I bought Salomon shoes from them for approximately $140. Never got them. The carrier marked it delivered with a photo of it on my front porch, but by the time I checked, it had disappeared. Theft happens all the time these days and legit retailers understand this risk. What's not common is how hard Steep and Cheap pushes back on responsibility. I reached out to their team right away and got nothing. After waiting nearly two weeks, I tried again and finally got a response saying they handle stolen packages by having customers file insurance claims or contact the delivery company directly. That's ridiculous. I didn't buy insurance for shoes. I didn't contract with their delivery partner. I purchased shoes from Steep and Cheap and never received them. That should be the end of it. Nothing got refunded. No replacement offered. No real investigation. No support. Just a corporate non-answer that basically amounts to tough luck. Making someone go through their homeowner's insurance for a $160 pair of shoes is completely unreasonable and shows they don't stand behind their sales.

Ordered skis, boots, and bindings as a bundle. Got a message that the skis were unavailable. I canceled and was promised a refund through email. Then the skis showed up at my door anyway. When I chatted with support, they refused to refund it and only offered store credit. Don't buy from here!! Such a hassle!!

This is a dishonest operation. I bought a backpack, tried it on at home, and sent it back because the fit wasn't right within a few days. It was unopened besides that, came in the original packaging with all tags attached. They rejected the refund claiming the tags were off, which was completely false. Never ordering from this place again.

THESE GUYS ARE FANTASTIC!!! Not sure why anybody would rate them poorly. If outdoor gear sizes aren't something you know, that's on you. But if you want to get serious savings on top quality, brand new outdoor equipment, this is where you shop!!!!

My teenager ordered a helmet that didn't fit right. We mailed it back the next day and we're STILL WAITING for the refund even though they have had it for three weeks. Their site says you should see the money back 1 to 3 business days from when they get it. I've sent two separate emails over a week apart and haven't gotten a response. Really disappointing.

Poor service and misleading promises. I got a 15 percent discount code plus two day shipping as compensation for an earlier issue. Neither of those came through on my order. When it finally arrived, the delivery went to a local university bookstore instead of my home. I spent way too much time working with the company and the shipping company to track it down, and then it got sent to a different wrong house. After I shipped the item back, they said my refund would show up in 2 to 3 days and the rep claimed he was rushing it. Almost three weeks and multiple calls later, still no refund even though I got confirmation the return was processed on a certain date. Called again today and now they're saying 2 to 5 days again. This company is seriously lacking when it comes to order fulfillment and support. The reps all sound like they're reading from a script and just tell you what you want to hear so you'll hang up. Good luck trying to get to someone higher up than them.
