What Shoppers Say About Potterybarnkids
Pottery Barn Kids receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 18 reviews averaging 1.4 out of 5. The primary complaints center on product durability issues (particularly with furniture like dressers and loft beds failing within months despite premium pricing), unresponsive customer service when problems arise, and unreliable delivery experiences including missed appointments, crews refusing to wait for building access, and damaged items arriving. Shoppers also report problems with gift wrapping services charging fees while omitting gift cards and messages. A small portion of reviews (11 percent) are positive, though specific praise details are minimal in the available data.
Severely disappointed customers emphasize that the high price points (dressers over $800, premium furniture sets) are not justified by product longevity or service quality. Multiple shoppers state they would have been better served by discount retailers or competitors, and several vow never to shop at Pottery Barn Kids again. The consistent theme across negative reviews is that the company prioritizes charging for services while failing to deliver on basic quality, repair support, and reliable logistics.

Sorted by: Most recentGetting furniture from Pottery Barn Kids is way too much of a hassle. The quality is fine but go somewhere else. I ordered a bedroom set in August for our nursery before the baby arrived in November. We needed a bed, dresser, and nightstand with delivery expected mid-September. Nothing happened and nobody communicated. When I called, they said they wouldn't ship anything until the nightstand arrived since it was backordered. We pushed hard to split the order and had to call three more times before they finally did it. In mid-October the bed and dresser arrived, but the dresser came in the wrong color. Customer service told me they couldn't do anything about it.
The furniture quality at Pottery Barn Kids is decent, but buying from them and getting your stuff delivered is such a headache. I ordered a bedroom set in August with a mid-September delivery window for our new baby arriving in November. Since the nightstand was on backorder, they refused to ship the bed and dresser until everything was ready. We had to beg them to split the order and ended up calling three times to make it happen. When the bed and dresser finally showed up in mid-October, the dresser was the wrong color and mislabeled. Customer service said they couldn't fix it. You're better off shopping somewhere else.
We ordered a canopy bed with white glove delivery two months ago for our 10-year-old and still haven't received it. The first delivery driver didn't even knock on the door and claimed he waited 15 minutes before leaving. We stayed home for the second attempt and it never showed. When we called, they said the bed wasn't in the warehouse. We rescheduled and called back three days later like they told us, but it still wasn't there. After two months, they promised a manager would eventually call. Good furniture means nothing when you can't get reliable delivery service. This is the worst experience I've had.
We bought a nursery set because we were told it would arrive before our baby was born and ended up spending way too much time dealing with conflicting delivery dates and information from various reps. Nothing arrived when promised. The consultant who recommended items didn't measure correctly, and the rug didn't fit. It was stressful and disappointing for over $5,000 spent. We even got credit vouchers that expired a few months later and never used them because their service was so bad. Honestly, we have negative feelings about this company now. Skip them entirely.
Stay away from Pottery Barn Kids. The quality has gone downhill and customer service is awful. I bought an expensive duvet cover on June 30th and it arrived over a week later. In late July I used it for the first time and never washed it. It started pilling immediately. On September 5 I called customer service and spoke to someone who said I was just barely outside the 30-day return window and refused to get a manager involved. He told me to buy a pilling remover and hung up on me. I paid top dollar thinking it was quality merchandise. I've bought two full furniture sets from them plus lots of other stuff, and this is how they treat loyal customers. Do not shop here.
Their online service is terrible. When I searched for something, the website switched it for a different item. When I told them, they said they couldn't change it since the order was already placed. They shipped it out anyway, sent it to a different state, and charged me $30 for the return. Two other items I ordered never shipped and got cancelled. I ended up paying them to fix their mistake and got nothing in return. This company's business practices are a mess.
Visited the Pottery Barn Kids location in the area and had a fantastic experience. The staff member took time to answer all my questions about stroller assembly and what options were available. I'd definitely recommend this location. I went in after 7pm so it was quieter, which probably helped.
I want to thank the Pottery Barn Kids customer service team for going above and beyond to help me with my grandson's birthday gift. I accidentally had a chair shipped to the wrong address, but they were able to redeliver it to the correct place at no extra charge and it arrived before his birthday. My grandson absolutely loves it. As someone who spent years in customer service, I really appreciate the effort this team put in to make things right.
