Petsmart Canada Savings Hacks
Purchase Petsmart gift cards during promotional periods when bonus cards are offered, then use a separate discount code on top when redeeming them for pet supplies. This approach can maximize savings across two separate transactions.
Check RetailCoupons.com regularly or enable notifications for Petsmart Canada offers to catch time-limited promotions before they expire, especially around seasonal pet care needs.
Use percentage-off codes on larger orders of staple pet food and supplies to leverage better per-unit savings, particularly when stocking up on items with longer shelf lives.
Before applying a code at checkout, verify that your specific pet food brand and product type are eligible, as some promotions exclude premium or specialty lines.

Petsmart Canada Reviews
Petsmart Canada shoppers are deeply divided. Those who praise the retailer highlight exceptional grooming services, particularly citing groomers like Chloe and Dawn at the Okotoks location, along with friendly and knowledgeable staff throughout the store. However, a majority of negative reviews center on online ordering problems and customer service frustrations: price increases on autoship subscriptions without warning, payment processing issues when using US credit cards on the Canadian site, delayed shipments, and nearly impossible phone support with frustrating hold systems.
The most common complaint involves the autoship program, where customers report unexpected price hikes and automatic charges without clear cancellation options. Website functionality and payment barriers for cross-border customers also emerge as persistent issues. While in-store shopping and grooming services receive genuine praise from loyal customers, the online shopping experience and customer support infrastructure appear to be significant pain points that deter repeat business.
The price of cat food jumped way up once I switched to autoship. They just charged my card without any warning or option to cancel first. Really shady business practice. I'm not a customer anymore.
What a disaster. I ordered something online that was supposed to arrive by a certain date so I could bring it to someone in Canada. On the delivery day, it still hadn't shipped. Customer service told me to just order from their Canadian site instead. But that website won't let me pay with my US credit card and billing address. I spent over 5 hours trying to fix this with repeated calls to customer service, and they never even called me back when they said they would. It's ridiculous that I can order from retailers all over the world with my US card, but Petsmart can't figure it out. Really disappointing.
I've been to the Okotoks location multiple times and always have my two Keeshonds groomed there by Chloe. She's fantastic with them. Both of my dogs get nervous about grooming, but Chloe knows how to calm them down and gives them excellent care. The staff throughout the store are friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful whenever I need something. I'd definitely suggest checking out this location if you're looking for quality grooming and a good selection of pet supplies.
We've been visiting the Okotoks location for years. Our previous dogs and now our new puppy have all been groomed by Dawn, and she's absolutely wonderful. We hope she stays there forever. The front desk staff are also really helpful and kind.
This isn't about the store itself, which has always been great, but about trying to reach customer service for online orders. It's nearly impossible to get through on the phone. The hold music mixed with that weird AI voice cutting in every few seconds is incredibly annoying. After sitting on hold for way too long, I just gave up and hung up. I tried again the next day with the same result. Would give zero stars if I could for the phone experience alone.
I've been going to Petsmart since I got my first dog many years ago and the experience has always been fantastic. The staff and customer service are consistently excellent. Whenever I ask for advice or recommendations, they take time to answer my questions and help me out.
I visited a location on October 21st to buy dog food and found a betta fish stuck in an opaque container that you could barely see through. I asked the store manager about it, and they seemed pretty indifferent. When I pointed out that the fish had been sitting unsold for over 4 weeks in that container, the staff member eventually offered a 50% discount without any explanation about the fish's condition. I paid $14 and took it home. Once I opened the lid, I realized the betta had cloudy eye disease in both eyes, was lying motionless on the bottom, and appeared to be blind. I took the fish anyway and am doing everything I can to help it recover, but the way that situation was handled was really troubling.
Be careful if you care about your pets. I brought my dog to their grooming service and she came out with puncture wounds on her neck. The grooming manager made excuses, suggesting maybe it was my cat, even though I don't have one. I had to take my dog to the vet to have her neck shaved and get antibiotics for the infection that developed. I'll never go back to that location. Not ever.
Petsmart advertises a 20% discount on all regular priced items but that's completely misleading. In reality, only select items qualify for the discount. This is straight up false advertising. You've lost my business and I'm sure plenty of others will feel the same way once they find out.
Do yourself and your pet a favor and skip the Whitby location on Victoria Street East. We brought our dog in for a nail trim last Friday and it was a terrible experience. The staff didn't take any time to understand your animal and had a poor attitude throughout. We tried to tell them about our dog's breed mix and they basically told us we were wrong. Their nail trimming process is ridiculous. Imagine having a rope around your neck while standing on ice and you get the idea of what it's like for the dog. Instead of letting the dog get used to the tools, they just pulled out a nail grinder and expected the animal to sit perfectly still. Why would you bring your car to a hardware store for repairs? Apply that same logic here and don't bring your pet to Petsmart for grooming services. Your pet will be much happier.
The customer service has been disappointing. When I complained, I got generic responses that didn't show anyone actually read my messages. I tried multiple times to explain that their website is hard to use when you want to make changes to your order, but nobody seemed to really listen. The store itself is fine with good selection and friendly staff, but customer service matters to me and it's not cutting it. I'm taking my business elsewhere now.
Just took my small dog in for grooming and found out they now charge an extra $12 for brushing, on top of the grooming fee itself. The groomer was nice about it, even gave me a discount code, but my total came to over $125. That's way too much when I can get the same quality work elsewhere for half the price. I won't be back. Petsmart needs to reconsider these charges because I'm sure they're losing customers over this.
My experience with ordering online and picking up in store has been really good. My orders are always ready quickly and everything has been exactly what I ordered.
I bought gift cards online but ran into a major problem trying to use them. The mobile app doesn't have grooming options, so I went to the website to buy cards and then tried to redeem them for grooming the next day. Neither the website nor the app lets you enter a gift card to pay. I called customer service and spoke with a supervisor who actually suggested I just charge the full grooming service to my credit card instead, which made no sense since I already bought gift cards. She said they'd look into it and offered me a $5 coupon if I spend $40, which felt insulting. They transferred me around to different departments and the store manager refused to really listen to my complaint. When I asked for a head office contact, she said they don't have one available. Bottom line: don't buy gift cards if you plan to use them online because the system doesn't support it. This corporation has a terrible website.
