But apparently our loyalty means nothing to them. We bought a dresser that developed a visible blemish on top shortly after arrival. It was clearly a defect in the finish. An inspector came to our house and instead of standing behind their product, they blamed us. A finish doesn't just fail on its own from normal use. We take good care of our furniture. We ended up agreeing to buy a replacement top on our own dime just to try to close this out. That was back in November. We're now in February. We've called multiple times following up and nobody has returned a single call. We still haven't received the replacement top we already paid for. This goes way beyond customer service problems. It's a breakdown across the board in quality control, accountability, and basic professionalism. They market themselves as a premium furniture company but premium companies don't take your money and disappear.

That was weird since we hadn't even used the table yet. Looking closer, I realized those weren't scratches at all. The veneer was actually cracking from underneath. I called Ethan Allen and they responded quickly, asked for pictures which I sent, and said they'd either send someone to look or just replace the top. Then they told me it looked like water damage. But we haven't had any flooding, roof leaks, or even put anything wet or hot on the table. We hadn't even used it because the cracks in the veneer kept spreading. The wood had a visible break along the edge and that was clearly causing the problem.
A couple weeks ago I had delivery done and it was the same team that had been to my house a few months before. The driver had a really strong marijuana smell coming off him both times. My wife was home the first time, but the second visit I was there and noticed it clearly myself.
