Manduka Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Manduka
Manduka receives sharply divided feedback from shoppers. A significant portion of reviewers praise the quality and durability of the yoga mats themselves, noting that the products justify their premium price point when purchased on sale. However, the majority of shoppers report serious concerns with the company's policies and customer service. Common complaints include restrictive return policies (no returns allowed on some products despite misleading website claims of free returns), non-functional discount codes, slow customer service response times that miss stated two-business-day windows, and confusing website promotions that don't actually apply at checkout.
The restrictive return policy emerges as the most frustrating issue for customers, particularly when terms are not clearly communicated upfront or are discovered only after purchase. Several reviewers felt misled by promotional messaging around free shipping and returns, discovering during checkout or after purchase that certain mats were ineligible. Beyond policy frustrations, some customers report receiving defective products that began deteriorating within weeks, with support responses that are delayed and that impose documentation burdens like proof of purchase on gift recipients.

Sorted by: Most recentReally disappointed with my experience with the Almost Perfect Pro Mat. A friend got it for me as a gift not realizing there were no returns allowed. When I found out it wasn't right for me, the company refused to do anything about it. Beyond the return policy issue, the mat itself has major problems. It's incredibly heavy and bulky, way too big for carrying to classes or fitting in my space. The grip is terrible too, which actually feels unsafe when you're trying to do poses. For something targeted at serious yogis, that's a major flaw. What really bothers me is how the company handles customer concerns. They're completely inflexible and don't seem to care once you've paid. This has totally turned me off from the brand and I won't be ordering from them again. If you're thinking about getting one as a gift, make absolutely sure the person will keep it because returns are not an option. Overall, this mat just didn't work for my needs and combined with poor customer service, I can't recommend it.
Their website is a mess. They advertise promotions that don't actually exist and none of the discount codes work at checkout.
I spent good money on a Manduka mat for the first time after seeing their site advertise free shipping and returns on orders over 125 dollars. I thought it was worth trying since I could send it back if needed. I didn't catch the fine print that certain mats weren't eligible for free returns, which is on me. But their banner was pretty misleading about the policy. I politely asked customer service if they'd make an exception just this once and cover the return shipping since the ad was confusing. That was almost two weeks ago and I haven't gotten a response by email or phone. They're completely ignoring me. This whole situation has left me really frustrated with this brand. Do your homework before buying from them because dealing with them is not worth the hassle.
Awful customer service experience. My daughter got a genuine Manduka Eko mat and after just a month it started falling apart and peeling. I reached out almost a month ago with pictures and didn't hear back for two weeks, even though they claim max two business days. Now they're demanding proof of purchase and email documentation. The mat was a gift from someone out of the country and I can't get those details, but they should be able to tell from the brand, model, and color that this is practically brand new. They need to replace it but instead they're giving me the runaround. I'm going to tell everyone I know to stay away from this brand because they don't stand behind their products.
I can't support this company based on personal experience. Years ago the CEO came to teach a yoga class at the studio where I was working in Central America. He was arrogant and disrespectful to several of us, and actually made students and instructors feel bad about themselves. I was gifted a Manduka mat later on and from day one it had no traction whatsoever. There are much better yoga mat companies out there to give your money to.
I've tried plenty of cheaper yoga mats over the years and have to say the pricier Manduka option really impressed me. I caught it on sale which made the cost more reasonable, since full price is steep for my budget. I'm happy to spend more for quality, but wouldn't go full price until I see how it holds up over time. The delivery was super quick and smooth. I'll give five stars partly because shipping went great, but also because some of the negative reviews on here are about fake sites pretending to be this brand, which isn't fair to hold against the real company.
Ordered what was supposed to be yoga mats but received some low-quality sunglasses instead. This is unacceptable.
This is about Manduka in the Dutch market. I ordered an expensive yoga mat along with a carrier and mat cleaner. The cleaner leaked right out of the box so I wouldn't recommend that product. The carrier also left permanent dark stains on my new mat, so skip that too. The actual mat though is fantastic and worth every penny. When I told customer support about the problems, they were really great about it. They sent me a replacement mat and refunded me for the carrier.
Heads up about the Australian site, it's definitely a scam. I placed an order for three mats and got a knockoff baseball cap in return. Their customer service claimed it was a mix-up but wasn't apologetic, then offered to refund only 35% of what I paid. Thankfully my bank was able to help me recover most of the money, though I did lose a bit in fees.
