What Shoppers Say About Rykä
Ryka is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the majority expressing significant dissatisfaction. Shoppers consistently report durability issues, with cushioning flattening within weeks and soles wearing out prematurely despite light use. Several customers also note sizing inconsistencies, particularly with width options fitting larger than expected. Beyond product quality, multiple reviewers cite poor customer service experiences, including unresponsive support teams and unclear return procedures that have left customers unable to resolve issues.
While a small portion of shoppers praise the comfort and fit when shoes work as intended, these positive experiences are overshadowed by widespread complaints about quality decline and lack of support. The brand, which shoppers recall as historically reliable, appears to have lost ground in both manufacturing standards and customer service responsiveness. Most dissatisfied customers indicate they would not purchase from Ryka again.

Sorted by: Most recentThe cushioning on the ball of my foot flattened down after less than one month. Ryka used to be a reliable company, especially known for quality designs. I told the staff I was happy enough with the fit that I'd buy another pair. Turns out I won't be back, and I'm not sure a new insole is going to solve my problem. Lost a good option for sure.
Finding the right sneaker is tough because of issues with my feet. These ones feel wonderful to wear, but the bottoms wear out way too fast. I'm already on my fourth or fifth replacement so far this year.
Got myself a Ryka vibrant bootie in size 8.5 wide. These boots are a disaster. The ankle area is way too big, like wearing house slippers. They're huge! I just don't understand why Ryka would make a shoe with these proportions. Really frustrating.
Hands down the worst experience with both their product and their support team. I got some defective shoes and sent them five separate emails over the course of a few weeks. Not one response back, not even until now.
Really wish I had looked at reviews before ordering. I found them on another shopping site with good ratings so went straight to the company's site instead. The shoes got here fairly quickly but they were way too tight to wear. I never heard back from Ryka, and now they're telling me I need a Return Merchandise Authorization number before I can send them back.
I purchased shoes on January 26th. They showed up 10 days later because of a warehouse delay. I tried them out at the gym, putting them on once I got there. First impression was good, comfortable and grippy. Wore them four more times for cross training sessions, always changing back out of them right after, so they've never been outside. This morning I noticed the white tread on the right shoe is coming loose from the sole. This happened after barely five hours of actual wearing time. I checked their policy and I'm within the window to exchange them so I figured I'd try another pair. Then I found out I need to have the original box and the shoes have to look unworn. I didn't expect them to fall apart so I'd already recycled the box. Plus I learned that because I wore them even though they're defective, I have to ship them back at my own expense so they can examine them, which they say takes four to six weeks. Meanwhile I need to go out and buy different training shoes.
I got a pair of Ryka shoes thinking they'd be good for standing and walking around all day. Turns out they hurt right where the top of my foot is. By the second day I was taking them off halfway through and basically walking on my heels because the pain was so bad. My sole was fine but the upper part was killing me. Your shoes need to be comfortable from every angle, not just part of the foot.
I grabbed 12 pairs because someone told me they were great for my disabled son and me, plus they were on sale. When they got here, I didn't realize everything had to be tried within 30 days or you're stuck with it. The second pair I opened turned out to be broken, which was unfortunate since those were supposed to be my outdoor pair. Customer service said I could send them back but at my own cost and with zero promise they'd actually give my money back. I also noticed two pairs came in the wrong color and since that was past 30 days, they wouldn't budge. Now I only buy from companies that actually care about supporting their customers. Their team made it obvious that helping people just isn't their priority. I'm going to let the group that recommended them know about my experience.
Put in an order through the Ryka Canada site. After two weeks went by without any tracking info, I messaged them through their contact form and heard nothing back. I tried again asking them to cancel it. Still no reply. Then I saw the charge on my credit card but the package never arrived. If you're thinking about ordering from them, don't do it.
The way they list prices on that website is totally misleading. You'll see one price, click on a shoe to add it to your cart, and right away the price jumps up. I spent almost an hour trying to shop there and every single time I picked an item the cost would go higher. This kind of tactic seems dishonest to me. Never ended up buying anything. Going back to other retailers instead.
