totalbyverizon.com Reviews
Total by Verizon receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 23 reviewers rating it 1.4 out of 5. The most common complaints center on deceptive billing practices (customers reporting bills higher than promised), poor customer service (long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and difficulty reaching support), unreliable network performance (slow speeds, dropped calls, service interruptions during outages), and inadequate order fulfillment (devices not arriving with no status updates). Multiple reviewers describe misleading information provided during initial sign-up and throughout their service relationship.
A small percentage of reviewers give higher ratings, though the dominant pattern shows customers expressing frustration with the overall experience. Several long-time customers report that service quality has deteriorated significantly. Common grievances include inability to transfer phone numbers without original device passwords, lack of transparency about stock availability at the time of purchase, and inconsistent technical support that fails to resolve service disruptions. Reviewers frequently mention they are actively seeking alternatives to switch providers.
I'm really disappointed. They lied to me from the very start and the lady kept lying throughout the entire process. My bill was supposed to be eighty dollars but it's more now. I'm not satisfied and I'm looking into getting my money back and going somewhere else.
I recently lost my phone and went to a store to get a new device with my existing number. They told me they couldn't transfer it without the Gmail password that's stored on the lost phone. I offered my account address, the security code, the last four digits of my debit card I use for monthly payments, and my ID, but they still refused. They wouldn't transfer my number to the new device even though I needed it for two-step verification on my Google account. They also refused to give me my account number. They acted like there was no way to help me at all.
This is the worst company I've used. I was paying for unlimited five-G service but was stuck getting four-G with barely two bars. Where I'm from in the Northeast when I traveled to North Philadelphia I'd get five-G and full signal bars. Plus I kept getting 'not connected to network' errors when trying to make calls even though my bill was paid. I'd never suggest them unless you're only staying in one specific area. I switched to Metro and have had zero problems. I get five-G service everywhere I go. Do yourself a favor and don't pick this company. You'll just be wasting your money.
I used to be with their wireless service for years and really enjoyed it, with great customer service, short wait times, and no issues. I even added three lines with the same great experience. A couple months back my mobile data quit working. After trying multiple times to reach someone and sitting on hold for hours, I finally got a rep. We spent three hours on the phone and it worked for about a week before the data stopped again. I spent many more hours waiting on hold for a rep and at one point spent two hours, then another day three hours before giving up. I tried their chat support, which took over an hour just to connect with a real person, and they weren't helpful at all. A few days later a different chat rep said he'd reprogram my phone and gave me an APN to enter, then told me to turn it off for at least ten minutes. When I turned it back on the data worked. But the next day when I tried to send a picture through messages it wouldn't go through, and the data stopped working again. I had to reset my message settings to get pictures working but lost internet again.
Their customer service is really bad. Your service disappears the second there's a power outage. The whole experience has been terrible.
A one star review is actually being too nice to them. I ordered an Apple SE phone with help from a phone agent on the fourth. Today is the sixth and I still don't have the phone or any updates about it. I chatted with support who told me it's out of stock with no idea when it'll be back in stock, so why didn't they mention that when I ordered it three weeks ago? I asked to cancel and they refused, saying they can't process cancellations on their end. They told me I'd have to wait for it to arrive and refuse it to get my money back. That's completely ridiculous. Why should I wait even longer for something I ordered weeks ago? The chat agent was condescending and took over six minutes to respond after I'd already replied. This company is a total joke. All I wanted was my money back so I could move on. I ordered another phone from somewhere else and received it in two weeks, but now that one isn't activated so I'm returning it too. I'm going to buy from a company that actually respects their customers and values the people who pay them.
Stay far away from this company. On the 30th, I paid thirty-six dollars for another month of prepaid service. Every time I pay they tell you to turn the phone off and back on, which I did, but then my data, calls, and texts stopped working. I had to stay on hold for two hours using someone else's phone while their system was apparently down. As an Uber driver, I lost a customer during that time and missed out on a twenty-three dollar ride. When I finally reached a supervisor named Vivian, she refused to give me any kind of credit or refund for the time I lost and the business I missed. I explained the situation but she wasn't interested in helping. She also wouldn't provide her employee number when I asked. Plus, the month before that I only got twenty-seven days of service before they shut my phone off. If you're thinking about prepaid service, skip this company completely.
The customer service here is absolutely awful. I could barely understand what people were saying because of thick accents. They take forever to reply and when they do it has nothing to do with what I asked about. There's always loud background noise. Honestly they should shut down their customer service department because it's completely useless. You won't get any real help and you're basically on your own. I can't believe this is Verizon's customer service. I'd be ashamed if I worked there.
Don't purchase from them. I got a prepaid sim card with airtime and spent three hours on the phone trying to activate it. First they said they couldn't locate the sim in their system, then when they found it they claimed it wouldn't activate. The staff has no idea what they're doing and nobody can tell me how to get a refund.
Don't bother spending your time with this service. I purchased a prepaid phone through them and it's been a nightmare from day one. I've been without a working phone for forty-eight hours and have wasted hours trying to troubleshoot. I decided to return it since nobody could actually help me fix the problem. When I tried to return it, they wanted to hit me with a fee just to unlock the device.
I visited the Englewood store and met with associate Rosa who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She really went above and beyond to provide an excellent experience. She knew the products inside and out. If I decide to go with them I'll definitely ask for her again.
I paid extra for a phone upgrade on a Motorola device. Less than six months later the thing started breaking down. Apps won't launch. It doesn't notify me when I have voicemails. The sound cuts out and I have to restart it every time I want to use YouTube. It's garbage. This company seems like it belongs somewhere else entirely. Their service is absolutely terrible. I've got two bars all the time. Without WiFi you might as well not bother because you'll need it to do anything. Plus nobody there speaks clear English when trying to sell you equipment. Verizon should be embarrassed about this. You're basically just MetroPCS with a different name. Total junk plain and simple.
If you're even considering changing cell phone companies, absolutely do not go to this provider. The store employee opens at eleven but usually shows up around eleven twenty. Once he gets to his computer with your info, it takes forever. The service there is really bad.
They'll overcharge senior citizens without blinking. I called to get my grandmother set up on the thirty dollar single line plan. I confirmed the price multiple times with the rep. They charged her for the sixty dollar plan instead. I called back right away and was promised a refund for the difference. A week later I called and they said they were still looking into it and to wait another five days. When I called back they told me they couldn't do anything because some data had already been used. My grandmother is ninety and doesn't use much data. She's on a fixed income and it's awful knowing there are companies out there willing to take advantage of elderly people like her. The customer service is terrible and they just give you the runaround whenever you have an issue. They created the problem in the first place and won't fix it. The company was way better before Verizon took over. Back then they actually seemed to care about their customers.
I had set up autopay on my account. When the government connectivity assistance program showed up I switched to that. Once it ended, I tried to go back to autopay but customer support just wouldn't help me set it up. I ended up losing my phone number and account after four years of being a reliable autopay customer. I tried calling for help for two weeks straight with no luck. In July I lost everything. I wouldn't recommend this awful company to anybody. I had to get a different phone and number since they refused to help.
