What Shoppers Say About Serengeti Eyewear, Inc.
Serengeti Eyewear receives predominantly negative feedback, with shoppers reporting significant quality control and customer service issues. Common complaints include receiving defective products (scratches, poor construction, mismatched accessories), unresponsive customer support, refusal to honor replacements, and misleading return policies that require customers to pay for return shipping despite advertised "no hassle" returns. One shopper noted that while the brand once delivered durability (wearing the same pair for over two decades), recent purchases feel cheap with poorly constructed components.
The few positive aspects mentioned relate to the brand's historical reputation and premium pricing, though recent purchases have failed to justify the cost. Shoppers express disappointment that the company does not live up to its established track record, and the lack of in-person try-on options combined with quality and support failures creates a frustrating buying experience.

Sorted by: Most recentSkip this company entirely. I grabbed sunglasses from their Amazon storefront and had major issues right away. Not only were they delivered with scratches, but when I asked if they could send me a replacement lens since the full frames were out of stock, they flat out refused. On top of that, the case that came with my order was completely the wrong size. I reached out to customer service asking them to swap it for the correct one at no charge, and they came up with excuses about why they couldn't help. I ended up having to use an old pair of Ray Ban cases instead. Their customer service is really frustrating and I won't be giving them another shot.
The cost is steep, but hey, they're Serengeti. Since there's nowhere to try them in person before buying, I figured I'd be getting quality glasses based on their track record. When they arrived, I wasn't particularly blown away by the lens color. I drive professionally and needed something that would make details stand out, especially in rainy or overcast conditions. The mineral lenses do have a noticeably clear quality to them right out of the box, but honestly, when I put them on during an overcast day, they don't feel like any major upgrade compared to my Ray Ban Aviators. They're not even better than my forty year old yellow tinted Serengeti Aviators, though I don't wear those much since I can't replace them anymore. These newer frames also don't quite match my usual look, but they were the closest option I could find for driving glasses. When I tried to reach out to Serengeti before ordering, I discovered they're now owned by a larger corporation with multiple brands, most of which I wouldn't normally support because of where they manufacture. They claim these are Italian made, but getting anyone on the phone in their customer service is basically impossible. I took a gamble and ordered them anyway.
Quality and customer support are basically nonexistent here. I bought a new pair after my previous Serengeti sunglasses finally gave out after over two and a half decades of use. These new ones feel cheap, and the temple tips are made from poorly constructed rubber or plastic tubing that isn't even properly attached. I dropped them a couple times and the tips fell off, though I managed to find them. Eventually I lost one for good. I decided to use the warranty, so I tried filling out their contact form online. The form wasn't working at all and my messages weren't going through. After several days of trying, it finally went through, but I got an automated response from Bollé brands, the current owner of Serengeti, saying they can't help online and that I need to contact my retailer. The problem? I bought them straight from their website. I went to a nearby retailer in my area and they told me I'd have to reach out to Bollé directly since I ordered from them. It's a total runaround. The company used to be solid before all the ownership changes. Bollé brands as the current owner seems like a step down. The shades are covered under a mandatory two year warranty, but getting service is nearly impossible.
More than ten days have passed and I still haven't gotten a call back from their manager. At this point I'm not expecting one. The customer service here is honestly terrible.
This company advertises a "no hassle return policy" on their website, but it's pretty misleading. Turns out that doesn't mean free returns, you actually have to cover the shipping costs yourself through UPS or FedEx, which runs between fifteen and twenty five dollars. So technically you get your money back, but you're out the return shipping. I called their customer service line about sending back some sunglasses and was told they'd email instructions and info about when I'd get refunded. I asked to speak with a manager and got transferred to their voicemail. I left a detailed message with my name and phone number asking for a callback. Three days went by and I never heard anything back from management. Their website says they have this friendly customer service team ready to help, but that hasn't been my experience.
