Both went through without warning. Called to speak with support and was told I'd get my money back since it was their mistake, but I'd need to ship the books back at my own cost. After I returned them, they only gave me a partial refund because several items were digital editions. The representative never mentioned that e-books wouldn't be refunded, only saying it was accidental so I shouldn't be charged. Really disappointed with how this was handled.
Bought the Naturheilpraxis Heute textbook and atlas by Bierbach, 7th edition because it was supposed to work as both a physical and digital book. The book itself is good but the e-book part is a letdown. The code for the e-book didn't work. I contacted support, the publisher, but nothing got resolved. Even after showing proof I paid, I just got wishy-washy responses like 'we'd love to help, however' and then nothing actually helpful. They just kept saying to get a replacement book, which isn't practical at all. Support wasn't willing to actually fix anything. I'm not alone in this either since I found the same complaints on other sites. Digital access matters to a lot of people and this broken functionality plus lousy support would really disappoint them.
Unable to get anything published in their journals because a lot of their editors refuse to process my papers. I've submitted multiple times and they either reject it in like two days saying it 'lacks technical depth' without having read my 30-page document, or it sits with an editor forever while they ignore every message I send. Their automated responses don't understand anything I'm asking and I can't even pull my work to send elsewhere. When you register to publish, you give your background info for diversity reasons, but it's pretty obvious now they only care about the buzzwords, not real fairness. Yeah, I get supporting underrepresented groups, but just ghosting everyone else isn't right. When I ask why my submissions keep getting ignored, I never get any explanation. I'm actually considering trying predatory publishers at this point since they seem more ethical.
Stay away from ordering here, seems like fraud. I bought a book, got an order confirmation, and weeks later it still hasn't shown up. Got a tracking notice via email but couldn't locate my purchase anywhere. Reached out multiple times with no response. Called their line once and the person just wouldn't engage so I hung up. Really frustrated.
UK book supposedly in stock? Support is nowhere near the UK and delivery takes 10 to 15 days. Asked where their support is located and found out they're based in the Philippines. Definitely staying away from this outfit.
I seriously doubt they even read things before sending them back. My manuscript went back and forth multiple times, I ended up missing my deadline, and lots of times I had to fix what they supposedly corrected. I saved screenshots of all their mistakes: they changed 'furthermore' to 'on the other hand' which are completely different terms. They put articles in where they shouldn't go. They turned 'something explored in relation to' into 'something explored with' which totally changes what I meant. They wrote 'making formulating of' which doesn't even make sense. I don't understand how these people feel okay doing this work. Honestly feels like a complete rip-off.
Won't replace a book they sold that has an entire chapter missing from the printing.
Should get zero points. Their support is absolutely the worst I've ever dealt with. Elsevier needs to be embarrassed by this. Every interaction with them wastes your time and money. Just avoid them.
Hands down the worst support I've experienced. The people helping you are either not competent or messing with you on purpose. I ordered two copies of a book and only got one, and now a week in I'm still trying to get the right order sorted. I'm really sorry I went with them. Amazon is so much better and it's not even close.
Bought 2 books straight from their site. The first one showed up pretty fast but I'm still waiting on the second one weeks later. When I reached out for help, they said it had been backordered because it's a print-on-demand title that's only sold through Amazon. Nobody bothered telling me they couldn't actually ship it to me. The listing is still on their website with zero mention that it's Amazon-only. I'm definitely not ordering from them again.
