What Shoppers Say About NuvoH2O
NuvoH2O receives consistently negative feedback from shoppers, with a 1.3 rating based on 4 reviews. Customers report significant issues with product performance, particularly regarding the system's ability to actually soften hard water. Several reviewers felt misled by sales representations, with one installer advising against the purchase entirely. Additionally, shoppers cite problems with component availability (such as manifolds) and filter quality, with reports of defective filters that leak and require multiple replacements despite the automatic delivery service.
Beyond performance concerns, customers express frustration with the company's parts replacement policies and the high cost of replacement filters relative to their reliability. The recurring theme across reviews is a disconnect between what the company promises during the sales process and what the system actually delivers in real-world use.

Sorted by: Most recentWe had a professional install our water softening system less than three years ago. Out of nowhere last week, the manifold developed a tiny hole and started leaking. I called a plumber to fix it, and he delivered some really bad news - apparently this company won't sell you just the manifold part, which is super basic, and instead they want you to buy their whole system all over again. He also mentioned these units are built from cheap plastic and he runs into this leaking problem with them constantly. On top of that, I spent hours trying to reach their customer service department and nobody ever picked up. I tried requesting a callback and nobody called me back either. I would go with literally any other water filter company instead. This outfit clearly doesn't care about taking care of their customers.
Got stuck with a bad filter. I've had this system for close to a decade and get new filters delivered automatically. The last couple orders have been garbage, and the newest one is the worst. I'm not interested in paying $100 for a filter that still leaks blue water everywhere, especially when I've already had to swap this same one out twice. Setting it up should be straightforward without all the waiting around they keep suggesting. Hoping this replacement finally does the job.
Bought a NUVO H2O system after calling their support team to see if it would handle the serious hard water problems we have out here. They promised it would work great, but that turned out to be totally wrong. When I got an installer to look at it, he said I shouldn't buy it at all - called the whole thing terrible. I decided to ignore that and went with another installer who seemed more positive about it. The system basically didn't do anything for our hard water situation, and then their customer service became an absolute nightmare. They kept asking me for an official water test report, and once I finally got one to them, they said the system was never going to work for our home. If this was going to be the case, why didn't they ask for that upfront when I first called? Or why not just try replacing the filter and see if it helps? I'm now stuck with a system that doesn't work, spent more than $2,500 with installation costs included, and I got treated poorly the whole way. I'm shocked at how badly this company operates.
I got the NUVOH2O Manor + Taste whole house salt-free water softening and filtering system back in October 2022. By November I tested my water and found the hardness level was way too high, so I contacted them to complain that it wasn't softening anything. They responded by saying the system doesn't actually reduce hardness - it just changes the chemical makeup so minerals don't damage pipes. That's completely wrong because I ended up with heavy mineral deposits building up inside my pipes, in my appliances, and all around the toilet bowls. About eight months in, my cat got a urinary tract infection out of nowhere, and switching his food didn't help. He got another one a month later, so I started buying bottled water for him and the infections stopped completely. Around the same time, I started noticing a really foul smell coming from every faucet and whenever I flushed the toilets. I was changing filters every three months since we're on a well system, but the smell just wouldn't go away. I had the water tested by a professional, got the well inspected, and called in a plumber who found that the stink was actually coming from the filter itself - the line coming out of it was covered in this gross slimy buildup. Once I removed the whole system, replaced the pipes near the filter, and cleaned out the back of the toilets, the smell finally went away.
