What Shoppers Say About Sounds True
Sounds True is rated 1.1 out of 5 by 25 shoppers, with 92 percent of reviews giving one star. The overwhelming majority of complaints center on deceptive business practices, particularly automatic subscription renewals that customers report are difficult to cancel. Shoppers also describe persistent technical problems with content access and the media player, poor customer service responses, and a shift toward an expensive membership model that reviewers say offers lower quality material than the company's previous product offerings.
A smaller number of reviewers mention additional frustrations including inability to listen to purchases offline, higher prices compared to competitors, inadequate troubleshooting support shifted to customers, and unresolved refund requests. Very few positive reviews appear in the recent feedback, and those recommending the company are essentially absent from the current review data.

Sorted by: Most recentThey're being dishonest and sneaky. When you try to buy something, they force you to take a complimentary month subscription that auto-renews and it's nearly impossible to turn it off. This is really disappointing coming from a company that was founded in 1995 with a mission to share spiritual knowledge with integrity. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
It's disappointing to see where this company is heading. They're pushing the membership model hard now, but the membership is expensive and doesn't have the same caliber of material they used to sell as individual products. I'm recommending people look elsewhere instead.
I bought some content and now I can't get to any of it. They're giving me absolutely zero support. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. This has been an awful experience!
The player on my computer kept acting up and they gave me a huge list of troubleshooting steps. That shouldn't be on the customer - Sounds True should make sure the player works. I purchased an audiobook and later found the exact same thing on another platform for half the price. Also there's no way to listen offline.
I'm having trouble accessing the audiobook I paid for. Some days I can't even log in, other times I can get in but can't find my library. The application is really poorly made. Their bot help is equally bad and can't answer even simple questions.
Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I'm still waiting to see if they're actually going to give me the refund they promised!
I had a basic question about my account. When I tried to access the programs, nothing worked. I asked support for help and all I got back were articles that had nothing to do with what I was asking about. I specifically requested to speak with someone but just received the same useless articles. It's really upsetting and frustrating, especially given that they position themselves as being about personal growth. The company seems to lack any actual values - they're blocking every attempt to resolve issues or let customers use what they paid for. They're basically taking money without delivering anything. It seems intentional.
They promise a lot but deliver very little. I signed up for a course that's so oversubscribed that people can't even get into the zoom sessions. It's poorly organized and doesn't match what they advertised. They seem really skilled at taking money but don't care about actually giving people a good experience or sharing quality material. I won't be doing another course with them.
I'm really let down by what's happening at this company. I bought a course called The Master Keys by Robert Peng and they advertised that you get lifetime access to their courses. When I logged back in to continue with it, the course was just gone. If they didn't have the rights to sell it, they have no right keeping my money. I've reached out repeatedly and no one will respond. That's false advertising - shouldn't they at least give me a discount on something else? I'm not buying from them again.
The playback won't continue when I switch to another app - it just stops dead! That's really frustrating. Plus the materials mention you can download content but I spent over an hour searching for that feature and just kept getting responses from a useless chatbot. I'm shocked by this. This used to be a company I really cared about. What's happened to them?
