Hoover Reviews
Hoover is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 22 shoppers, with reviews split sharply between one-star and five-star ratings. Shoppers who gave positive ratings appreciated the products themselves, though specific praise is limited in available reviews. However, the dominant complaint across negative reviews centers on customer service failures: unresponsive support teams, warranty claims denied or mishandled, slow or failed deliveries despite promises of next-day shipping, and issues with service technicians leaving damage and mess during repairs. Multiple reviewers reported difficulty reaching customer support at all, and several described feeling dismissed or mistreated when attempting to use protection plans or warranties.
Product durability concerns also emerge in reviews, with shoppers reporting that items failed within months of purchase (shampooers losing clips, washing machine tumble functions breaking). Combined with the service issues, these failures became compounded frustrations when warranty support proved unhelpful or unresponsive. The pattern suggests that while some customers have had satisfactory experiences with Hoover products, a substantial portion encountered serious problems with both product longevity and the company's ability or willingness to resolve complaints through its warranty and support channels.
Hoover products really disappointed me. I got a hoover shampooer back in October 2025. It was fine at first but stopped working right in late February 2026. The front attachment broke off and wouldn't stay clipped on, so I contacted the company. After a bunch of back and forth emails, sending a video, pictures, and having a phone call, they told me the nozzle was damaged. The representative said he could get me a replacement part. Turns out there's only a 90-day warranty on parts. I'm switching to different brands going forward.
I bought this item back in October and also paid extra for a protection plan. The product turned out not to work like it was supposed to. When I reached out to support to use my warranty, I was let down completely. Instead of helping me, they said I shouldn't have purchased it in the first place. That's completely unprofessional and not okay for someone who paid for warranty protection. I'd advise others to look elsewhere.
Not long after I purchased the washing machine, it got added to my account. According to what they told me, this would give me an additional 5 years of coverage. No confirmation paperwork came, but the machine showed up under my profile. Fast forward two and a half years and now the tumble function isn't working right. When I called them, they said they don't have my information in their system anymore, so repairs will be on my own dime. Absolutely terrible service, so I'd suggest looking at other brands instead.
Technician came out to replace the drum on my washing machine. The visit was a disaster. My kitchen was left completely messy with no effort to clean up after themselves. There was debris and water all over the floor, and they actually broke the kickboard under the cabinets by snapping the bracket into two pieces. The kickboards weren't even put back straight which created big gaps, plus dirty fingerprints covered everything. To make matters worse, the detergent drawer didn't line up correctly and the washing machine started banging against the cabinet door because it wasn't reassembled properly. When I contacted Hoover about the damage to my 2-year-old kitchen, they basically told me to file a claim with my homeowner's insurance or get quotes from licensed contractors for repairs. They didn't seem concerned at all about what they'd done. On top of everything, they left a huge cardboard box with the old drum on my driveway that I had to haul to the dump myself. I can't imagine what someone elderly would do with that situation. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating.
Horrible experience. There's basically no customer service, they claim they offer free next-day delivery but my order didn't ship for over a week. When they didn't respond to me, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. My bank reversed the charge and I eventually got my money back. The whole thing was extremely stressful.
I really wouldn't give them any stars if I had the option honestly. The main problem is you literally cannot reach their customer service department. I kind of feel like I got ripped off. I'm trying to return a carpet cleaner but can't get anyone to respond.
Called Hoover to get the code to unlock the child lock on my tumble dryer because it stopped working. All they tried to do was sell me insurance. I will never purchase Hoover products again.
The 15% discount they offer for giving your email and phone number is basically a trick. Even if you've never actually purchased from them, if you've ever visited their site and entered your email, you're apparently not eligible. Check out Bissell instead.
Really disappointed with Hoover. I had a fridge freezer for six years and bought insurance through them. They came out six times to fix the same issue and refused to replace it. Paying for that insurance felt like a total waste of money. Very upset with the whole situation.
We purchased a Hoover H-Wash and Dry 300 Lite model back in February 2024. Since we got it, the fabric softener compartment keeps filling up with water after every single wash cycle. We've tried everything - followed all the online guides, taken out and cleaned the drawer multiple times, checked for clogs, ran cleaning cycles - nothing works. There's nothing visible blocking it but the issue continues. The customer service has been awful on top of it all. After just 14 months the machine is broken and I tried calling Hoover. I had to sit through lots of unnecessary information and then the call dropped right before connecting me to someone. I also tried their WhatsApp option and that was just as bad. It seemed like I was talking to an automated system that cared more about marketing and titles than actually helping me. Even when I explained my problem repeatedly, the responses made no sense. This whole thing has been really disappointing from both the product and support perspective. I expected a lot better than this.
This company is misleading. They advertise 10 years of parts warranty after you register, but when you call them they say it's only 1 year. They also don't stock replacement parts for my washing machine even though I only bought it just over a year ago. They want to charge 160 pounds just to have someone come look at a broken hinge that honestly anyone could fix. It's shocking that they're allowed to operate.
My washing machine came with what they called a 10-year free parts guarantee but it turned out to be a complete ripoff. What they actually offer is free parts, but then charge 160 pounds just to come check it out. If they can't fix it, you still owe 80 pounds. I ended up calling an independent repair person and it cost only 75 pounds. So basically you're getting nothing free. It's either 80 pounds if they can't fix your problem or 160 if they can, but you could get it repaired elsewhere for 75 pounds. They shouldn't be allowed to advertise this as a free perk when it's actually more expensive than every other repair shop. I'm done with Hoover and Candy. They outsource the work and take a huge cut. The authorized company they sent also tried to push me toward an even pricier option which was pretty funny. Just be aware this is a scam.
This is a terrible company. I ordered a new machine but the buttons don't work. I spent over a week trying to get ahold of Hoover to request they pick it up with zero response.
I had to get an engineer to fix my tumble dryer. They sent someone from a company called Kent Premium Appliances. They kind of fixed it but the filter wouldn't fit back into the dryer properly. I reached out and someone said they'd have the engineer contact me to sort it out, but I never heard from them again. I sent texts, left voicemails, and emailed for 3 days and then 2 weeks total with no response. Finally I called Hoover directly and the lady there was wonderful. She got one of their own engineers out to me, who installed a new part and everything's fine now. The engineer was really nice and knew what he was doing. Honestly, I think Hoover needs to stop using Kent Premium because this isn't even the first time I've had major issues with them.
I needed a service technician to come check my Hoover Wizard washing machine. The detergent dispenser was jammed and wouldn't come out. They texted me that morning with a 2-hour window for arrival, and the engineer even called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He was a young, polite guy who wore shoe covers which I really appreciated. He figured out the problem quickly and got everything working.
