What Shoppers Say About Desert Essence
Desert Essence draws praise from loyal customers who appreciate the brand's extensive selection of cruelty-free and vegan skincare and bath products, along with reliable packaging and shipping. However, the company faces significant criticism regarding customer service responsiveness and communication. Shoppers report that after placing an order, contact becomes minimal, with little information provided about cancellations or shipping status. Additionally, some customers have experienced issues with package delivery claims and feel the company deflects responsibility to shipping carriers rather than taking an active role in resolving problems.
A recurring frustration involves unclear billing, with customers noting that their card statements show different company names (such as Country Life Vitamins) rather than Desert Essence. The company's operations and customer communication infrastructure appear outdated, leaving customers who encounter problems feeling unsupported and frustrated despite the quality of the actual products themselves.

Sorted by: Most recentI had a really bad experience ordering from Desert Essence. UPS said my package was delivered, but it never showed up at my door. When I reached out to both UPS and Desert Essence about it, UPS just closed the case without ever talking to me. Desert Essence's customer service basically told me it wasn't their problem and that I needed to handle it with UPS directly, even though I bought it from them. I filed a case with Desert Essence but they completely ignored my request for help. They wouldn't refund me, wouldn't send a replacement, and offered zero support. I ended up losing money on the whole thing. It's really disappointing that they won't stand behind their shipments or actually help when something goes wrong. If you order from them and your package disappears, don't expect them to have your back.
The actual products are fine, but the way this company operates feels stuck in the past. After I placed my order, communication basically stopped. I got an order confirmation and that was all - nothing about my cancelled item, nothing about when it would ship. Another confusing thing is that my card statement shows Country Life Vitamins instead of Desert Essence, which threw me off when I was checking my transactions. I'm not sure if I'll order again honestly. This was my second purchase and I don't have the energy to constantly follow up on orders or send multiple emails trying to get answers.
Amazing selection of cruelty free and vegan options for skincare and bath products! These guys really nail their packaging and shipping every single time. I've been a customer for about 3 years now and pretty much everything I use for bath and beauty comes from them. Everything always arrives in perfect shape, and I've never had a single issue with orders. The quality of their products is outstanding. I'm genuinely loyal to this brand and plan to keep buying from them forever - I'd love to see them keep growing and add more items. They run great seasonal promotions, give away free tote bags that I actually use constantly, and they always throw in sample products too. Definitely check them out if you're looking for vegan products, you won't regret it. The sweet almond body wash smells incredible, their coconut toothpaste literally whitened my teeth right away, and the mouthwash is fantastic. But honestly, the Castile liquid soap is my favorite thing they make - it completely fixed my dry hands problem. Seriously, I haven't changed anything else in my routine for the last 3 years except using that soap, and my hands haven't been dry even once since then!
