Chico’s FAS Savings Hacks
Check the sale or clearance section regularly, then apply an available coupon code at checkout to increase your total savings on already-reduced items.
Look for offers that reward larger purchases with bigger discounts, and plan your shopping to reach those order minimums rather than making multiple smaller transactions.
Monitor offers that include free gifts with purchase thresholds, as these add value without reducing the discount amount you can still apply.
Sign up for White House | Black Market emails to receive early notification of exclusive codes and flash sales before they appear on coupon sites.

Chico’s FAS Reviews
Shoppers rate Chico's FAS at 2.1 out of 5 based on 15 reviews, with the majority expressing significant dissatisfaction. Common complaints center on deteriorating customer service, particularly since support was moved overseas, along with slow or failed order processing and shipping delays. Reviewers report that customer service representatives are unhelpful and unresponsive, and that cancellation requests are ignored. Several long-time customers note a decline in clothing quality despite maintained high prices, with reports of garments falling apart after normal washing. Return processes are described as painfully slow, with one shopper reporting a 2 to 3 week processing window and difficulty reaching support to check status.
A smaller segment of reviewers gave positive ratings, suggesting some customers still find value in the brand, though recent reviews provide little detail on what drives satisfaction. The overwhelming pattern across negative reviews is frustration with operational failures: orders that don't ship as promised, tracking information that doesn't match reality, and an inability to reach responsive customer service to resolve issues. For time-sensitive purchases or those requiring customer support assistance, shoppers consistently report a poor experience.
The return experience was a total nightmare. I sent back the same pair of pants in three different sizes and was told it would take 2 to 3 weeks just to process the return. I kept calling to check on the status but customer service wasn't helpful. Since my credit wasn't going back on my card until the return was fully processed, my account balance kept showing all these charges and my credit score took a hit. Eventually I got a rep who confirmed all three items had actually been returned and sent me an email saying the refunds were pending.
I shopped here for a decade and really liked them, but their service quality went downhill fast and I just couldn't stick with them anymore.
Used to shop here all the time, but things have really changed for the worse. The clothing quality has taken a major hit while prices stayed just as high. Customer service got outsourced somewhere abroad and they're basically useless now. I ordered a basic tee for about $49 that literally fell apart after just one regular wash. I didn't use bleach or anything harsh, just normal detergent and followed the care tag exactly. When I tried to return it, I got the runaround about their policy stating items need to be unwashed and unworn, plus you have to pay for shipping. The fact that I had already washed it before the holes appeared didn't matter to them. I reached out through email and chat multiple times but just got the same scripted responses. Checking the reviews on that same shirt, tons of other customers had the identical issue with holes developing after washing. This has never happened to me with any other brand. It's frustrating because I used to actually recommend this place.
Placed an order for a dress on June 4th for an event coming up that month. The estimated delivery window was 4 to 7 business days so I should've gotten it in plenty of time. The package never shipped though and when I checked my status the expected delivery date got pushed to June 20th. I tried to cancel by email and through their chat but they refused to let me. It hadn't even shipped yet and it was weeks away from shipping and I couldn't cancel? Now I'm stuck with something I don't want and will either have to go return it in person or deal with paying for return shipping. I won't be ordering online from them anymore.
Regarding White House Black Market: The service is unacceptable. They moved their customer support overseas and their online chat is basically pointless. I bought pants and the order got stuck on processing for way too long. I asked about it several times and kept getting told to just wait. Then a week later, poof, order canceled with zero explanation. Getting someone on the phone took three tries with each call making me hold for over 20 minutes. When someone finally answered, they said it was because the size was out of stock, yet it was still showing available on the website. Then their chat support blamed my credit card, trying to make it seem like it was my fault. The whole thing just screams that they either have no clue what they're doing or they simply don't care. Seriously, bring customer service back to the US. Overseas outsourcing tanks your quality. And if you're charging premium prices, the products and service should match those prices.
