What Shoppers Say About Tile
Tile is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 22 shoppers, with the vast majority reporting severely negative experiences. Shoppers consistently cite poor customer service as the primary complaint, describing unhelpful chat support, inability to locate orders despite confirmation emails, and staff who claim responsibility issues are the customer's fault. Additional recurring problems include refund delays or denials (some lasting months), order fulfillment errors (wrong product versions shipped), slow delivery times (around ten days), damaged items arriving on sale purchases, and an overall lack of accountability when problems occur.
Few shoppers report positive experiences. Those who do note that basic transactions like ordering and device activation worked smoothly initially. However, the overwhelming pattern shows that Tile's customer service fails when shoppers need assistance with returns, replacements, billing issues, or product support. Reviewers express frustration that the company either refuses responsibility or directs customers to third-party fulfillment providers (such as Digital River) as an excuse for service gaps. The consensus suggests avoiding Tile unless prepared for potential issues with no reliable recourse.

Sorted by: Most recentThe instructions are confusing and customer support chat takes forever to respond. Even after all that I still can't get my tile working.
I ordered a tile keyfob and a card holder and my bank account got charged right away. Three days later I still haven't gotten an order confirmation or any updates. Reached out to support and they said they escalated it but haven't contacted me back. Still nothing after four days, no confirmation, no communication at all.
Got a single tile for my luggage on a trip and didn't realize upfront that you need to pay for a separate subscription plan to get the full tracking features. My coworker showed me their apple airtag and honestly the tracking quality on the tile is decent but definitely not as solid. Tried canceling the subscription later and man, what a hassle that was. Also worth knowing that once the battery dies, you're stuck buying a whole new tile since you can't replace it yourself.
Used to be good. Just shows your phone's last location, not actual GPS though. Now tile got bought by life360 and if you keep using it you have to accept their new terms with no other choice. I've been using tile for eight years but can't accept what's coming so I'm out. Changed my rating from five stars to one.
If you're in Switzerland watch out. The Swiss site gets redirected automatically based on your location but it's not actually run by tile, it's a completely separate company. Nobody told me this until after I already bought. The automatic redirect without being upfront about it feels dishonest, even if you're working with an authorized dealer. The company behind it is based out of the Netherlands and didn't mention that when I ordered, so I got hit with a customs bill that bumped my total price up by a third. If I'd known I would've ordered from a local shop instead, which is probably why they keep quiet about it. People also report in the app store that you don't even get replacement batteries with the premium plan in Switzerland which makes sense if they don't have local support. Swiss buyers should check the subscription limits before spending money. Plus you need different login info which is annoying.
Customer service is terrible. You wait in the chat to talk to someone and they never show up. Skip this product entirely.
Paid extra for rushed shipping but my stuff didn't ship for a week. Tried canceling the order but was told it was already in processing so I couldn't. Even though it sat in processing for seven days. Told them I'd refuse delivery when it arrived. Update came through and items only showed up one day late. Not sure if they overnight shipped because of my complaint or if they just had no idea where their stuff actually was in the process.
Bought two tile pros to track my car in parking lots and both ended up showing completely inaccurate locations. There's no phone line to call so I had to email back and forth for weeks. Each rep gave me different instructions but nothing fixed the issue. Now they want me to return it but I have to pay for shipping myself.
Alexa connection is really unreliable. Even on the phone app it can't find the tile sometimes, then five minutes later it sends a message saying it found it. This happens all the time which is frustrating because when it does work it's actually pretty good.
Some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. They escalated my complaint about a defective product but never actually fixed it, then told me it's past the thirty day warranty window. They've had my tile the whole time and I'm still waiting for a refund. Now they need to escalate that too. It's been a nightmare.
