Shoppers should review Skagen's shipping policies on their website, as costs and delivery timelines vary by destination and shipping method selected at checkout. Most jewelry and watch retailers offer standard shipping as well as expedited options for an additional fee. International shipping may be available but typically involves longer delivery windows and higher costs.
Skagen Returns & Refund Policy
Customers should consult Skagen's return policy for details on the timeframe and condition requirements for returning unworn items. Skagen Reviews
Skagen receives sharply divided reviews, with shoppers either deeply loyal to the brand or frustrated by product durability and customer service issues. Positive reviewers praise the minimalist design aesthetic and quality construction, with some reporting long-term satisfaction spanning decades. Several five-star reviewers highlight that they own multiple pieces and experience no allergies or defects.
Negative reviews center on recurring product failures, particularly with watch movements, and significant customer service problems. One-star reviewers report watches stopping within months of purchase, dead batteries upon arrival, unresponsive email support, and expensive repair costs (often around $70 per service). A major complaint involves mandatory factory repairs for battery replacement and loss of waterproof seals after service. One shopper reported having a watch fail four times over roughly seven years, while another waited three weeks without receiving a refund after return, ultimately requiring credit card dispute and consumer protection intervention.
Got my Skagen watch at an airport shop almost twenty years ago and have loved it ever since. The sleek design and minimalist face are what caught my eye, and I've worn it constantly all these years. Eventually the leather band got worn at the connection points and needed replacing, but I found a perfect match on an online retailer. The watch itself has been so reliable I haven't even needed a battery change in all that time. No regrets at all about this purchase. It's been fantastic.
I have multiple pieces from Skagen and really love them. Their products are top quality with beautiful designs, and I haven't had any issues with allergies. Would definitely recommend them.
The watch arrived with a dead battery and nobody thought to test it before shipping it out. I tried reaching out to customer service by email and never got a response. I ended up paying to replace the battery myself, but now the watch lost its waterproof seal because getting that redone would've cost an extra $30 on top of what I already paid. Won't be buying from Skagen or this company again.
I purchased a Skagen watch from a local jewelry store back in mid 2017 for around $200 with a discount. Six months later it stopped working and I had to get it repaired. This became a pattern, and it's failed four times total, including twice in the last few months. I'm done with it and threw it away. It's such a letdown because the watch looks beautiful, but it's basically useless. My old Lorus watch from 2007 that cost under $100 is still going strong, and I've even taken it swimming in the ocean countless times. Skagen watches look good but they're not reliable at all. Not worth your money.
Horrible experience with their customer service. I returned items and they received them, but for the past three weeks I've been trying to get my refund with nothing but excuses. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and report them to consumer protection authorities just to get action. Would not recommend purchasing from them.
Bought my Skagen watch from a major retailer about four years back. Since then I've had to replace the battery twice and had to ship it away for repairs. Every single time it cost me around $70 including shipping. They told me changing the battery locally wasn't possible, which I found really frustrating. Overall, very disappointed in the brand and wouldn't purchase another one.
Got a watch that didn't work out of the box. Called them and they suggested I pay to have the battery checked. I arranged to send it back. They gave me a 20% discount code to place a new order, but it didn't work. After more back and forth I got a code that actually worked. Ordered a similar model. Then they cancelled that order and gave me 15% off instead. The watch I wanted is no longer available. They've lost my business. Still waiting to see if I'll actually get both refunds, but honestly I'm not holding my breath. This company is done for me.
Worst shopping experience ever. This company is completely unprofessional, careless, and terrible at keeping you informed. They basically took my money and I don't think they have any intention of giving it back. They shipped me a watch after canceling my order, and by then I'd already bought elsewhere. Getting them to tell me anything about the return status took months of trying, and they keep saying the refund went through even though I never received it. My bank had to step in and fight to get my money back. I will absolutely never shop there again. Total dishonesty and lack of professionalism. If you're thinking about ordering online from them, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere instead.
I've noticed that Skagen's build quality has really gone downhill lately. A watch my girlfriend gave me as a gift three years ago started having issues with its internal components after less than a year and a half. Just two years later, the internals needed replacing again because the second hand kept getting stuck. Neither of us will be purchasing from them anymore. Interestingly, I have an older Skagen that's over a dozen years old and still works perfectly fine.
Should've listened to the negative reviews out there. I ordered a watch twice as a birthday gift, and both times had problems. The first one arrived completely dead, which I assumed was a battery issue, so I went through the hassle of returning it and waiting ages for my refund. When I reordered thinking it had to be bad luck, the second one was also dead on arrival. I was extremely upset and emailed the company, but they told me to pay a jeweler to fix it. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I sent it back and got confirmation they received it over a week ago, but I'm still waiting for my refund. I even reached out to their parent company, but got nothing back. Really terrible service from a company selling defective products.
I own two Skagen watches that both had the same problem. They worked great for a year, but once the battery died and I got it replaced, the watch would only last about a week before losing time. I really thought Skagen was supposed to be reliable. I'm writing this to warn others not to waste their money on this brand.
Stay away from Skagen watches. There are much better options out there like Titan. Wore mine in the rain under a jacket and it stopped working. Even under warranty they wanted to charge me for repairs. The quality is really poor. Brands like Sonata and Titan are way superior.
Giving one star because I can't go lower. Do not buy from Skagen or their parent company. It appears they merged and now their support is awful. I sent my wife's watch in for a battery replacement and new strap. They emailed back saying they couldn't get the right strap, couldn't install a new battery, and couldn't even close the watch back up. They offered me a discount on a completely new one instead. So the first time it needs a battery, it's basically trash? Then I sent another watch in for a new crystal and battery. They charged me $84, claiming they had to replace the movement, case, and strap. That's basically an entire new watch, even though it was far less than the original cost. When I asked why, they said the crystal, case, and strap were all connected as one unit, which made no sense since the strap is clearly held on with screws and was fine. Got the watch back today and discovered they'd put the mesh metal strap back on upside down.
I've been wearing my Skagen watch for several years and it still looks amazing. So many people I know love this brand, and it's clear why when you see them on someone's wrist. My family absolutely raves about Skagen watches! They're definitely not outdated or going out of style. It's rare to find a company with such a great selection of pieces I'd actually want to wear. I'm definitely planning to buy from them again in the future.
