When they got bought by a big corporate outfit, things changed fast. New manufacturing meant more cheap products flooding the shelves. The returns jumped like crazy during the holidays when I was there. Stuff wouldn't function right, pieces wouldn't fit together. It's the classic story of a family business getting swallowed up by corporate greed and churning out low quality junk instead. Pretty sad what happened to the brand.
Got my star patio light fixtures but three plastic stars were missing from the order. When I called about it they said I had to contact the claims department through email only, no phone line. Want to return anything? That'll be on your dime for shipping. Never shopping at this overpriced place with awful service again.
Got a wooden bench delivered that was severely damaged straight out of the box. Emailed them right away asking for a replacement. Got word on May 17th that a replacement was being ordered with a three to five business day window. By May 24th nothing had arrived and no shipping confirmation came through. Sent another email asking for an update and tracking number. Radio silence. Called the company and was told they'd look into it. Still got nothing. June first rolled around and I still had no word on the replacement shipping. My latest messages haven't been answered. This is the worst customer service I've experienced. Frustrating because I actually like their product selection. Won't be ordering from them again.
Back in 2017 I purchased a wicker double glider that worked great until recently when a key part broke and stopped functioning. When I reached out to the company about getting a replacement component, they said they shut down their parts department years ago and couldn't help because of when I bought it. Now the glider just sits there and doesn't work. You'd think a decent company would support what they sell for more than a few years.
Really let down by this company. I've been a customer for about twelve years and initially loved shopping with them. Lately their customer service has gone downhill fast. They can't seem to solve any order problems. For two days I tried placing an order but kept running into delivery address issues. I had a discount code expiring soon so I was in a rush. Called customer service, explained what was happening, and got told my items were backordered. I said go ahead anyway. At checkout they suddenly tell me the discount expired at midnight. I explained I'd been having problems placing the order, but the agent said nothing could be done. I've been loyal and spent good money with them, but this is how they treat me. The last couple orders in the past eight months have had the same lousy service. Time to find somewhere else.
I'd give them less if I could but one star is the minimum for reviews. DO NOT ORDER. Placed an online order for three items to be picked up at a local store. Only one item showed up and they charged for all three. Two months later still waiting on the others. Estimated another six weeks for the remaining items. It's unfortunate to see such a well respected company in such bad shape.
Skip the monthly flower bulb orders. I ordered mine and I'm really unhappy with how everything went. I sent multiple emails about delivery problems and nobody has responded. On my first delivery, several bulbs were sitting loose in the soil, completely out of the container. This happened because they put the label on the wrong side of the box. There's an arrow showing proper orientation, but the label was backwards so of course it got flipped around. My second shipment was missing a wicker basket that the pictures clearly show should be included. Really misleading presentation.
Terrible company when it comes to getting things on time. If you order with the expectation of receiving your item quickly, look elsewhere. If you're patient waiting three or even almost four weeks while they charge your card, then maybe try them. Plus you'll wait three days for email responses and will discover damaged merchandise when you finally open what you've been waiting on for weeks. Don't trust their Christmas delivery promises even if you pay extra for shipping. I ordered a fireplace screen as a Christmas gift and it never arrived.
I'd rate the customer service zero stars if that were an option. Ordered an item that didn't show as out of stock or backordered. A couple days later they send me a link to pricier replacement items in stock that I'd supposedly get before the holidays. So I order something three times more expensive. Said it would ship by the 17th but I ordered on the 15th. Nothing ever gets a tracking number and it just keeps saying preparing to ship. Won't tell me anything about it or who the vendor is. Got an email saying give them up to 72 hours to answer. Meanwhile I have no clue if I'm getting this item at all. Asked them to reach out to the vendor themselves and they say they can't do that and have nothing else to tell me. I purchased through them but they claim to know nothing. Don't order from them if there's a problem because they won't actually help you. They claim it's beyond their control.
The advertising is completely misleading compared to what's actually available. Wanted a custom fireplace screen advertised in the catalog under custom made to fit any hearth, so I called with the item number. Put on hold multiple times, I finally learned none of the catalog items are customizable and that feature only exists online. The representative was pretty nice though, but there's no way I'd purchase from a company that misleads consumers like that.
