What Shoppers Say About bareMinerals
bareMinerals receives polarized feedback, with shoppers divided between strong loyalty and significant dissatisfaction. The 21 reviews averaging 2.2 out of 5 reveal that some customers praise specific products like the Prime Time foundation primer for transforming their makeup routine. However, the majority of reviewers express frustration with recent product reformulations that they feel have not been improvements, particularly regarding shade matching and foundation formulas that now appear cakey or too thick for mature skin. Several shoppers report quality control issues, including sticky bronzer cases and conflicting ingredient lists between the official website and other retailers, raising concerns about product consistency and transparency.
Common complaints center on the brand's apparent shift in marketing focus toward younger consumers and reformulated products that no longer meet long-time customers' needs. Multiple reviewers note difficulty connecting with new shade versions after using the original formulations for years. Customer service experiences are mixed, with some feeling dismissed when reporting problems. The drastic rating split (62 percent one-star, 24 percent five-star) suggests that while a dedicated subset of customers remain enthusiastic about certain products, a substantial portion of recent shoppers have encountered disappointment with reformulations, product performance, or reliability.

Sorted by: Most recentI placed an order in late November because the physical locations kept running low on stock. The first shipment went out right when Royal Mail started a strike, so after waiting over two weeks I asked for either a replacement sent via different carrier or my money back. They sent another package through Royal Mail during yet another strike situation. I'm done ordering online and plan to request a full refund
Ordering from the Bareminerals website was a nightmare start to finish. My order took a full month to arrive. Finding the tracking info in their confirmation email was harder than it should have been, and the tracking itself was slow and gave me inaccurate updates. When everything finally showed up, the products weren't right for me so I wanted to return them. I emailed customer service but haven't gotten a single response. They make it seem like returns would be super easy, but that's clearly not the case. Just buy from Ulta or Sephora instead
Had an awful experience with their online support. The agent kept saying the system was down and told me to call back in a couple days. The person was really hard to understand with a thick accent. I have a gift card and wanted to check the balance, gave them the card number, but they were completely unhelpful. Frustrated customer here
Navigating their website is frustrating and glitchy. Plus they're perpetually out of stock on items I'm looking for. I actually like the makeup itself, but I'm not going back to shop their site
Really let down by the bare minerals foundation I purchased. It makes my skin look shiny and leaves white residue that sits around my eyes and hairline. I also bought their brush to go with it. Spent a lot of money on this and honestly other foundations from the high street work better and cost way less. Not satisfied
What's happening with this brand lately? I can't find the shades I use either in stores or on their website, everything keeps showing as sold out. I've waited weeks for restocking but nothing comes back. Even at Ulta where they used to have a pretty good selection, the space has shrunk to basically half an aisle and most items are gone. Looks like I need to switch to something else
Never planned to be a customer, but I went to a store to grab a gift card for a friend. The associate said she needed my email to process the transaction and somehow I ended up enrolled in their rewards program without my consent. I started getting bombarded with rewards updates in my inbox. There's supposedly a way to unsubscribe, so I tried reaching out several times over the past year asking them to remove my account and stop the emails since I never agreed to join. They keep saying they'll handle it, but nothing changes and the emails keep coming. Based on how they've handled this situation, I won't be shopping with them
The unclaimed product has worked wonderfully for me and my skin feels fantastic in it. Unfortunately, lately I'm having a hard time getting their powder foundation back in stock whenever I need to repurchase
I discovered bareMinerals back in high school and never looked back. It was the only foundation that worked for my skin without clogging pores or triggering breakouts. I've been a faithful customer ever since and continue to use it
