Absolute scam

Absolute scam. The cancellation process is incredibly complicated and takes up to three days... I wouldn't recommend SEMrush to anyone.

No usage after trial, no goodwill refund

I only used Semrush during the free trial and forgot to cancel before it converted to a paid month over the holidays. I did not use the product at all after the trial.Support was polite but refused any refund or partial refund, even though they could clearly see there was no usage. Very rigid, policy-first approach with no goodwill.Decent tool, disappointing customer experience.

They deleted my 8 year business on gmb with more than 100 reviews, photos, posts and all my grid positioning. 3 weeks later and nothing has changed. They pretty much take your money and f you over and dont fix the problem they caused.

Bunch of scammers

Bunch of scammers - during the setup phase, there's a box that pops up "add additional users" - DON'T!!!It does not say anything about a price, but as soon as that trials over - you're billed a large amount extra for users you never needed. When I emailed them, they said they can't process refunds for recurring payments? Since when is this a thing? Mind you, I messaged a day after the trial expired, and I wanted to stay on the PRO+ - just not pay for users. Now they can forget about a basic subscription

Same experience as others...stay away!!

Same experience as others...did a 7 days free trial..and when i wanted to cancel, there's no cancellation button, i searched it in Google to find it and it has many stages to pass and they move also the positions of buttons in each stage, so the risk is high that you click the wrong button, and when you reach to last stage finally, they say that you have to confirm by email too..at this stage, i was too tired to pay attention and it slipped out of my sight...then no communication beforehand that your card is getting charged or not even suspension of your payment as you passed 1000 stages to send cancellation request...seeing the high price of the service, it is not a fair game and they intentionally made it like this....reaching to customer support is no help, as they say their refund policy is just for annual subscription...stay away and a good reminder for me to check trustpilot before try a new service

I signed up for what was presented as a trial, only to be charged immediately. Support later told me that I had already used a trial almost a year ago (April 2025), which I genuinely did not remember.The real issue is not the policy itself — it’s the lack of warning. There was no clear, unavoidable message saying “You will be charged immediately because you’ve used a trial before.” If there had been, I simply wouldn’t have proceeded.Support acknowledged the situation, but refused to refund the charge. When I pushed back, the case was “escalated”, the decision stayed the same, and the ticket was closed with a “this will be our final message”.Yes, this may be compliant with their terms. But it’s still a very poor customer experience: • No clear warning before charging • No flexibility or goodwill • Conversation shut down rather than resolvedFor a premium SaaS company, this feels unnecessarily rigid and short-sighted. Policies should protect the company, but not punish customers for honest mistakes.I expected better from Semrush. Not gonna use them again.

Beware of SEMrush’s Cancellation & Refund Process

I had a very frustrating experience trying to cancel my SEMrush subscription. I attempted to cancel before the renewal charge, yet I was still billed and then denied a refund.What made this worse was the cancellation process itself. Their system repeatedly sent the same automated email over and over, never progressing to the next step. At no point does SEMrush clearly disclose that these email responses are AI-generated, which is misleading and wastes a lot of time. The process only moved forward after I explicitly asked to speak with a human, something that is not clearly indicated anywhere in the cancellation flow.Even after following the steps and attempting to cancel in good faith before being charged, SEMrush refused to issue a refund.The platform itself may be useful, but their cancellation policy, lack of transparency around automated communications, and refusal to refund despite timely cancellation attempts are major red flags. I strongly recommend reading the fine print and being very cautious before subscribing.

We cancelled because the software…

We cancelled because the software simply did not suit our needs and was not what we wanted or needed for our business. There are better tools available for our use case.We requested cancellation through the account and clearly stated we did not want to continue, but were still charged because there was a second confirmation step hidden behind an email link. From a user perspective it feels like the cancellation is done when it isn’t.This led to an unwanted renewal charge that had a real impact on our small business cash flow. Support hid behind process rather than addressing the issue. Overall, a very poor experience and not something I would recommend.

Everything is broken, in terms of communication.Ticket opening contact form DO NOT WORKUpdating the ticket, via email reply DO NOT WORKBooking a Demo call page DO NOT WORKThey have HUGE communication problems, which hindered me from using their trial period properly and the refuse to give a refund which is the worst part. One of the worst customer service I ever encountered.Edit: Semrush replied that everything is operational. But it is not and there are many situations where communication ended abruptly.
