What Shoppers Say About Ultimate Ears
Ultimate Ears shoppers are sharply divided. Those who are satisfied praise the product quality itself, noting that speakers deliver strong sound performance and highlighting positive customer service experiences when issues are resolved. However, a significant portion of reviewers report serious problems with order fulfillment, shipping delays, and website functionality. Multiple customers describe difficulty contacting support and frustration with replacement processes that drag on for weeks. Battery degradation at or near the two-year mark is a recurring complaint, with some shoppers noting that non-replaceable batteries combined with limited post-warranty support options represent poor value at premium price points.
The company's customer service approach appears inconsistent. While some reviewers report helpful support teams willing to work outside warranty windows, others describe unresponsive communication channels, unhelpful chatbots, and slow resolution processes. Website navigation and order tracking are cited as pain points, and shipping reliability seems problematic, with delayed deliveries and incomplete orders creating frustration even when expedited shipping was selected.

Sorted by: Most recentI've been using Ultimate Ears Pro products for ages and thought nothing could beat what I already had. Then I opened my new Pro Premiers and wow. Absolutely incredible. Every dollar was worth it.
The speaker itself sounds fantastic, but I have to warn you about the app. Connecting two speakers together for stereo playback is ridiculously complicated. You practically need to know programming just to get them to sync up. Just skip it.
Made a mistake ordering and just wanted to return it and get the right product instead. Problem is there's basically no real customer support available. The support email goes nowhere. Their chat doesn't respond either. I finally managed to get someone on social media who told me to email a different address, which started this confusing back and forth. I explained I needed to return something. They told me it was already delivered and I needed to request a return label. I filled out the form they sent. They said they already had my return. I need to request a return label again. Three weeks later and I'm just going in circles with zero help.
This company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and for good reason. I used to like Ultimate Ears but they've gone downhill. Their products break and their customer service is nonexistent.
The company stopped making a product I bought earlier this year. My unit wasn't working right so I bought a new charger to fix it, but they finally got back to me and said it's discontinued. They offered me something similar in value or my money back. I told them the replacement they're offering is actually worse than what I had. A few days later they said forget it and now they'll only give me a 10% coupon code. This after I sent them all my receipts and information. Terrible company. Should have gone with JBL or Sony.
Customer support is a mess. My speaker quit working and after two weeks of back and forth conversations they finally sent a replacement. But they shipped it to the wrong place. I'm on the West Coast and it ended up going to the East Coast instead.
Ultimate Ears support was awful. I placed an order and tried to cancel it the same day following their cancellation process. Six days later they still shipped me the fitting kit. Then seven days after that they emailed saying I needed to return it. I sent it back and waited six more days for any confirmation that my money was actually refunded. When I finally chatted with support, only then did they actually process it. This whole thing took way too long and their customer service team is hands down the worst I've dealt with. Be prepared for a long, frustrating process if you need help.
BEWARE faulty merchandise!!! Bought this as a gift for my son. It never worked from the start. I tried returning it 60 days later, which was 10 days after he got it, and they refused because their return window is only 30 days. So if you buy early or get it as a gift too soon, you're stuck with a broken product. Their return policy is basically useless.
They advertise a 100% satisfaction guarantee but they definitely don't back it up. I bought the Fits earbuds and after chatting with tech support multiple times, I decided they weren't what was promised. I returned them right away and got a refund confirmation. But here's the problem: I was paying through a financing company, and they claim they sent the refund to them. However, my credit card kept getting charged for a month after I returned the earbuds. The financing company says they never got any refund from Ultimate Ears. Meanwhile Ultimate Ears keeps telling me it's not their problem and to contact the other company. It's been two months and this is the worst refund experience I've ever had.
I'm obsessed with my collection of UE Boom speakers. My daughter gave me a Boom 2 that made me want to buy a Megaboom. Years after that I picked up a Boom 3 and another Megaboom 3. I loved them so much I grabbed another set of both. Then for Father's Day my kids surprised me with a Hyperboom and it absolutely crushed all the other speakers I had. After years of loyalty I'm a huge fan. The app isn't my favorite, and it's frustrating they won't make a desktop version through Logitech, but the speakers themselves are fantastic.
