Helzberg Diamonds Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Helzberg Diamonds
Helzberg Diamonds receives sharply divided feedback, with shoppers rating it 2.3 out of 5 based on 16 reviews. The store earns consistent praise for select staff members who are described as knowledgeable, genuine, and trustworthy without being pushy. However, negative reviews significantly outnumber positive ones, with recurring complaints about product quality issues (such as magnetic material allegedly blended into gold chains), rude and dismissive customer service staff, poor communication on orders, inflexible policies on returns and refunds, and a perceived lack of customer care after a purchase is made.
Common pain points include delayed shipments without tracking updates, difficulty obtaining refunds when orders are cancelled, staff attitudes that reportedly worsen when customers ask questions or seek care plans, and strict return windows with no flexibility even for loyal customers. While a minority of shoppers report excellent experiences tied to specific staff members, the majority express disappointment with service quality and product reliability, suggesting that experience at Helzberg varies significantly by location and individual representative.

Sorted by: Most recentThe staff member at the location on Maize Road in Wichita, KS is absolutely top notch. Hoping she sticks around because I've already followed her once when she switched locations and I'd do it again. She's genuine, trustworthy, never pushes you into anything you don't want, but will answer any questions you have. The way she treats people is like they're family. It's honestly fun to watch her help other shoppers. Fair warning though, I'm super particular about everything. My daughter even makes a trip from Nashville just to buy from her. The rest of the team is wonderful too. Going back today to check on something I've been hunting for. Thanks for having someone like her at the store.
Helzberg sold me a pair of 14K magnetic chains for about two grand each and they won't do anything about the problem. Apparently they blend magnetic material into the gold. It's not just at the clasp either, it runs through the whole thing.
Definitely shop around first. The employees at this place are incredibly unfriendly and rude to an almost shocking degree, especially if you walk out without buying something. And if you do purchase, get a care plan or ask questions, that's when the attitude really comes out. A younger staff member was so impolite to me that I actually had to say something about it. She just brushed me off and said it was just a Monday thing, which honestly confused me. Does that mean customers should avoid Mondays because you treat people badly then? Every other jewelry store I've ever been to has had genuinely nice staff. Now I see why there's barely any locations in my area. I'm never coming back and I'm telling everyone I know to shop somewhere with actual customer service. I'm being totally honest here because I wish I'd read reviews before giving this company my money.
Really let down by my experience with Helzberg Diamonds. I ordered 1.5 carat white gold diamond earrings for $1,399.35 on the first of December with a promised delivery by the ninth. By the fifteenth, I had nothing, no tracking info, and nobody was communicating with me even though I kept reaching out. And then the same earrings got marked down to $999 which made it even worse. The package finally showed up on the nineteenth but just got dumped on my porch with zero notice, no signature request, nothing. Leaving expensive jewelry sitting on a doorstep like that is careless and risky. Broken promises, no updates, and super unsafe handling. Been trying for weeks to get help about a price adjustment or just to get someone to call me back. They keep saying they'll hand it off to a manager but no response. I can't recommend Helzberg for anything valuable. We were planning a special moment and that got ruined. All around disappointed and still waiting for them to reach out.
Messed up on my end and picked the wrong delivery address when I placed my order on December eighth. I called right away to fix it, but they said the order needed to be cancelled completely and I'd have to start over with a brand new one. Now I've got two charges showing on my card. Multiple people told me the refund was getting processed, but two weeks have gone by with nothing. Not even a follow up text or email. The wait times to reach anyone are insane and I think they're counting on me to eventually give up. This isn't finished.
They rejected my return on a ring that wasn't even worn or resized, just because I was four days past their window. I felt really disrespected, especially considering I'm a regular who always buys the warranties and everything. They wouldn't budge even a little bit on something small like that. Honestly felt like they don't actually care about keeping customers around. They just want the money. It's a bummer because I'll keep shopping for jewelry, just probably not here. Sad to say but they lost me.
Heads up before you shop here. I was browsing at one of their locations and spotted some really nice diamond earrings. The price seemed fair enough, plus they were advertising six months with no interest financing. That deal sealed it for me, so I went ahead and bought them. I set up my account online to pay and waited for the first billing cycle to wrap up. Then boom, eighteen days later they slapped a $16.12 charge on my bill labeled a Promotional Plan fee. I never signed up for any Promotional Plan fee and I definitely would've either skipped the purchase or paid in full with my rewards card for three percent back. I called my credit card company and told them I'd pay the whole thing off right then. They said it was too late and I still owed the fee. Talked to the supervisor and got the same runaround. Then I tried calling Helzberg customer service and they said they couldn't verify the charge. I offered to send proof but nope, that wasn't good enough either. They just told me to deal with my credit card company. So basically I was promised half a year interest free, never got notified about any extra charges by Helzberg, and nobody's willing to step up and remove it.
Would honestly rate them a zero if I could. Got a ring from them about two years back and it's been a constant headache. Needs fixing every five or six months. This one's from their Michigan location. I brought it in mid-March and they said it'd be ready by early April. Nope, didn't happen. Staff was pretty rude and basically told me they'd text when it was finished. I escalated to customer service higher up and explained that the whole ring setting should get replaced. It's now mid-April and I'll be shocked if I see it back before summer ends. Just don't go there, period.
Went to the outlet location in Branson, Missouri and the whole team there was fantastic. I had to wait a pretty long time but the staff kept letting me know someone would get to me shortly. Usually I'd take off but even the other customers were nice, so I stuck around. Really glad I did. One of the employees was absolutely excellent. She had a great sense of humor, was super patient, and really knew her stuff. I honestly wasn't planning to buy that day but after talking with her, I felt way more confident about moving forward. Super happy with what I ended up getting.
Had a terrible experience at Helzberg. Sent back some rings following their return instructions exactly, and then got told they got a pair of sneakers instead. That makes zero sense. Why would I mail sneakers to a jewelry store, especially something way less valuable? And here's the thing that really doesn't add up, the package I shipped weighed one pound. Sneakers in a box weigh at least two and a half to three pounds minimum, so the weight alone proves sneakers couldn't have been in what I sent. I'm pretty confident the rings either got lost or stolen somewhere in their system, possibly by someone on their end who handled the return. This whole mess has frustrated me beyond belief. I'm done with Helzberg and I'm spreading the word to everyone. Will never recommend them. Totally unacceptable.
