What Shoppers Say About Yumi Kim
Yumi Kim receives a 1.0 out of 5 rating from 5 reviewers, with every review rating the store one star. Shoppers report serious dissatisfaction with the return policy, which provides only store credit rather than refunds and charges an additional $15 shipping fee on exchanges. Customers also cite concerns about high price points (typically $200-300 range), declining product quality compared to older purchases, and inconsistent customer service practices such as delayed promo codes and lack of compensation when sales occur shortly after purchase.
Multiple reviewers describe feeling trapped by the credit-only return system, noting that unsatisfactory purchases require spending additional money on new items rather than recovering their original investment. Quality concerns include fabrics that deteriorate despite the brand's premium positioning, and fit issues that cannot be easily resolved given the restrictive return terms. The combination of high prices, strict return policies, and perceived quality decline has prompted shoppers to characterize the shopping experience unfavorably.

Sorted by: Most recentI have to agree with other people here about the terrible return policy. Also, what happened to the quality that Yumi Kim used to have? Years ago I got this gorgeous chiffon dress with ruffles and wrapped buttons from another retailer and it's still beautiful. Now I've got store credit that's been sitting around for over a year and I literally can't find anything worth buying. I'm hoping they still honor it, but I have no idea when it expires. They haven't launched anything new in ages.
The prices are really high, and despite what they claim about accepting returns, the actual policy is basically just exchanges. They mark down your credit and charge another $15 for shipping. If something doesn't work out, you're stuck having to purchase something different in the $200-300 range instead of getting your money back.
Don't expect to get your money back from this brand. They only give store credits instead of refunds. I ordered a couple of dresses to wear to a wedding but neither fit right and the quality wasn't what I expected. When I tried to return them, I found out they only offer store credit. After going through the trouble of sending things back and reordering, I had the same fit and quality issues again. I ended up doing this three times before I just gave up and kept stuff that doesn't fit or that I'm unhappy with. The sizing is all over the place and the quality seems inconsistent, which is probably why they force store credits on everyone instead of actual refunds. Pretty disappointing.
I had promo codes that weren't working for two days after signing up through their SMS and email list. I reached out to a rep about getting a bigger discount on a dress I needed to order for an event coming up soon. The very next day, the whole site went on sale for 25% off. A company that actually cared about customer service would have given me a heads up and had the rep manually apply an extra 10% to make up for the delay and the problems with the codes not working. When the rep said she couldn't do anything to make it right, there was zero explanation. It looked even worse when I saw that sitewide discount pop up the following day. I really do like Yumi Kim as a brand, but there are plenty of other places I can shop, and I'm going to take my business somewhere that actually knows how to treat customers right.
This is a total scam operation. I bought an expensive dress for a wedding back in March that I was really looking forward to wearing. I figured with a brand like this, I'd be getting quality that would hold up. That wasn't the case at all. The dress sat in my closet for 4 months without being worn, and when I finally pulled it out to wear it, the sleeve material just fell apart. I thought they'd fix a manufacturing defect without question, but they told me tough luck because I didn't return it within 48 hours. Who tries on a wedding dress that quickly? It's obvious they don't stand behind their own products. I've tried talking to them multiple times and gotten nowhere. They clearly don't value their customers. Don't throw your money away on this.
