What Shoppers Say About Fire Mountain Gems and Beads
Fire Mountain Gems and Beads has a highly polarized customer base. Shoppers who rate the store five stars praise its extensive product selection, fair pricing (especially during sales), and positive customer service interactions. However, the majority of recent reviews are critical, with customers reporting serious operational issues: unresponsive customer service and ignored emails, orders shipped to wrong addresses, extreme shipping delays lasting months with no follow-up communication, and consistent quality control problems including damaged items, missing pieces, mislabeled quantities, and products that don't meet advertised specifications (undrilled beads, miscalibrated bezels, misshapen items). Several long-time customers note a significant decline in service quality over the past couple of years.
A recurring complaint involves the company's refusal to make order changes or swap defective items despite quality failures on their end. The wholesale pricing is described as unreasonably high relative to actual wholesale rates. While product quality was once acceptable to loyal customers, recent experiences suggest a breakdown in quality assurance and inventory management that undermines confidence in the brand.

Sorted by: Most recentI absolutely love their bead and findings selection. Even simple things like howlite chips show real craftsmanship. The lapis lazuli and other precious stone beads are so beautiful. The quality across the board is just excellent.
Their selection of beads and findings is fantastic. Even the basic stuff like howlite chips is really well made. The lapis lazuli and other semiprecious stone beads are absolutely gorgeous. I'm really impressed with how good everything is.
The shipping costs are pretty steep when going international via that major carrier, but wow it's incredibly fast. My package arrived from Oregon quicker than a regular letter sent locally in the UK would have. They've got lots of specialty beads and findings that are hard to find elsewhere. I'll definitely be ordering from them again.
I've been a regular customer here for years. They have an incredible variety and the service is consistently good. Make sure you're on their email list so you catch their deals, and you'll definitely be satisfied.
I've been shopping here for quite a while now. The selection is amazing and their service is top notch. If you sign up for their email list to catch all the deals and promotions, you'll be really happy with what you find.
If you're not too picky about quality or service, then this might work for you. I started ordering here over a decade ago when I was just getting into beading, and back then it was great because they had this deal where you saved more the more you bought, plus shipping was only five bucks flat. These days though, whenever I place an order maybe once a year for basic stuff that doesn't need to be fancy, I end up regretting it. Their shipping seems to have problems. The pictures on their site don't really match the actual quality. I put in an order early Friday morning and didn't get a shipping notice until Tuesday, saying it would arrive by Thursday night. Well Friday rolled around and nothing showed up. This was a pretty big order too, and I've been a loyal customer for years. Previously I've had tracking say one thing but the package takes almost a week longer. When I asked about it, they said the tracking is only from when it gets to my local post office. That's confusing. Plus nobody seems eager to help out, or they're just not happy to do it. I'm thinking I won't order from them going forward. They're giving off major vibes of a business that's struggling. Though honestly they've been like this for years now.
