What Shoppers Say About Perdue Farms
Perdue Farms receives predominantly negative ratings from shoppers, with 1.4 out of 5 by 9 reviewers. The few satisfied customers praise the quality of specific products like boneless thighs and pre-cooked turkey breast, along with occasional bonus items included in orders. However, the overwhelming majority of reviews cite serious concerns: animal welfare standards, excessive fat and bone content relative to usable meat, unresponsive customer service that fails to resolve issues like damaged packaging or leaking products, and frustration with promotional deals that sell out almost immediately or go live ahead of schedule.
Recurring complaints focus on value for money, particularly when customers receive large packages that yield minimal actual meat after trimming fat and bones. Shoppers also report poor customer service experiences, with representatives offering no real solutions or replacements for damaged or defective orders. The ethical treatment of animals emerges as a significant concern for multiple reviewers, suggesting this may be an important consideration for customers choosing poultry suppliers.

Sorted by: Most recentWe've placed four orders from this chicken supplier and haven't had any issues yet. My household really loves the boneless thighs when they run that deal where you get two for the price of one. The pre-cooked turkey breast is fantastic for making sandwiches. What really gets me is that they always throw in something extra with our order. Last time we got a whole pound of shrimp! I'm definitely satisfied and would recommend them.
Their standards when it comes to how they treat animals are essentially nonexistent.
Ordered two large packs of chicken legs with bones and skin. When I unwrapped them, there was just way too much fat covering everything. After trimming away all that fat and the bones, I ended up with barely a pound of actual meat from those huge packages. Called their customer service and the rep wasn't much help, didn't offer any real solution. Not going back to this brand again. Honestly, the quality was poor.
The conditions that their animals are kept in are concerning and not up to acceptable standards.
My experience ordering meat online from them has been disappointing. The first time I ordered, the bacon packaging had a leak and the meat inside looked and felt wrong. I contacted support about it and the representative never even sent a replacement. A second order arrived with a box that was severely damaged in transit with water everywhere inside. Most recently, I placed an order but realized the next day I needed to cancel it before it shipped. Nobody responded to my cancellation email. When I called because I got a shipping notification, one agent said she'd look into it and would get back to me by text or email. That never happened. I called back and got a different person who told me it was already shipped but that they'd refunded my payment. Their customer service team doesn't seem to be honest about what's actually happening. This will be my last time ordering from them online.
They advertised a special offering chicken wings plus an air fryer for ten dollars, but it was scheduled to go live at noon according to their website. I logged in at ten in the morning to get ready. The deal went active thirty minutes early at half past ten. I immediately added one to my cart and had already filled in all my information. By the time I went to complete the purchase, the website said there were no more available. This is misleading advertising since the promotion started early without warning. I feel like I missed out on a real opportunity. I doubt they'll do anything to make this right.
Got some chicken tenders from a local grocery store two days ago. When I opened them up to cook dinner the next night, I found thick veins running through almost every single tender which made them impossible to use. A few pieces were also completely crushed and mangled. Returned the whole package to the store. I won't be purchasing their brand anymore after this experience.
This was hands down the worst customer service I've ever experienced with a food company. We spent several hundred dollars on a large order that included a whole turkey, a turkey breast, thighs, cheesecakes, and ground beef. When everything arrived, the turkey breast was missing from the box. I called to ask them to send it out separately, but was told their shipping policy doesn't allow single frozen items. Most companies would bend over backwards to fix their mistake, but they refused. While I understand there's a cost to them, losing customer loyalty doesn't seem like a smart business decision. Instead of keeping a satisfied repeat customer, they've lost me for good. Their approach to fixing problems is honestly pretty disappointing.
Applied for a job in their marketing department back in early September and had to travel for an on-site interview in Maryland. Their human resources team told me they'd cover my travel costs including meals and transportation. I sent in my expenses according to what their HR team said, but months went by without any reimbursement. After trying to follow up without success, I decided to file a complaint with the BBB to try to get this resolved.
