What Shoppers Say About CultureFly
CultureFly receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 25 reviews averaging 1.8 out of 5. The most common complaints center on poor customer service, including slow email responses (sometimes taking days or weeks), lack of phone support, and an unwillingness to resolve issues such as damaged items, defective products, or billing errors. Shoppers report receiving damaged merchandise, items that never arrive, failed attempts to cancel orders, and unauthorized charges that persist. A small segment of satisfied customers (16 percent) praise past sales and earlier subscription boxes, though even these reviewers note quality declined over time and shipments frequently arrived late.
The company's inability or unwillingness to stand behind its products or quickly address customer problems represents the primary barrier to recommitment. Reviewers consistently note that CultureFly lacks basic customer service infrastructure, such as a phone number to call, and that email inquiries receive responses after multiple days or not at all. Several shoppers describe feeling dismissed or blamed for product defects rather than supported, which has damaged trust significantly. Even subscription box customers who had been loyal for years report cancellations and refusal to honor advertised discounts, leading to chargebacks and complaints filed with payment processors.

Sorted by: Most recentI really loved the Ladybug boxes but then I moved and gave CultureFly two months advance notice. I updated my shipping address on my account in the subscription management section. Two months later they shipped to my old address anyway. I contacted them right away and they said the label was already printed and refused to print a new one even though it was their mistake. I filed a BBB complaint after that. They lost a loyal customer because they're disorganized and have terrible customer service.
The first Star Wars box took months to arrive. CultureFly blamed the LA port and sent a mass email to everyone, but that email came two months after I started trying to reach customer service. For two months I couldn't get an answer until I threatened to dispute the charge with my card company. When I finally got the first box for fifty bucks, it was decent enough. The second box I got today though and I'm pretty disappointed. The prints are super cheap quality, everything skews masculine, and a lot of designs are just references to Star Wars toys. I'd return everything for a refund in a heartbeat if they allowed it, which they don't. I tried posting a negative review on their site and it never showed up. Looks like they only display the positive reviews. Total nonsense. I'm canceling my subscription immediately.
I'm honestly shocked by how many bad reviews there are! The only problems I've had are my Supernatural box arriving a month late and the Star Wars one being two months behind. Besides that, I've really loved almost everything inside the boxes I've gotten! I'll keep ordering as long as they keep putting cool unique stuff in them. Thanks culturefly for all the awesome items!
It's strange seeing so many negative reviews because I've had a great experience with this company and their products. Everything arrived as expected and it was really fun to unbox.
I'm honestly baffled by all the negative reviews out there. I really like what this company does and their boxes are great. Got everything I was supposed to and opening them was a blast.
First time ordering from their website and I received the wrong item. I ordered a pink school backpack but got a clear mini backpack with green zippers and a green tassel instead. These are completely different bags, I have no idea how they mixed these up. I emailed them a week ago with my receipt and photos of what I ordered versus what arrived but haven't gotten any response yet.
I'd use negative stars if the system allowed it because this is a total SCAM! Don't fall for it like I did! I paid upfront for a whole year subscription and when I got the first Supernatural box it was nothing but plastic trash, broken items and ripped packaging. I asked for my money back and got a flat NO. Only received two out of four boxes and both were garbage! AVOID THIS SCAM! You might as well throw your cash straight in the trash!
Do not order from this company! I bought the Nick Box over two months ago. I got two emails saying there were shipping delays because of Covid. Somehow everyone else on the planet figured out how to ship things but apparently not them. The last email said it would ship May 17. On May 19 I asked for a refund and they responded saying I'd have tracking info within 48 hours. Surprise surprise, I never got it. May 22 I emailed demanding a full refund saying I didn't want this anymore and that if I didn't hear back in 24 hours I'd contact my bank to reverse the charge. I woke up to no response but an email saying my order shipped. How exactly is it a shipping issue if the problem is YOU and you just shipped it two months late?! When you lie to customers assuming they're stupid, that's insulting. I sent another email explaining this but I doubt I'll hear back.
My husband bought the office box subscription in early March and it still hasn't shipped by the end of May, right before the next subscription launches in June. They keep saying FedEx is short on drivers but I get packages from FedEx all the time from across the country without any delays. No one available to actually talk to, just emails back and forth. They always blame someone else instead of taking responsibility. We're done ordering from them.
