Conn's HomePlus receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 21 reviews averaging 1.6 out of 5. The most consistent complaints center on product quality and durability, with customers reporting furniture that tears, breaks, or falls apart within months of purchase. Shoppers also describe frustrating experiences with the warranty process, citing denied claims, canceled service appointments, and unresponsive customer service. Payment systems and phone lines are cited as outdated and difficult to navigate. A small percentage of reviewers report positive experiences, though these are far outnumbered by complaints about poor construction, weak materials, and unresolved warranty disputes.

The few satisfied customers appear to appreciate staff interactions, but this does not offset widespread concerns about product longevity and the company's handling of warranty claims. Multiple reviewers describe spending thousands of dollars on appliances and furniture that failed to last, with the company refusing to honor warranties or complete repairs. The volume and consistency of complaints about both product quality and customer service suggest systemic issues rather than isolated incidents.

Their payment system is a nightmare. The phone system is from the stone age and totally broken. No wonder they went bankrupt. Trying to pay them is such a miserable experience with that pathetic outdated setup.

I think we should all join together on a lawsuit against Conn's. There are way too many complaints. I bought a couch, loveseat, and recliner. Within a month the fabric ripped from normal stretching. I contacted the warranty company and they sent someone out who replaced the mechanical parts. When I told them the fabric itself was torn, they said it was under review. Months went by and I got an email saying it's not covered with no explanation.

I spent $2,600 on a TV that sat on the floor for days. They said I had to buy a mount, so I did. Four days later they finally scheduled an installation. The mount ended up being a half inch off, so the TV wouldn't mount right. My dad bought a proper mount and installed it himself. I called Conn's after six days of having the TV and canceled the installation appointment. I've been trying for months to get my $350 refund for that installation. Phil keeps saying he'll call back, but I haven't heard from him or anyone else.

Save yourself and don't buy furniture through Conn's stores or credit lines. It's nothing but frustration and unresolved problems. I've been trying since late April to get them to fix broken furniture, and they keep canceling service appointments while threatening me with collections. I'm battling to cancel a $600 warranty that they never honored. The furniture itself cost over $3,000 and now I'm stuck paying for a broken set with a damaged electrical component. Go somewhere else or you'll be dealing with a never ending headache.

The Samsung stove broke after barely using it. I travel for work so maybe I use it 15 times a year. The control panel quit working after a year and a half. Conn's says the warranty is only for one year and I didn't buy extended coverage, but I did get it on other things I bought. I've spent over $6,000 with them and never missed a payment. When I called insurance they hung up on me. When I called Conn's they hung up on me too. Super unprofessional.

The staff seemed nice enough, but my $700 bed fell apart after half a year due to weak construction and poor quality materials. Conn's refused to honor the warranty, calling it not covered. The particle board basically disintegrated without warning, leaving me stuck with a useless bed. Their products just don't hold up, and even with delivery and setup included, you'll end up with junk. Skip this place entirely. They responded to complaints online but it was completely misleading. They don't support what they sell and won't work with you when something goes wrong. You'll get dismissed if you try to get help. This company is showing their true colors and it's not good. Only buy from them if you're okay losing your money.

Run away from Conn's. I bought a washer and dryer set in June 2023 with 12 months no interest. They stuck me with $320 service contracts for each unit without my permission, plus property insurance and some kind of credit life insurance. After fighting to get all those added charges removed, my payoff was $824. The machines were $680 each plus shipping and all their sneaky extra fees brought the total to $1,839. I made my final payment of $643 on the deadline, so I've paid exactly $1,839 for the set. Now they're saying I owe an extra $633? They tacked all the interest back on because they claim my payment was late, but that makes no sense. Not happening. Please be careful out there. I wouldn't buy anything from these people. The staff was rude and two out of three actually hung up on me. I felt like I was fighting for my life just trying to deal with them. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The store staff are pleasant enough, but stay away from their appliance repair service because it's useless and a total waste of money. I called for washer repair and they told me it would be two weeks before anyone could come out. I called back several times asking to talk to a supervisor or manager but they kept saying no one could take my calls. They just don't care. I followed up with customer service and they said there's nothing they can do and no manager can speak with me because they don't want to deal with all the complaints. They lie constantly and don't give a single thought to their customers. I even contacted the store manager and still nothing happened. This is what they're trained to do apparently. They won't even respond to bad reviews because they don't care. It's a broken business model.

