What Shoppers Say About Hello Bar
Hello Bar is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 10 shoppers, with the majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. Recurring complaints center on poor customer service (slow response times, inattentive support staff), account management problems (difficulty canceling subscriptions, unexpected account closures, continued billing after cancellation), and technical issues (premium features not functioning as advertised). Shoppers describe interactions with staff as combative and dismissive, and characterize the company's cancellation practices as deliberately obstructive.
A small minority of reviewers acknowledged positive aspects, such as straightforward installation. However, these bright spots are vastly outweighed by complaints about hostile customer experiences, unresponsive support channels, feature malfunctions despite paid upgrades, and what several reviewers perceive as deliberately predatory business practices designed to retain customers against their wishes.

Sorted by: Most recentThis establishment brands itself as welcoming and inclusive but my visit proved exactly the opposite. I encountered hostility, aggression, and felt completely unsafe the moment I arrived. A server was combative right from the start, served me drinks with visible attitude, and when I politely asked for another round, he responded with crude and dismissive behavior. When I called him out on it, things escalated fast. He invaded my personal space and became physically threatening in a way that genuinely scared me. This goes beyond poor service. This is hostility in a place that should stand for the opposite values. For a business claiming to be inclusive, patrons should never feel threatened or scared. No excuse for what I went through. I left upset and won't be coming back. I'd caution others, particularly those from the community it claims to serve, that you won't find the safety and respect you deserve here.
The customer service here is absolutely terrible with response times that drag on forever. I had a scheduled call and sent them seven separate emails and heard nothing back.
Installation was super simple, no complaints there. But something weird happened right after I put it on my site. My traffic numbers jumped by 2,000 visits from a sketchy source the very next day according to GA4 analytics. Then I got a message saying my account hit its view limit and they were shutting down my bar. Make of that what you will, but the timing feels awfully suspicious.
I paid for a plan upgrade to check out the premium features. The most basic feature, excluding pop-ups from certain pages, just doesn't work properly. I gave the support person plenty of information to troubleshoot the issue, but they weren't actually reading my full messages. We ended up going in circles with me having to explain the same thing repeatedly in each response. Eventually they gave up and said they had no clue what was wrong. It's a straightforward URL exclusion problem. The product has buggy features and the support is disappointing. Not worth even the basic subscription price based on what I've experienced.
Dealing with this company has been incredibly frustrating. I've attempted to cancel my account multiple times with no luck. They operate like a shady outfit that doesn't want to let customers go.
This company is a disaster. Canceling your account is intentionally difficult, and they'll keep charging you long after you've quit using their platform. Fair warning to anyone thinking about signing up.
They tack on fees that aren't transparent in what they're offering. On top of that, switching to a different plan means you get hit with a switch fee. These folks seem to mislead users left and right just to squeeze more money out of them. This isn't a smart marketing approach, it's a deceptive one that doesn't even let you cancel straight from your account dashboard. Stay away from this.
Don't be fooled by the cancel button on their website. Canceling there means absolutely nothing because they bury the real cancellation process deep in their fine print, which requires you to send them an email instead. When I reached out to their support team about this nonsense, they got defensive and insisted they were operating correctly. This feels like a scam when it comes to how they handle billing.
Originally gave them one star because we used the service once, asked customer care to delete our account, they said they did, but then charged us four more times for a total of $150. Update: They got back to us quickly and issued a full refund, so changing my rating to five stars.
The actual product is great and pretty simple to set up in most cases. The real problem is customer support basically doesn't exist. I ran into a small issue that should've been quick to fix, but after three days all I get is vague promises that someone will look at it eventually. It's disappointing because otherwise I'd be happy with this tool, so I'm on the hunt for something better.
