What Shoppers Say About Local Flavor
Local Flavor has received overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 4 reviews averaging 1.3 out of 5. The primary complaints center on poor customer support, inability to honor vouchers and gift certificates, and lack of recourse when deals cannot be used. One reviewer noted purchasing a coupon only to find the restaurant had closed and been sold to new ownership that refused to honor the original voucher.
The few available details suggest customers feel abandoned when issues arise. Shoppers indicate that the company does not stand behind its offerings and that customer service is essentially unavailable when problems occur. The experiences reported suggest potential concerns about voucher validity, business verification, and the company's willingness to resolve disputes in customers' favor. Sorted by: Most recentSteer clear of this place. Absolutely terrible experience dealing with them. They won't stand behind their deals or vouchers. Once they have your cash, they're basically gone. Getting any kind of customer support is impossible, and when they mess up, they make you feel worse about the whole situation. Just shop somewhere else for discounts.
Closed Down Business and Unhelpful Support. We bought a coupon for thirty bucks that we got for just ten fifty after the discount. When we went to use it the other night, the spot had closed down and been bought by someone completely different who wasn't interested in honoring anything. They still had the old signs up, which is why we didn't know. I reached out to the company and got back this response about how their finance team deletes payment info after two months or whatever. We ended up getting credit for the ten fifty toward another deal from them instead, which is why I didn't give them just one star. Haven't used that credit yet since most of their other offers don't really work for us, so who knows when that'll happen.
Awful Support and No Help When It Matters. My wife and I tried to use a gift certificate at a local restaurant. When our server came over, I asked about the Fish and Chips since I'd seen it listed on their website but couldn't find it on the printed menu. The server just pointed to it in the bottom left corner and told us it was seventeen dollars, so we ordered two. Then came the problem. The server came back and said the restaurant wouldn't accept our certificate because Fish and Chips wasn't technically an entree. I was totally caught off guard by this. I mean, we paid seventeen bucks for it, that's clearly entree pricing in my book. Yeah, I didn't catch the Fine Print saying Entrée Only, but I honestly thought it qualified as an entree. We contacted the company asking for a refund or a replacement certificate, and they flat out denied us. When I sent another message, their response basically blamed me for not reading everything closely enough and said Fish and Chips was actually Light Fare, not an entree. No apology, no solution, just their policy being their answer.
This is basically a scam operation. I grabbed a restaurant voucher back in early 2020, and then everything shut down due to the pandemic. The restaurant went dark temporarily, so I called to see if I could get some credit since nobody knew how long things would stay closed. Fast forward to 2021 when things reopened and the voucher had expired. I tried using it at the restaurant anyway, and they said no. I called back to the company asking for help, and all they could tell me was that the restaurant should accept it. That response was useless. My money went somewhere but I got zero value. They wouldn't lift a finger to help. Don't touch this company with a ten foot pole.