Don't shop at Conn's. Their furniture prices are way too high and they advertise discounts they never actually give you. They claim they don't have a return policy, but they do, they just charge you a restocking fee. Their own employees clearly don't understand their policies. And whatever you do, stay away from customer service. You'll talk to a different person every time or get hung up on. It's a complete mess.

I'm seriously frustrated with Conn's right now. Back in November we bought a fridge, stove, and dishwasher. The fridge started having problems a couple weeks ago. Tried replacing the filter, but kept getting an error code. Called them for service after trying everything we could think of. Problem is there aren't any service techs in our area. My husband was ready to haul it back to the store himself. They finally tracked down someone willing to fix it, but the company is based in Houston and we're in New Mexico. We won't see anyone until mid-June. Our fridge has been broken since late May and we've had to throw away all our groceries. Their warranty doesn't cover spoiled food of course. I'll never buy from Conn's again and I'm staying away from LG products too.

I called their customer service because I wanted to work things out on my account. I got a text saying they'd help me get current, and I'd been out of work for medical reasons. The rep I talked to was terrible. He actually told me I should have borrowed money to stay current. Seriously? You don't say stuff like that to people, especially when they're trying to do the right thing and work with you. I told him that wasn't okay and he got angry. You were rude and unkind. I'm going to call back and ask for someone different who knows how to treat people with respect. I never yelled or cursed at this guy. It's sad that I'm thinking twice about calling back because this is how they treat customers. Conn's needs to train their reps on how to actually speak to people properly. Awful experience.

My experience at Conn's HomePlus was really disappointing. The biggest problem was how they handle pricing, which feels dishonest. Items looked like they had good prices in the store, then at checkout they kept adding on extra fees and charges that weren't advertised, making the final cost way higher than I expected. It's frustrating to think you found a deal only to find out there are hidden costs making everything overpriced. The lack of clear pricing information is shady and wrong. The shopping experience itself wasn't great either. The store is poorly organized making it hard to find what you need, and the employees didn't seem to care about helping customers. I went in hoping to find decent products at reasonable prices, but Conn's fell short on both accounts. I'd suggest other shoppers really look carefully at their pricing before buying anything and be aware of what you might be charged.

Dealing with these people over the phone is awful. I pay my bills ahead of time every single month, yet they keep trying to hit me with double charges through autopay. My payment history clearly shows this happening repeatedly. When I called to cancel the autopay feature, they kept arguing that it was already off even though I could see it right there in my records. The rep just thanked me for calling and asked if there was anything else, completely ignoring the obvious problem on their end. They harass me constantly by phone and email about failed payments they caused, sometimes calling five times within two hours. Get some actual customer service people who know what they're doing instead of outsourcing. I'm done with this company for good.

I wish I could give them zero stars. I bought several furniture pieces six months ago including an expensive power recliner. Three months in the recliner broke and won't work. The repairman came out and said he'd need to order a part. That took a month and when it finally showed up it was the wrong size. Now I'm waiting almost another month for the correct part. Customer service won't help at all. Don't trust this company with your money.

James W.Feb 11, 2024

Bought a recliner and tested it in the store, worked perfectly. When they delivered the new one, the reclining mechanism was broken. The delivery guy said oh, it's just stiff because it's new, give it a couple weeks. Nothing improved. Had to wait over a month for the tech to come out and replace the broken part, but the chair still had problems. Store said they couldn't do anything about it since it was sold as is. Do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from them. They won't stand behind their products.
