost and when I reached out, the staff was rude and totally unhelpful. I never even got my package in the end. Don't bother wasting your money or time here.

My dog had a blood work issue that showed a bleeding disorder, and we were told to get a DNA test. The condition is usually seen in Spaniels, but I have an Akita, and research indicated the variants were different and unrelated. Sure enough, Embark's test came back negative for it. Sadly, my dog passed away at just 21 months. The support team was unhelpful and caused delays in getting answers about her condition. My vet wanted to do the testing too but had their own fees. When the results came back and I tried sharing them through the website, my vet couldn't access them. Support didn't help resolve this, and the delays in getting information meant we lost precious time that could have helped her. She had an emergency and died from brain bleeding. These tests can be useful tools, but when you can't access the information quickly enough or get timely answers, it can have serious consequences.

Total scam. My results say village dog when I know my pup is part Beagle. It seems like they just throw everything into that category and call it science. The health portion is also useless, giving vague results that don't connect to the detailed questionnaire you fill out when you activate the kit. Complete waste of money and a frustrating experience. Embark keeps hyping things up in their marketing and update emails but doesn't deliver.

I decided to try their Age Test to find out around when my rescue was born, but it turned out to be a total waste of money. After waiting 2 months, the results were completely nonsensical. According to Embark, my dog is only 7 months old and was born after I brought her home. That makes no sense since she was already a young adult when I adopted her, which my vet confirmed. The Age Test results are worthless and Embark's support team wasn't helpful at all. I wish I'd listened to other reviews warning about this. Now I'm even questioning whether the Breed Test I got from them is accurate. I won't be recommending them to anyone and will actually advise people to steer clear.

Like others have mentioned here, this feels like a bit of a rip-off. Got back results showing mostly village dog when that's the most common result they seem to give out. A simple Google image search would probably give you better information for free.
