Sorted by: Most recentThe special assistance I got when landing from Shanghai was top-notch. From the plane they wheeled me all the way to the parking area and helped me get my bags sorted and find a trolley. Christina was patient, professional and genuinely helpful. I really appreciated her support.
At Gate 46G, we were waiting to board with loads of other flights. The escalators weren't working so we all got packed into what felt like a holding pen. Then they bussed us across the entire airport, which took over 10 minutes. Obviously this made us late getting off the ground.
If you're not from the UK or Europe, get ready for a long wait at immigration. Both times I've arrived here, I've been stuck in line for about an hour because only two officials were checking passports. It's a real hassle and something they need to fix.
Outrageous airport. Charged me £7 just to drop someone off for literally one minute. Not acceptable!
Really let down by this experience. The main frustration was having to pay for long-stay parking and then getting hit with an extra charge from the parking operator just to exit through the drop-off zone to get to the highway. It feels like a setup where both companies profit off travelers trying to leave.
I had a code to retrieve my train tickets from a machine, but when I got in line, the two machines for pre-purchased tickets, the code wouldn't work. Meanwhile the regular ticket lines were packed with people waiting to buy. You really need to allow half an hour just to get a train ticket. The airport needs way more ticket machines. This is honestly embarrassing.
Every person we ran into during our visit was fantastic, approachable and went out of their way to help. The security team showed genuine consideration and the border control agents made sure we got through without any issues. The shop staff we dealt with were all super polite and welcoming. Couldn't have asked for a better airport experience. Hats off to everyone working there!
Wanted to give a shout-out to Jill from World Duty Free's sunglasses department. I'd recently had eye surgery and was heading to a sunny destination, so I needed quality sunglasses with strong UV protection. I looked around for about 10 minutes and asked three different people for advice, but they oddly suggested I check out another shop instead. When Jill approached me, she was totally different. She had a warm, welcoming attitude and really educated me on the UV protection levels of different brands. I ended up getting a beautiful pair of Maui Jims and my spouse got Ray Bans. Jill was so professional and knowledgeable, even working that early shift at 4am. It's unfortunate the other team members nearby weren't as engaged or helpful. Jill, thanks for everything. You made our vacation even better.
I want to highlight the amazing service from an associate named Jill working in the World Duty Free sunglasses section. I'd just had eye surgery and was headed to Greece so I was looking for quality UV protection sunglasses. I spent some time browsing and asked a few staff members for help, but they basically directed me away toward another shop and said they'd have better options. When Jill came over, she was completely different. Her smile was genuine and she took time to explain all the UV features in various brands. I walked away with a great pair of Maui Jims and my husband got Ray Bans. What really impressed me was how polished Jill was even though it was 4 in the morning. The other workers nearby were just chatting and seemed disengaged by comparison. Jill, thank you for being there that morning. You made our whole trip better.
We took a trip in early May and both my husband and I needed extra support getting around the airport. The staff couldn't have been better. In the departures area, we were greeted by Karina who drove us in a buggy to our gate. When it was time to board, she personally wheeled me right up to the aircraft door. She's an amazing example of how special assistance should work. Thanks so much, Karina!
