Tracfone Wireless Inc Savings Hacks

Track offers and check back often

SafeLink promotions rotate regularly through affiliate partners. Check the offer list at the top of this page for what is live today, and revisit frequently to catch new deals on service plans or device bundles.

Compare plan tiers before redeeming

Review all available service plan options and their base pricing. A promo code may provide better value on one tier over another, so calculate the final cost with each code applied to ensure you get the best rate.

Look for seasonal and promotional windows

SafeLink typically runs promotions around holidays and back-to-school periods. Waiting for these known promotional windows can sometimes yield deeper discounts than everyday codes.

Verify device eligibility

Some offers apply to specific phones or device bundles. Before adding a code, confirm that your chosen device qualifies to avoid checkout surprises.

Tracfone Wireless Inc Shipping Policy

SafeLink Wireless typically ships phones and service kits via standard carrier delivery. Review the product page and checkout for estimated delivery times and any applicable shipping costs; many promotions may offer free or discounted shipping. Contact SafeLink customer service if you need to confirm shipping details for your specific order.

Tracfone Wireless Inc Returns & Refund Policy

SafeLink Wireless maintains a return or exchange policy for devices and services, though terms vary by item and circumstance. Tracfone Wireless Inc (operating as SafeLink Wireless) receives sharply divided feedback, with shoppers either praising the company's mission to provide free or low-cost phone service to underserved populations or expressing frustration with operational issues. Supporters appreciate the accessibility of service for those facing financial hardship and the company's commitment to bridging gaps in connectivity. However, the majority of reviews cite significant problems: misrepresentation of device specifications (old phones marketed as new 5G models), long wait times for customer service (sometimes over an hour), difficulties with number transfers, unresolved billing issues, data service failures, and complaints about customer service communication quality. Many reviewers note a perceived decline in service quality since the company's acquisition by a major carrier.

Common pain points include inadequate staff training or language proficiency for support interactions, lengthy delays in processing benefits applications and account activations, and a sense that the company no longer prioritizes individual customer concerns. While some long-time customers acknowledge staying with the service despite recent issues, the overwhelming majority of recent reviews suggest serious operational and customer service challenges that undermine the company's mission of serving vulnerable populations.

I genuinely appreciate what this company is doing. Having access to phone service is no longer just a nice-to-have, it's essential. Most people don't realize how many obstacles stand in the way of folks facing financial hardship who can't afford regular service. This company gets it and offers free options to qualified users like me who would otherwise be completely without a phone. Removing these barriers opens doors that can genuinely transform someone's life. Because of their service, I've been able to reach local resources for help, list a dependable contact number on job applications, stay in touch with my family when I needed it most, move around safely knowing I could call for help if needed, and get back online. These feel like basic things to most people, but they meant everything when I didn't have them. I'm grateful to have found my footing again and plan to upgrade my plan once I'm financially stable.

This company is peddling old phones in boxes marked as new 5G models. I bought two Galaxy A16 phones from them because I wanted to ditch monthly phone bills. My phone activated fine in two days with my number transfer handled correctly. But my son's phone arrived and two different agents told us it was a 2G device that needed to go back. How are they packaging 2G phones in 5G boxes and selling them as current? I was furious and contacted the retailer to demand a refund immediately, asking them to check other inventory this company might be shipping out since they're selling defective merchandise as new. I'm planning to file a complaint with the FCC about this since they're affiliated with a major carrier, which probably explains the terrible customer service and complete lack of accountability. The fact that they outsource to overseas service centers with agents who barely speak English just makes everything worse.

The problem is that not enough staff there can speak English fluently. That doesn't save this company anything, it just drives customers away. Since they're now owned by a major carrier, they don't care about our issues at all. They're too big now and have plenty of other customers, so they don't need people like us.

I applied for my monthly benefits and ended up waiting almost a month before I had to call support myself. The customer service call was ridiculous, taking over an hour while I'm trying to handle emails and messages at the same time. It was such a headache and honestly I'm still not confident everything is actually resolved. I should be getting a credit for the half month I didn't get service, but right now I'm just frustrated because this shouldn't have been this complicated.

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. They clearly have no idea how to handle a simple phone number transfer. I recently lost my job and really need access to their free service, plus I need to keep my current number since it's listed on my resume. My previous provider still has my account active since my family member uses it, so the account details haven't changed. I even showed them official documentation of my account number, but they were incredibly dismissive and rude, insisting it was wrong. I wasn't even able to get set up with a new number. The whole thing was a nightmare because they were so fixated on arguing about my account information instead of actually helping me. Honestly, their customer service is about as bad as it gets.

