booking.com cancellation

You can cancel your reservation on Booking.com; however, keep in mind that the cancellation policy is determined by the property, not by Booking.com itself.

Whether you’ll be charged a fee depends on the hotel’s terms, which are clearly listed in the “Your Choices” section of each property’s page. Always review this section before booking, as any cancellation fees or extra charges will be handled by the property.

How to Contact Booking.com Customer Support

For quicker assistance, log in to your account through the customer support page. Don’t have an account? You can still access your booking by entering your confirmation number and PIN code. Once logged in, select the reservation you need help with and send a message. This will automatically include your booking details for faster service.

Top Booking.com FAQs

1. How much does it cost to cancel a Booking.com reservation?

It depends on the hotel’s policy. Some let you cancel for free up to 7 or 14 days before arrival, but if you cancel too close to the check-in date, you may be charged 50% of the total price. Always check the cancellation policy before booking.

2. Do I need to pay for the hotel in advance?

Sometimes, yes. Prepaying can guarantee your room and give you peace of mind. If anything goes wrong, the hotel usually has to offer you a similar or better place to stay.

3. Is it cheaper to book hotels last minute or early?

Not always! While many people think booking early saves money, you can often get better prices by booking last minute, depending on hotel availability and demand.

Booking is a paradise for scammers.

Booking is a paradise for scammers.I experienced a security breach via Booking. After making a hotel reservation. I was contacted via whatsapp by a person asking mento confirm the Booking via a number of links, which of course I didn’t do. The contact number for Booking is a useless AI tool. There’s no one you can report this to. Sending a message, I received an automated reply. Just useless.I

Booking Helps Scammers

Booking has recommended a property that scammed me. I have been trying for months to get a refund on 500 dollars, as the property cancelled my booking after taking my money. They request the information. I send them the information that they requested in writing. They then proceed to say that it'll be resolved in 48 hours, that they have all the necessary information. They then send an email 48 hours later, requesting the same information.

Looting money using fake properties

I was using booking.com for almost 10 years and the experience was quite smooth. However, my recent transaction with Booking.com was bitter as I was cheated of Rs.2500 by a fraudster via booking.com. I wasn't the only one to be cheated by this fraudster. There are many complaints against this fraudster who is repeatedly cheating customers of their money via booking.com. I lodged a case with booking.com but they are not ready to refund my money. In fact, booking.com is the one looting money from customers using fake properties registration on their site.

Reservation missed at hotel, turned away and refusing to refund.

I made a reservation for a single night at a hotel in Pigeon Forge TN USA for 12/26 - 12/27. When I arrived to check in, the hotel had no record of my reservation, and no available rooms. Booking.com customer service has been incredibly slow in responding, and recently told me this was a non-refundable rate so they will not refund my money. This is horrible - I paid for the room in advance through booki g.com, they confirmed the reservation, yet I was turn away when I arrived at the hotel and now they're refusing to refund my money for a reservation that I was denied upon arrival. I will never use booking.com again, this has been a terrible experience.

I booked and paid for a hotel in…

I booked and paid for a hotel in Marrakech two weeks in advance. When I arrived at midnight, the hotel was overbooked and refused my entry.I called the Booking.com hotline. They told me to wait for 45 minutes and promised they would find me an alternative hotel and cover the costs. I waited in the middle of the night on the street in a foreign country, trusting their word. After an hour of waiting, instead of help, I received a cold email saying: "We are sorry, the hotel is full. You have to find a new hotel yourself. We cancelled your booking for free."This is absolutely scandalous! A "free cancellation" is not a solution when you are stranded at 2 AM in Morocco. They wasted my time with lies and put my safety at risk. I had to change my entire 8-day trip to Agadir because of this nightmare.Booking.com broke their contract and showed zero responsibility. Avoid at all costs!Booking ID: 5850816059

Booking.com works well until something…

Booking.com works well until something goes wrong. I made 14 bookings for an extended holiday. 13 were fine, one I unfortunately came across a scanmer who took the money and refused to allow me access to the apartment. Booking.com is difficult to contact. I finally found a phone number via Reddit. You then have to pass through AI before you get to speak to anyone and then they just say it’s up to the accommodation provider to decide if I get a refund! Obviously the scammer (who now (since I booked) has many, many reports on the booking.com website of not allowing people access to the apartment) is not going to give me a refund! Booking.com does not care if there are scammers on the site, which means that as a customer, you can’t trust anyone advertising their properties even though most are honest. Would not use the site again.
