The Fruit Company Reviews
What Shoppers Say About The Fruit Company
The Fruit Company receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 1.2 out of 5 by 10 reviewers. Customers report serious issues across multiple areas: orders arrive with incorrect addresses or duplicate shipments that cannot be refunded, delivery dates are significantly misaligned with customer expectations (sometimes arriving a month early), and the fruit quality is frequently poor, with spoiled or overripe items upon arrival. Pricing is also criticized as extremely high compared to local grocery stores, with some reporting paying nearly $9 per orange. Additionally, customer service interactions are described as unhelpful, with customers reporting system issues, incorrect contact information, and demands to provide proof of product damage rather than offering straightforward resolutions.
Across these reviews, no meaningful positive feedback emerges. Customers express frustration with the company's inability to execute basic order fulfillment (correct addresses, accurate delivery timing, product quality) and its customer service responsiveness. Those who purchased through Costco as a gift option particularly highlight disappointment with the overall experience.

Sorted by: Most recentI ordered three Christmas gift boxes for delivery before the holidays. Two arrived fine, but the third got shipped with incomplete address information and the wrong last name. The recipient didn't reach out about the missing gift until early January. I started calling to track it down and kept getting told their system was down and to call back. This went on for weeks. Finally, they said the package went to a random person on January 8 and claimed it was my fault for not providing the full street address. I asked why they shipped it incomplete in the first place and said I shouldn't have to pay again. They offered me free shipping if I bought another one. This is between them and the carrier, but instead of taking any responsibility, they pointed the finger at me.
This company is awful. I got three identical gift baskets sent to the same address and can't get my money back no matter what I do. Don't order from The Fruit Company through Costco.
We had just gotten through a rough car accident and thought sending Christmas gifts from this company would be a nice gesture. We picked out some nice baskets and selected delivery for mid-December, 2024. Then I get a call saying the baskets are arriving on November 13. I'm completely let down by this mix-up. What really got me was calling customer service and getting attitude from the representative. She was rude and made me feel stupid. I won't be ordering from them again.
The fruit I received was spoiled and when I complained, customer service demanded I prove it. If you're looking for overripe and damaged fruit, this is your spot.
The pricing is absolutely crazy. I paid almost $9 per orange when I could grab better quality ones from my local grocery store for just a dollar each. Total waste of money.
My brother sent me a gift basket from this company through Costco for Christmas. One piece of fruit was embarrassingly tiny, smaller than anything I've ever seen at a regular supermarket. The label said there's a 100% guarantee, so I called the number listed only to find out it was wrong. I had to search online for the correct contact info. When I finally reached someone, they refused to send a replacement without my brother authorizing it and wanted to call him directly. I managed to conference my brother in, and we worked out a refund, but I'm never buying from them again. I'd recommend checking out Wine Country Gift Baskets instead.
What a letdown. The company packed the fruit baskets way too tight to squeeze them into smaller shipping boxes, which caused almost all the fruit to get bruised. The outside boxes looked completely fine, so the damage clearly happened during their packing process. They said they'd send replacement fruit to the gift recipient but never followed through. When I looked into this more, I discovered that damaged and rotten fruit is something customers complain about constantly. That's pretty ironic for a company whose name suggests fruit should be their specialty. Turns out it's actually their weakest product. I won't be ordering again.
I'm really frustrated about this. My daughter in PA received the fruit basket I sent for her and her new baby, but the teddy bear and balloon never made it. After I contacted them about the missing items, they promised to send replacements and said they'd arrive that same day. That didn't happen. I'm kicking myself for not just putting together something myself because at least then I'd know for certain it got there. This isn't how you should treat customers. They've lost my business.
Stay away from this company if you need gifts delivered on schedule. I've tried ordering twice and had terrible luck both times. First was for my father-in-law at Christmas and it never showed up. The second time was for Mother's Day, and even though I ordered well ahead and paid extra for their guaranteed Mother's Day window ending May 14, they shipped it May 8 via ground from across the country. It arrived two days late. The company refuses to take responsibility and just blames it all on the carrier.
