Bought a Maytag Pet Pro combo unit brand new in fall 2024 but didn't use it until mid-2025. Just seven months of actual use and the dryer motor quit working. The full warranty runs twelve months from delivery, so even though I only actually used it for seven months, the fact that I've had it for longer than a year means it dropped to the ten year motor only coverage. That means I pay for labor and the service charge. The tech trip fee was one hundred thirty-nine dollars and labor ran one hundred thirty. On top of that even though the motor was covered, they said I had to buy a new plastic fan that attaches to the motor because it always breaks when removed, and that was another forty-eight dollars. So basically there's no such thing as a free warranty repair even with their so-called ten year warranty on parts. The fan should be covered. I mentioned this to the technician and he actually laughed because the whole thing felt like a scam. Total out of pocket came to three hundred twenty dollars to fix an eight hundred seventy dollar dryer I'd only used for half a year.

Got a washer in early 2023 for around nine hundred dollars. It stopped working so I contacted Maytag. Took eight days before someone came out to tell me the clutch was bad and they'd have to order a part. Then another nine days passed before they showed up again. Never spending that much on a high end washer again. Pick up a three hundred dollar model and you're lucky if it lasts two years.

Don't buy a Maytag washer or dryer. Got a brand new set four years ago and the drum bearings are trashed, needing a thousand dollar replacement. Hands down the worst customer service I've seen. Placed an order more than a month ago and it keeps showing awaiting shipment. Really let down by this purchase. There was an old Maytag dryer in the house that worked great, but when the heater went out I decided to buy new machines for a matching pair. The new dryer takes triple the time to dry clothes. The thing is so flimsy that opening the door throws it out of whack. They also sloped the top for some reason, which causes shaking and my detergent bottle slides right off. The washer at least has a bigger drum. Even the basic model doesn't make sense to use without consulting the manual just to do a rinse and spin cycle. There's something called a casual cycle that means nothing. It's also got that sloped top. I really messed up on this one.

Absolutely crazy experience with Maytag. Brand new washer didn't work so I asked for a refund. They sent another unit instead. Same issue, wouldn't run. These dumb smart machines are a nightmare. Asked for a return and they said let us send a tech first. Then they told me to call a plumber. I paid for that myself. Then another tech came out. Then they said oh wait, your return window already passed because of all the time you spent doing this stuff and paying for the plumber, so that's your problem now. I am absolutely never buying from Maytag again.

I'd give this zero stars if I could!!! Picked a Maytag dishwasher because I thought they were trustworthy with solid warranty coverage. Boy was I wrong.
