What Shoppers Say About LEGOLAND California Resort
Shoppers consistently praise LEGOLAND California Resort's helpful staff and note that children enjoy the attractions and themed experiences. However, several recurring complaints temper the positive feedback. Visitors frequently cite high pricing across the board (admission, food, and beverages), crowding issues that exceed the park's apparent capacity, long wait times in harsh sun exposure, and limited appeal for adults accompanying children. Some reviewers felt the overall value and experience fell short of comparable major theme parks despite similar costs.
The park appears to deliver on entertainment for younger visitors, but operational challenges during busy periods (including food venue closures) and aggressive pricing strategies have left multiple families feeling the experience did not justify the expense or effort required to visit.

The kids absolutely loved it here. That said, there just aren't many rides geared toward adults, so keeping ourselves entertained was a challenge while we were managing the little ones all day.
Our kids had a great time at Legoland, but man, the pricing was shocking. We paid roughly $100 per ticket just to get in, then faced another hit at every turn. Small meals ran $15 each, bottled water was $2.50 a pop. It basically has the same cost structure as Disneyland without delivering a comparable experience. The children definitely enjoyed themselves, so that part worked out, but dropping over $500 for what felt like just an okay day was tough to swallow. Honestly, we could've taken that money and had way more fun hitting up a local beach with the kids instead.
We had a really disappointing experience at Legoland. Even though we went on what should have been a slower day, the park was packed way beyond what they seemed prepared for. One of the workers even mentioned they didn't anticipate such large crowds. Many food venues had shut down, which made the open restaurants completely slammed. We faced incredibly long waits for rides, sometimes 45 to 70 minutes just to get on something. The ride areas seemed understaffed, which definitely contributed to those massive lines. Trash cans were overflowing and there was garbage scattered around the park. This was our second visit and both times have been pretty rough. I don't plan to spend money here again.
We spent two full days at Legoland and the kids had fun, but there were definitely some frustrations. Waiting an hour and a half in direct sun for certain attractions was brutal, and some families with younger children actually gave up and left the lines because of the heat. We ended up spending about $20 just trying to keep everyone hydrated and cool with drinks and ice cream while standing around. The water ran out at the shops, so we had to grab alternative drinks at premium prices. To skip the lines entirely, they push their Q bot pass, and the premium version is $75 per person. So while regular guests are baking in the sun, the wealthier visitors jump ahead, which I guess teaches the kids early about how the world works. A slush puppy costs $3, but if you want a refillable cup, that's $7.50. Everything here is clearly designed to maximize spending. On top of your admission price, parking is another $5, or $8 if you want a closer spot. It's all pretty transparent about where their priorities lie. Still, if people keep paying for the premium options, they'll keep charging them. We'll probably skip future visits despite some good moments, since it really just feels like a money grab.