Ordered three things for a wedding three weeks out and paid extra to rush the shipping. The blouse showed up quickly, great. But the pants and belt never actually shipped despite what their email said. When I checked the tracking, the carrier hadn't even received the package yet. After waiting over a week, I contacted them and they only asked about the blouse I'd already gotten, not the missing items. I sent what they asked for and got nothing back. Followed up again a few days later and still radio silence. By then the wedding had already happened and I'd had to find something else to wear. I'm convinced I'm never going to get a real answer from their service team and honestly I doubt I'll see those clothes or my money back either. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.
Skip this store. The prices are outrageous for the quality you're getting and the customer service is absolutely terrible. I ordered four items. Two arrived and two are still in limbo with no shipping confirmation two weeks later. When I tried asking customer service about the missing pieces, that's all they could tell me: 'I have no information on that.' They said it over and over.
Went into the store location in Arlington and had a really frustrating experience. I walked around for a few minutes looking at stuff, and nobody came over to help. Then a couple of white customers came in and immediately got greeted at the door and asked if they needed help with the dressing room. I was still browsing and picking items but got completely ignored. I'd been a regular customer too and used to get calls when new merchandise came in. Put my stuff back and walked out, came back in just to see if anyone would even acknowledge me, and nope, nothing. It's disappointing because I actually liked shopping there before. Please acknowledge every single customer who walks through your doors. If anyone else has dealt with this kind of treatment, please speak up and leave a review. These practices need to change.
Their pants are fantastic and I absolutely love shopping here for those. But I tried ordering a jacket online recently and had a totally different experience. I'm typically a 4 or 6, so I went up to an 8 for the jacket and it still wouldn't close properly. The fit is just not great if you have more of a chest. This probably isn't the best place to shop if that's your body type.
Chico's really nails it with their website interface and how they describe everything. What's really great is they actually let customers post negative feedback and they respond in a genuinely thoughtful way.
I'm honestly confused why this place gets so much criticism online. Their clothing is beautiful and genuinely well made. I have pieces from 5 or 6 years ago that I still wear all the time and they look brand new. Those items are still fashionable too and some are my absolute favorites. This store is basically my entire closet now. Their jeans, work outfits, blazers, jackets, and nice tops are all fantastic. Every so often they have a style season I don't love, but they always carry their classic black and white basics which is perfect for building a business wardrobe. Plus they rotate in 1 or 2 special colors or patterns every few months so there's always something fresh to see, and then when you come back later there's a completely new selection. Yes, it's pricey - a blazer and dress run about $170 on average and sweaters with jeans are in the $80 to $90 range. But if you're in their rewards program you get a constant 5% off plus they send promo codes for 40 and 30 percent discounts, plus bonus coupons that pop up in your account as you spend more, like $25 to $50 off when you hit $200. This is genuinely my favorite store ever and I constantly get compliments on what I wear.
This is about White House Black Market specifically. I ordered a dress after seeing a bunch of great reviews online. The dress itself looked nice but the fit was really weird, super tight on top and baggy on the bottom. Not appropriate for a work setting at all. I wrote an honest review through their site saying I wouldn't recommend it for women with larger busts. They never posted my review. After that experience, I'm pretty convinced they cherry pick which reviews they actually show so everything looks perfect. Reviews are the only real way to know what shoppers actually think, so if I can't trust theirs, that's a problem. This is my second bad purchase that had positive reviews on their site, so I'm done shopping here.
Honestly not sure where all the negativity comes from. This store has actually saved my professional wardrobe. Yeah, sometimes certain collections miss the mark, but overall I think the pieces are really solid. Almost half my work clothes come from here. They stock longer lengths which is super helpful and you don't find that everywhere. I've been buying here both in person and online for years without any problems at all.
I got a light pink suede jacket online from White House Black Market on clearance. I didn't catch the damage right away. There's a small mark hidden behind the collar which I almost kept it for, but then I spotted a bigger stain on the back lower section and a dark mark on the front where the zipper is. I emailed customer service asking if I could get store credit to return it even though I was past their return window. They just kept sending me their return policy over and over. I've bought a lot from them over the years so I figured they might make an exception. They offered me 20 percent off a future purchase instead. I said no thanks because there won't be a next purchase.
