What Shoppers Say About Kbserver Netgear
Kbserver Netgear receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious issues with customer support and product reliability. Reviewers consistently describe support staff as unresponsive, unprofessional, and unhelpful, citing long wait times, unanswered calls, and lack of follow-up. Multiple shoppers report hardware failures shortly after warranty expiration, difficulties transferring subscriptions between devices, and frustration with software update processes that fail repeatedly despite multiple troubleshooting attempts.
The small percentage of positive reviews does not materially offset the dominant pattern of complaints. Shoppers express strong dissatisfaction with the overall value proposition, with some stating they will not purchase Netgear products again due to the combination of unreliable hardware and inadequate support. The experiences described suggest systemic issues with customer service staffing and responsiveness rather than isolated incidents.

Sorted by: Most recentPossible Fake Support Site Scam: Bought a WiFi extender and couldn't get it connected. Following the manual, I visited what seemed to be the support site and started a chat. At first it looked legitimate, then the technician claimed they'd call me. I thought it was official. The person on the phone said my computer had been hacked and wanted money to fix it. I contacted the real Netgear to report what happened, and they just blocked me without helping sort it out. I still don't know if I fell for a clone website or if it was actually them. Either way, Netgear was zero help. Be careful out there.
RAX80 Underperforming and Unhelpful Support: Got a RAX80 in November 2019 and everything seemed fine at first. Switched my broadband service in February 2020 to a faster provider. Their equipment gets download speeds of one hundred forty megabits per second, but my four month old expensive RAX80 maxes out at ninety four. After a long call with Netgear, they insisted nothing was wrong with the router and blamed my ISP, even though the ISP equipment was clearly working fine just minutes away from the Netgear unit. The support person offered more diagnostics, including another reset which I'd already tried, but would charge me a hundred dollars if they found and fixed the problem. For a brand new expensive product, they didn't care. When I pointed out the hardware clearly had the issue, not the internet provider, they hung up on me. Rude and worthless customer service. Don't buy Netgear products.
USB Compatibility Issues on D7000v2: Got a D7000v2 in spring of 2018. Set it up as a modem and router combo and it worked great. Wanted to use the USB ports to connect external storage drives that could be accessed across my network devices for media and files. Almost every USB drive I tried wasn't recognized properly. Only managed to get two old one gigabyte USB 2.0 sticks to work and show up on the network, which is only good enough for storing ten albums. Attempted using the following with no luck in either USB 2 or USB 3 ports: a thirty two gigabyte Transcend USB 3 stick formatted FAT 32, a sixteen gigabyte Transcend USB 3 stick formatted FAT 32, a five hundred gigabyte Seagate USB 2 external drive formatted FAT 32, a one terabyte Samsung USB 3 portable drive formatted NTFS, and a two terabyte Samsung USB 3 portable drive formatted NTFS. None were recognized, but all of them worked perfectly on my Windows computers, my Huawei router, Raspberry Pi, and Nexus tablet. Then I learned Netgear only gives ninety days of free support. The D7000v2 seems to like ancient USB gear but struggles with anything modern. If anyone at Netgear knows how to fix this, let me know.
Great Equipment Ruined by Software and Poor Service: The hardware is excellent but the firmware and customer service really let you down. Look at their gaming routers like the XR500, which are pricey but only got one update since late 2018, and that took eight months to show up while fixing almost nothing. Still no IPv6 support, which even budget routers have nowadays. You get ninety days of tech support and then you're abandoned, though honestly support isn't much help anyway. Some of their firmware is literally a decade old in brand new routers costing hundreds of dollars, which explains why people write custom software for these devices. They don't respond to emails properly, support sends generic replies, and you go in circles. The routers are well built, but unless you're willing to void your warranty to run better third party firmware, I'd look elsewhere. That's really disappointing.
Got a Nighthawk Router but It Caused Issues: Picked up a Nighthawk and started having my computer freeze constantly. Called my cable company and they said the issue wasn't on their end, maybe the router needed an update. Reached out to Netgear and immediately hit a paywall since my warranty had expired. First they wanted a hundred dollar service plan, then they mentioned six months of service, then settled on a fifty dollar one-time fee. At my age and income level, I couldn't justify spending that much. Eventually the support person emailed me some instructions, which were confusing, but I remembered a prior software update for security and managed to do this one without issues. Their product won't get my money again.
Fantastic Performance on the R9000: Grabbed an R9000 and the speed is phenomenal. Threw a big gaming event at my house with twenty people all connected to play online games and it worked great the whole time. Ping was hovering around sixty, which was perfect.
Amazing Speed on the R9000: Grabbed an R9000 and the speed is absolutely incredible. I had a big gaming party at my place with twenty guys all playing online games and it handled everything without any problems. Ping stayed around sixty, which is fantastic.
One Star: Bought a used Netgear Stora NAS model MS2110 in great condition and figured why not. I know how to set up network storage systems, this wasn't my first time. Then problems started. The system won't function without internet access and an active Stora account with username and password. The seller still had his account, wouldn't share the login, and I couldn't get mine to work either. Research showed I'd need to call Netgear support for a factory reset. Did that, paid the expensive support fee, and they refused to help. They don't do resets on out of warranty products anymore. Asked again for assistance and got the same answer, then they told me to just buy a new system. Couldn't believe it. Netgear support was completely unprofessional. That's the last product I'll ever buy from them.
Terrible Experience: Picked up a secondhand Netgear Stora NAS, model MS2110, and it looked practically brand new. I've set up network storage before, so I figured no problem. Wrong. The device won't work without an internet connection and a Stora account with login credentials. The previous owner still had his account active, couldn't share the password, and I couldn't get it working with my own credentials either. Found out I'd need to contact Netgear support to get it factory reset. Called their support line, paid good money for it, and they flat out refused. Warranty had expired, so they said no dice and suggested I just buy a new one. I couldn't believe it. Netgear's support team was incredibly unprofessional. I'm done with their brand for good. Won't recommend them to anyone.
Can't Find Phone Support Anywhere: Located in Australia with a Netgear modem and can't locate a single phone number. It's all about checking their online community boards and reading what other people have asked before, which is basically cutting costs on actual support. Trying to set up parental controls but all I get from their support section is page after page opening up without a single phone contact option.
