What Shoppers Say About Tulip World
Tulip World receives overwhelmingly negative reviews, with 18 shoppers rating the store 1.8 out of 5. The dominant complaint is severe shipping delays that far exceed the advertised 1-3 day timeframe, with multiple customers reporting waits of two to four weeks before orders ship despite items being listed as in stock. Customers also report difficulty reaching customer service for answers about delayed orders, and at least one reviewer experienced non-blooming plants. A small fraction of shoppers (17% of ratings) gave five stars, though the details of their positive experiences are not provided in available reviews.
The stark contrast in ratings (78% one-star versus 17% five-star with almost nothing in between) suggests highly inconsistent experiences. The core issues undermining Tulip World's reputation are unrealistic shipping promises relative to actual fulfillment times, opaque communication about seasonal delays at purchase, and customer service responsiveness that leaves customers without clear answers during extended waiting periods.

Sorted by: Most recentOn October 5th, I ordered ten packages of three different spring bulb varieties for my daughter and myself. According to the website, Tulip World ships in three days. After a week of no shipping news, I sent an email to customer service. They got back to me saying the items were in the warehouse but hadn't been unpacked yet. Over the following weeks I kept emailing them about my waiting order because I wanted to get everything in the ground before it froze solid. Finally, on October 28th, after I emailed them again that morning, I got a shipping notification that same afternoon. The bulbs arrived on October 31st. When I started planting, I noticed that several bags contained broken or partial bulbs that probably won't even sprout. Time will tell if these will actually grow in spring. I'm not sure I'll order from Tulip World next time.
Definitely read through the reviews before ordering. I made two orders and both experienced shipping delays way longer than the one to three days they advertise on the site. Even accounting for seasonal timing, which I think should be explained more clearly when you're purchasing, the items took much longer to arrive than promised. The company has really disappointed me with how long this took.
Twelve days went by after placing my order and they still hadn't shipped anything. When I asked when it would go out, they had no answer. This is not how you run a business. I won't be ordering again.
I placed an order for tulip bulbs at the end of September and still haven't gotten them. I've emailed customer service multiple times. By late October they told me the order was being prepared. I keep checking online and it's still showing as processing.
I ordered several items that showed as in stock, but after weeks went by without any shipment activity, I decided to cancel. Why does it take almost a month to pack up and send out something that's supposedly already in the warehouse? There weren't any special shipping restrictions listed either. Plus, reaching someone through email, chat, or phone proved to be incredibly frustrating. This kind of service means I won't be coming back.
Very disappointing. None of the plants produced flowers. I even posted a review about my experience but it never showed up on the site.

Out of roughly 50 bulbs I planted, only 2 actually grew (and who knows if they'll come back next year). When I tried to get help just a couple days outside the warranty window, they said they couldn't do anything for me. Don't waste your money here because you'll likely be disappointed. I had a gut feeling when I ordered that something wasn't right, and I wish I'd trusted that instinct.
This company is a nightmare to work with. I ordered fall bulbs and got one box at the end of October. I planted that one, but the second box arrived so late it was already freezing where I live. I tried calling three times and nobody picked up. When they finally called me back, I asked to return the late shipment and they refused. On top of that, I'm still missing a credit for a phlox bush they claim they can't locate, and it wasn't even applied to my order. This is the worst experience I've had. I'm done ordering from them.
I spent hundreds of dollars on bulbs that still haven't shipped more than a month later. The website listed specific dates, but the company can't even tell me when I'll actually get my order now that those dates have passed. Their excuse is that they're busy and will send it whenever they get around to it. It seems like they're in over their head and can't manage the workload. The company doesn't answer phones either. I'd suggest going with a more reliable seller instead.
