I've been a Quest protein bar fan for several years and thought I was making a smart health choice. Then I came across some information online that made me reconsider the erythritol ingredient in their bars. After doing my own research, I decided it's not worth the potential risk. I'm looking for other options now.

I placed a really big order on this site and only got one box with just a tiny piece of what I paid for. I waited seven days for the rest of it and nothing showed up. When I checked my account, it said everything had been delivered. I'm short 11 boxes of chips and over $200 in stuff. The customer service team hasn't even reached out to me, and honestly, I'm done with this company after what happened. It's hard to believe a brand this size can just keep over $200 and not actually send the items.

I purchased 2 boxes of the Quest Hero Bar with crisp chocolate caramel pecan flavor. Each box should have had 4 bars, but mine only had 3. I got in touch with customer service over a month back requesting a replacement coupon and still haven't gotten it. When I called again, they told me coupons take 4 to 6 weeks, then mentioned a 2 to 3 week callback window. This company's customer service is really disappointing. I'm going to find a different brand.

I looked into what's actually in Quest chips compared to budget alternatives and found something troubling. When you dig into the ingredient lists, both end up having basically the same highly processed, additive-heavy base. The food industry does this for cost and efficiency reasons, but it means these products don't offer much nutritional benefit and come with some of the same health red flags as any processed food full of additives. Sure, the final product tastes and feels different, but the actual makeup is surprisingly similar. Bottom line: this is a seriously overpriced and overhyped snack. You'd get better value just eating cheaper options. And here's the thing about protein for athletes, too. Going for high-salt processed snacks is actually working against your fitness goals and could hurt your health. Real athletes should be eating whole, unprocessed foods without all the sodium. You'd be way better off just grabbing a hard boiled egg.

The items themselves are acceptable if you're willing to overlook they're not amazing, especially considering the nutritional value. But here's where things fall apart: I have points sitting in my account ready to be used, but when I click the redeem button, absolutely nothing happens. I tried different browsers and got the same result. Called them on a Saturday morning and got a recording saying they're closed, but then there were menu options anyway. Hit the number for orders and got stuck on hold forever before I gave up. Just to finish my purchase, I had to skip the discount. And watch out for hidden fees. They advertise free shipping if you hit a minimum, then slap you with a "fuel charge." Then there's the $2.99 "cool pac" fee even though no cool pac came in the box. I called about that and they fixed it, but then months later it happened again. When I called back, they claimed it was actually an expedited shipping charge, but I don't see anything on the website saying that.

The actual items here are decent, but the shipping speed is really disappointing. I submitted my order on February 6th and it's still not here as of March 5th. That's almost a month of waiting for something that should arrive much faster.

I've tested out their main competitors and Quest beats them all. Superior fiber content, superior flavor, and the carb count is the lowest around. Just straight up the best. While I'm more drawn to certain varieties than others, every single product is quality. Anyone who eats high protein and low carb nutrition really should test out a few different kinds to find their favorites.

I'd love to see their protein chips and Hero bars available at regular retail stores more often. That said, the site makes it pretty straightforward to stock up on bigger orders.