I've been with this company under different names for a few years now, but recently the customer service has gone downhill fast. Out of nowhere my data disappeared on the second day of the month, which has never happened in all my time with them, even though I have internet at home and barely use it outside. Calling support was basically pointless because they don't even know what they're doing. When they finally called back it showed up as a different carrier name, which just confused me even more. I'm not even sure who I'm paying at this point anymore. They've also got an automated system that doesn't cover all hours, and if you accidentally accept something the system pushes you to buy, you can't get a refund for the wrong item. One agent couldn't even help me log in. After three years I'm done and switching companies. People should know this is ridiculous and they're just taking your money while apologizing.

This service is really solid. No dropped calls, the data speeds are pretty decent, and they actually give you more data than other companies out there. You get unlimited calling and texting plus 10 gigs of high-speed data with slower speeds after that. The customer service is decent too, though you might need to call a couple times to get things settled. For a free service, it's really impressive. They even replaced my phone no charge with a decent model. I'm getting full bars almost everywhere I go.

Their customer service representatives are constantly dishonest. They talked me into buying a SIM card that never worked. Even the one they mailed to me didn't work. I spent an hour trying to get connected. They claimed my PIN and codes were wrong even though I got the texts with that information.

Amanda S.Aug 27, 2024

I'm genuinely confused about why people trash this company so much. My financial situation made it impossible to have a phone or internet, and in today's world everything is done online anyway. Over a year of service and even the couple times I've needed customer support, they've been helpful and solved things quickly. Coverage is solid even with a budget phone. For anyone dealing with temporary money problems, this is a great choice.

Jessica H.Aug 27, 2024

I'm honestly puzzled by all the negative feedback about them. Right now I'm in a situation where I wouldn't have phone or internet access otherwise, and let's face it, everything requires internet these days. I've been a customer for over a year and the couple times I needed help, their support team was responsive and fixed things fast. The signal is solid even though I'm using an older phone model. If you're going through a rough financial patch, this is honestly a solid option.

Really disappointed with this company. They ended up shutting down my number with zero explanation. They randomly disconnect accounts for no reason at all. Find literally anyone else to go with. The random disconnections without explanation are the worst, and when you call support they basically tell you to reapply from scratch, which means you lose your number. Don't even think about transferring your number to them because they'll lose it.

I've been dealing with incredibly frustrating problems with both of these carriers that have left me extremely unhappy. My SIM card got disabled after I asked for a phone number change because someone was targeting my line with scams. That stopped me from making calls or getting verification codes I needed to access my bank account. I bought a new SIM card and service plan to fix it. But now they're claiming there's an IMEI mismatch that prevents activating my new SIM card. I provided my PIN and tried verifying my account using phone numbers from the last sixty days they specified, but they keep insisting on this same verification and I can't activate my purchased service. I've spent over eight hours on phone calls with different support people and haven't gotten any real help. I'm out real money because I have service plans I paid for but can't use. I'm really upset with the support I received.

My phone isn't working right. It's an older Moto model I bought to get away from my previous phone. I bought that one myself before trying this. Now this Moto only functions when connected to internet. I'm also paying a lot out of pocket to keep my other service active. I got a flip phone through a retailer for my backup. That didn't work either. My old Moto barely keeps a connection and information cuts out constantly. Can someone please provide me a replacement card or fix this situation.

Second time dealing with this LifeLine provider and it's been a nightmare. They approved my application through their website but then claimed they don't service my area. Two weeks pass and suddenly a phone shows up that I never ordered or requested. I took the SIM out and put it in my own device instead, and surprisingly everything worked including Wi-Fi calling. But then when I tried to move my number over, they demanded I buy another SIM card. When I asked for a supervisor, they refused, then suddenly said they could help. After five minutes of nothing, they promised to call back in two hours. One hour later my service just stops. An automated call comes through and hangs up twice. I had to use another line to reach them. The second rep gave me the same story about needing a new SIM and refused supervisor access before hanging up on me. As a bonus, that phone they sent without my permission doesn't even work without the SIM they gave me.

Nicole C.Aug 30, 2023

Their service intentionally gets slower every month and it's awful. I dealt with dropped calls and people couldn't hear me clearly even when I had full signal bars. I had to step outside for anyone to actually hear my voice. Their support team was unhelpful and kept disconnecting on me. Getting my port information out of them was like pulling teeth and took two attempts.
