XFINITY Reviews
XFINITY is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 16 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Recurring complaints center on technician failures (arriving without necessary equipment), unexpected billing practices (promotional rates increasing significantly after initial periods), and poor customer service responses to complaints (dismissiveness, shuffling customers between representatives, and lack of follow-through on manager escalations). Shoppers also report service outages and connectivity issues that persist despite technical visits.
A small minority of shoppers gave positive ratings, but their feedback is outweighed by the consistent pattern of operational and service failures described in one-star reviews. The most common frustration involves the disconnect between what customers are told at signup (locked-in rates, working service installations) and what they experience after becoming customers.
Absolute worst company. Technician came by my place but somehow forgot the necessary box. I got up early for nothing. On top of that I lost a channel I should have and they just don't care. When I called in to complain the staff acted dishonest.
Terrible experience all around. Technician showed up to my house but forgot to bring the equipment box. I woke up early specifically for this appointment and got nothing done. Then I lost access to a channel and when I called to complain they were dismissive. Staff on the phone acted like I was making things up.
Outages happen constantly and we've been without service for two days with no end in sight. First rep blamed our television, which made no sense. Got a different agent who actually cared but couldn't solve it anyway. After a week of terrible connectivity they sent a tech to our place but right after that the whole area lost internet for an entire day and into the evening. The service here is absolutely pathetic. We're switching along with everyone else in our neighborhood. I don't understand why they'd push mobile service when they can't even keep the internet working reliably. Steer clear of this company.
Would give less than one star if I could. Got internet service for 55 dollars per month after speaking with someone at a local location who told me my price would never go up. Bill arrives and it's doubled in cost. Called to ask about the unexpected charges and got shuffled around. The rep claimed she was getting me a manager but the system shows a different request was filed so nothing actually happened and I got a closure notification. I simply needed to discuss my situation and understand my choices but they wouldn't help. Had auto-pay enabled on my account and never told me there would be a rate increase, yet they charged me anyway which caused my bank to hit me with an overdraft fee. When I pushed back the agent said I should call back but if Xfinity had notified me before raising my rate I wouldn't be in this position. They offered 10 dollars off my next bill as some kind of apology. Shopping for another internet company now because I only want basic service and my bill hit 120 which is insanely expensive.
Wouldn't give them even one star if I had the option. I originally got internet service for 55 monthly and the store assured me that rate was locked in. My bill shows up and it's practically doubled. Called to ask what all these extra fees were about and the rep said she'd request a manager. But the ticket got recorded as something totally different and I got a message saying the case was closed with no resolution. All I wanted was to talk to management and understand what happened, which seems pretty reasonable. My account was set to auto-pay and they never mentioned prices would jump but they charged me anyway, leading to an overdraft fee from my bank. The rep suggested I call back but if Xfinity had just told me before changing my rate I wouldn't be dealing with this mess. They threw me 10 dollars credit for the next month as if that makes it better. Looking into switching to another internet provider because honestly all I need is internet without any extras and 120 dollars a month is completely out of control.
Wouldn't rate this lower if I could. Signed up for internet at 55 bucks monthly after visiting a local store where they guaranteed the rate would stay the same. Got my first bill and it's literally double what they told me. Called to ask about the mystery charges and got transferred around like crazy. Someone said they'd get me a manager but the ticket got marked as something completely different, so nothing happened. Just wanted answers about my bill and options but nobody could help. They had auto-pay on my account and never warned me prices were jumping, yet they still charged me which triggered a bank fee. Got offered 10 dollars off next month like that fixes things. Now I'm hunting for a new internet provider because I just need basic service and my monthly bill is sitting at 120 dollars which is absolutely ridiculous.
Would rate this zero if I could. Their automated phone system is absolutely dreadful and getting a human to talk to is nearly impossible. Calls disconnect through their system then from the rep then the next person won't verify who I am. I went through my issue four different times and didn't get any help. Completely maddening. Their web chat is equally useless since the AI keeps trying to push you toward paying bills rather than resolving problems.
Would give them zero stars if possible. The automated system is incredibly frustrating and basically impossible to navigate. You can't get to a real person. The phone system disconnects you then when you reach someone they hang up and the next agent won't accept your identity verification. Had to repeat my problem four times and never got anywhere. Total nightmare. Live chat support is just as bad because an AI bot keeps steering you toward payment instead of helping solve anything.
Would rate them zero if I could. The automated system is terrible and pretty much useless. Getting through to a real person is basically impossible. Calls keep getting dropped by the system then by the rep then another person won't confirm who you are. I explained my issue four separate times and still couldn't get anywhere. Just frustrating beyond belief. The web chat isn't any better either because the chatbot keeps trying to push you toward paying instead of actually solving problems.
Think they should step up their game when it comes to rewarding customers who've been loyal over the years instead of only throwing deals at new sign-ups. Would help if bills included an itemized breakdown when sent by email so you can understand where your money's going. Also, the company needs to take better care of their support staff. Pushing agents harder just creates frustrated workers who take it out on customers and then you get even more complaints. If you want to keep both your experienced people and your customer base happy, show them some respect and don't let profit margins be the only thing that matters.
Staff is courteous but the service is absolutely disappointing. My daughter's iPhone has been broken for two weeks now despite trips to two different stores and tons of calls with technical support. The problem's with the SIM card. We got the physical one swapped at a store and uploaded a new digital SIM but nothing improved. She's spent at least 12 hours on this with zero resolution, just a useless device. The phone support people are nice and apologize constantly but keep asking the same questions and having her repeat the same steps that clearly aren't working. Listening to it makes your head spin. Even escalating to a supposed supervisor was disappointing, zero new insights or practical solutions, just making her go through everything again that should have been documented in her account notes already. This is on top of a complete nightmare back in December when someone got into my Android phone. I spent about 7 hours across two store visits and hours on support calls and nothing got fixed. Even a store manager who came out to help was visibly frustrated with how broken the support system is. Time to find a different carrier.
Terrible company overall. Any discount they offer isn't worth dealing with the constant problems. Their support people are genuinely awful and give you conflicting information all the time. My bill ended up costing way more than what was quoted to me. The staff at the store told me one thing but it didn't match reality. It's pretty sad that a company with this many problems keeps operating. Wish I'd never made the switch and I can't wait until I can move on to someone better.
Possibly the worst company out there. The customer service is really bad and my billing was all over the map for months. One bill would be 50 dollars, then 65, then 150 and on and on. It took five different calls and nearly three hours of my time just to get it straightened out. I would have switched providers but I was locked into a long distance contract. When I finally sold the property and called to stop service, the support person I got kept putting me on hold and it ended up taking 42 minutes just to cancel.
Fantastic service from Xfinity. The connection has been totally dependable, no coverage gaps and I haven't had a single moment where my phone didn't work during a long road trip from Ohio to Oregon. My family feels secure knowing we can depend on it.
The location at this shopping center in Jacksonville is fantastic. Got greeted right away by an associate named Efrain who knows his stuff. He made everything easy to understand and explained the technical details great to my husband. Super professional, welcoming and got everything done fast. During our visit something embarrassing happened when a customer had a wardrobe mishap but Timmi, the associate up front, handled it with such grace and professionalism by discreetly letting them know what happened. What impressed me most was how he and another staff member acted afterward. Completely professional, no judgment or awkwardness, they just went to help the next customer like nothing happened. That takes real class. The whole store environment was excellent too, really clean and bright with some great displays. Every fixture was working. Great management and a team that deserves recognition.
