What Shoppers Say About Winn-Dixie Stores
Winn-Dixie Stores receives sharply divided reviews that reflect significant operational inconsistencies. Shoppers who rate positively praise the store's deals on frozen desserts and meat selections, and some highlight exceptional customer service from individual employees. However, nearly half of all reviews are one-star ratings, with customers reporting serious concerns about missing items from purchases, poor checkout experiences with long wait times and insufficient staffing, unresponsive management, and technical problems with the loyalty app.
Recurring complaints paint a picture of a store struggling with basic operational standards. Multiple shoppers describe walking out without completing purchases due to understaffing and excessive checkout delays. Others report items disappearing from bags during the bagging process and difficulty obtaining managerial assistance when issues arise. The loyalty app problems compound frustration by making it difficult to access earned rewards. While individual employees occasionally receive praise for going above and beyond, the overall experience appears inconsistent and unreliable for most customers.

Tried out their online ordering system to see how it compared to other grocery stores. Total disaster. The app's inventory doesn't match what's actually in the store. I placed an order for a specific pickup time, but then got a notification saying it was ready now, two hours early. Since I had perishables in the order and was available, I drove over to get it. When the associate came out, she said everything was there, but when I got home I was missing five items with no receipt to show I wasn't charged. Called the store and they gave me the wrong number, which connected me to some sweepstakes scam. Finally got the right number and ended up overseas where the person was completely unintelligible. After twenty minutes I explained my issue and was told to expect a refund in seven to ten business days. Absolutely terrible experience and I'm done with their online ordering system.
Showed up early in the morning with a full cart and ready to check out at 7:50am. Was informed all registers were closed and I had to use the self checkout machines. Most of the deli items weren't available yet since that department didn't open until 9am. As someone in my mid-seventies, I'm not comfortable using self checkout for large purchases. Would have appreciated having a regular register open for customers.
Talking about the pharmacy department here. I've been a customer for years and walked out disappointed nearly every single time. When you call ahead for a refill, they give you a time when it should be ready. In all my years doing this, I can remember maybe once when my prescription was actually ready at the promised time. Just one time! I'm fed up and switching to a different pharmacy. The customer service is poor overall. Would not recommend filling prescriptions here.
Had a really great experience shopping here. The bagger was fantastic and made a real effort to help me find what I needed. He even walked my bags out to the vehicle for me. Definitely appreciate the excellent service!
Giving five stars solely because of one wonderful young employee who made serious effort to help me. Most of the other cashiers have really poor attitudes and seem miserable at their jobs, and I honestly think the store should replace most of them while keeping this young woman. She's always upbeat, has a great personality, and is incredibly fast at the register. Far and away the best team member there. Unfortunately she doesn't wear a name tag or she'd get proper recognition for her great work.
Only reason for the five stars is this one incredible young woman working the register who really went above and beyond to help me out. The other cashiers have pretty bad attitudes and look totally unhappy at work, and honestly I think they should let most of them go and keep this girl. She's constantly smiling, has a great personality, and moves through transactions faster than anyone else there. She's definitely the standout employee. Wish she had a name tag so she could get the recognition she deserves.
I'm a regular here, stopping by at least weekly, but this one time I was dealing with stress and tight on time since I needed balloons for my son's graduation party. Most workers here haven't been particularly friendly over the years, aside from this one girl with pink hair who's always warm and courteous. Kevin from produce really went out of his way today to help me select and fill balloons. He was incredibly kind and professional, and really went the extra mile to make sure I got everything done and made it to my event on schedule. His help was crucial. I honestly would've had to try another store otherwise. Kevin is a phenomenal employee who should be commended, and that pink haired coworker too. Both truly stand out at this location.
I visit this neighborhood location pretty regularly, but this particular trip I was stressed and running late because I needed balloons for an important event. Most of the team hasn't been particularly welcoming in the past, though I have to give a shout out to the employee with the pink hair who's consistently kind and helpful. But Kevin in the produce department really stood out this visit. He helped me pick out and prepare a nice balloon arrangement, and he was not only super friendly and professional but went above and beyond to help me finish on time so I wouldn't be late. Without his assistance I would have had to go somewhere else and definitely wouldn't have made it. Kevin truly deserves recognition for his amazing attitude and helpful approach. Along with that pink haired employee, these two really make this store special.
This has happened to me repeatedly over multiple shopping trips. They advertise items on sale in their flyers, but when you show up the products are nowhere to be found. I've gotten several excuses over time: the shipment didn't arrive, the sale doesn't start until the following week even though it's clearly in the ad, or items just aren't in stock. Today they advertised king crab legs but had zero available, mentioning they might get some Friday. It's frustrating to make a trip early to grab advertised deals only to find nothing. If you're promoting something on sale, you should actually have it available when the sale is supposed to happen. Really disappointing customer service.
