What Shoppers Say About Dancewear.Com
Dancewear.Com receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers citing severe problems across multiple areas. The most consistent complaints involve misleading return policies (advertised as free but require customer-paid shipping), inconsistent sizing that is not documented in product descriptions, rejection of returns on minor or questionable grounds, and long delays or fulfillment issues. Customers report paying significant shipping costs to return items, receiving partial refunds, and experiencing difficulties getting items out of customs. A small portion of reviewers (18 percent) report positive experiences, but they are vastly outnumbered by those describing the return process as prohibitively expensive and the sizing as unreliable.
Beyond returns and sizing, shoppers express frustration with inventory accuracy, unclear sizing labeling (such as XSA and SA instead of standard sizes), and what some describe as misleading product photography. Several customers explicitly recommend shopping elsewhere, including on Amazon or with competing retailers, citing faster delivery and more transparent policies. The combination of restrictive return terms, poor size documentation, and customer service issues has created a pattern of dissatisfaction that dominates recent reviews.

Sorted by: Most recentWould give zero stars if possible. The shoes I got for my daughter were way too small. When I tried to return them, I had to pay for shipping which cost nearly as much as the shoes themselves. They sent back the same pair and rejected the return because the box had been opened. Honestly, just shop on Amazon instead.
Major issues with sizing, customer service, and how returns work. They advertise free returns but that's misleading when you're the one paying shipping and getting back 20% less than what you paid in the first place.
I can't believe they don't cover return shipping themselves. I paid twenty five dollars to mail back shoes I didn't want. When I went to another store and asked about the brand, they told me right away it runs small, but that wasn't mentioned in the product details anywhere.
Would give zero stars if I could. I ordered two pairs of shoes in different sizes and my daughter tried them on for just a few seconds indoors. I attempted to return one pair and they wouldn't accept it, claiming the sole had a stain. But she never actually wore them! For all I know they could have sent me a used pair. This is absolutely ridiculous.
DO NOT ORDER. I placed an order in September and after calling twice was told the items were stuck in customs and would arrive by the end of January, so I cancelled. They gave excuses about stock issues. I ordered the same thing from another company based in the US and received it three days later. This company will feed you stories about being out of stock or items in transit, but don't believe it. Almost every review says the same thing.
This company uses really shady marketing tactics. The pictures they show don't match what's actually in stock, and they intentionally do this to unload clearance items that you can't return. They use photos of kids in leotards to sell adult sizes, and their sizing system is confusing with letters like XSA and SA instead of normal adult sizing. I had no clue XSA meant extra small adult. When the leotard arrived, what I thought was a large child size turned out to be way bigger than my 11-year-old and even too big for me. I reached out explaining the confusion, expecting them to let me return it since the listing was unclear, but they refused because it was clearance. When I tried to explain again with pictures, they basically told me I didn't understand their system. This felt like a total scam to get rid of inventory.
If I could rate lower than one star I would. When your order doesn't fit, you're stuck paying for return shipping out of pocket, which in my case was thirteen dollars. I called customer service and found out my item is being sent back to me because the box got damaged in transit and they can't resell it. So they won't accept my return just because shipping damaged the packaging? This is ridiculous and I'll never use this company or tell anyone else to either.
The footless and stirrup tights I purchased were really disappointing. They're made of super thin nylon and don't hold up well at all for actual dancing. Since they were marked as sale items, I couldn't return them either. You definitely get what you pay for here, and what you're paying for isn't much.
Ordered a costume with overnight shipping and waited nearly a week for it to arrive. Once we didn't need it anymore, I sent it back but only got refunded for the costume itself, not the expedited shipping charge. Feels like a total rip-off.
Ordered some sneakers that are way too small and feel cheap. The shoes weren't pricey to begin with, but now I'm looking at a ten dollar shipping charge plus another fee to send them back. That's too much to ask. The return paperwork is also a hassle - you can't print a fillable form, you have to write it out by hand. Speedy arrival was nice, but that's literally the only good thing here.
