I gave them one star only because I don't think the rating system lets you go lower. Bought 2 pairs of shoes back in August. After about three months of wearing the blue pair, the sole cracked and let water in. They did give me my money back on that one as a special gesture. Started wearing the beige pair next and the same thing happened. This time they refused a refund. Said they can't break their policy about no refunds after three months. I pointed out that most people wear one pair at a time, not both simultaneously. They won't budge from their rules, and I won't budge from being honest about my experience, I just don't have a three month cutoff for telling people about it.

I've bought from Chums for years and have always had quick delivery and good quality merchandise that matches what you pay. But lately I've tried reaching out through their online contact form three times about a problem and haven't heard anything back. Since phoning them is difficult for me, I've had to give up. Unfortunately I'll be finding a different place to shop.

Would give zero stars if possible. Ordered puzzles that came in completely wrong, called to report it, and they said no problem we'll send the right ones but you need to pay for them again plus express delivery. My mother paid up, naturally it was another disaster. Can't get money back for the first set until they receive it. They scheduled five different collection dates that nobody showed up for. Then a letter arrives saying the puzzle is now out of stock and we need to call for a refund. Called and asked what century they plan to pick up the other package since five dates came and went with nothing. Still won't refund until it's back at their warehouse. Finally got refunded for the out of stock item but not the shipping charges since we're returning something they actually never sent. Six weeks of this nonsense just arguing about postage. Eventually both refunds came through but what a process.

Placed an order on December 8th for my dad's 84th birthday on the 15th, but it never showed up. I was hoping it might at least arrive before Christmas, but that didn't happen either. Once New Year's passed, I emailed to complain and heard nothing back. I followed up with another email, still nothing, and then randomly the package finally turned up on January 13th. That's over a month late with zero apology or explanation. As someone who covers consumer affairs professionally, I'm telling people to stay away from this retailer.

I seriously question how this business stays afloat. Previously, I was hit with a shipping charge on a large order even though I thought it qualified for free delivery. This time around, I triple checked everything to make sure I wouldn't get charged the £7.95 fee again, but guess what, they slapped it on anyway. I've sent three separate emails requesting a credit for that fee and got absolutely nothing back. To top it off, they even charge you to call them! Every catalog they send from now on is getting marked as unsolicited junk and sent right back.

Emailed about a missing order twice with no reply. Called and was told to hold tight. After a week I called back, then again. On the second call they said it was going through right then. It wasn't. Called once more and found out they never even sent it through the first time. Now I'm told it's on its way and we'll see. Customer service here is really bad.

STEER CLEAR... SERIOUSLY DON'T SHOP HERE. They actually BILL you just to put in an order!!! This is absolutely unacceptable and Trading Standards really needs to look into this.

My feet have been giving me serious trouble lately, so I grabbed a pair of size 12 leather shoes with cross straps and velcro on clearance for £24. They're comfortable, lightweight, and fit really well. Sure, I wouldn't have picked this style years ago, but my aging feet need comfort above all else. For the price, these shoes are outstanding. The one downside is that the soles are quite soft and tend to pick up little bits of debris pretty easily. Nothing major, just something I noticed. The shoes are definitely worth the money and super comfy.

This is only my second time ordering, but I'm impressed. The clothes are good quality and the prices are reasonable. Everything fit perfectly. Thanks a lot. I'm definitely going to be buying from Chums a lot more going forward.
