About Hotels.com

Ready to find the perfect stay for your next trip? Hotels.com started over three decades ago with a clear goal: to make booking travel simple.

Originally a telephone service, it grew into a global online platform, connecting travelers to an incredible range of places to stay, from hotels to vacation rentals.

What makes them special is their dedication to helping you find the right place at the right price. With their easy-to-use website and app, Hotels.com gives you the tools to explore and book with confidence, ensuring you have a seamless experience from the first click to your final stay.

Redeeming Your Hotels.com Discount Code

  1. After finding the perfect hotel on Hotels.com, proceed to the payment page.

  2. On the payment screen, look for the option that says "Use a coupon", which is usually located below the payment details.

  3. Enter your promo code into the box.

  4. Click "Apply" to see your discount reflected in the total.

What To Do If Your Hotels.com Discount Code Isn't Working

  • Make sure you typed your Hotels.com discount code correctly.

  • Ensure your order meets any requirements, like a minimum purchase amount.

  • Be sure the discount code is still valid and hasn't expired.

  • If you're still having trouble, try a different Hotels.com promo code from Retail Coupons.

Combining Hotels.com Coupons

You cannot combine or "stack" multiple Hotels.com promo codes on a single booking. The site generally allows for only one coupon to be applied per reservation.

What Is the Hotels.com Refund Policy?

For Hotels.com, getting a refund for your booking depends on the specific rules of the hotel or property you chose.

The most important thing to remember is that Hotels.com does not set the refund policy; the hotel you booked with does.

Before you book, you'll see the hotel's cancellation policy. Some rooms are non-refundable. Others let you cancel for free up to a certain date.

If a refund is possible, Hotels.com sends the money back to your original payment method.

For credit cards, they do this in about 24 hours, but it might take your bank up to 7 days to put the money back in your account. If you paid with a gift card, you'll get a new gift card with the refund amount in about 4 hours.

What You Need to Know About Hotels.com One Key

Want to get the most out of your travels? Say hello to One Key, it's a free club for travelers that combines Hotels.com, Expedia, and Vrbo.

When you book a trip, like a hotel, flight, or rental car, you will earn OneKeyCash. This is basically money you can use for your next trip.

The more you travel, the more benefits you get. The program has different levels (Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum). As you move up, you get better discounts and special perks, like room upgrades at certain hotels.

Hotels.com Customer Service

You can visit their Help Center and use the virtual agent to get quick answers to your questions. The virtual agent can also connect you to a live person if you need more help.

If you prefer to call, their customer service team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For the most accurate and current phone number, it's best to check the Hotels.com website after you've signed in.

Avoid at all cost! Fraudsters

They advertised that you could reserve the room and would not be charged yet... total fraud. Charged my card for the entire amount due. Trying to get a hold of them means going around in circles. Avoid at ALL cost !! I will be filing a complaint with the AG for bait and switch advertising

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE HOTELS.COM if you need to adjust your reservation You are entirely out of luck. I had booked for December 19th through the 22nd and called to adjust my reservation. And they did not could not help me. They would not adjust the reservation even though I got in the protection plan.

Long time user will never use again....

I had used Hotels.com for year and years with no issues. The website was straightforward and clear about reserving with or without a deposit, and cancellations fees. They even had a stellar direct line for regular / preferred (Silver) users who were excellent at providing assistance when things went wrong. Today the service is abysmal, and the website is very misleading. You try to book for certain dates, and when you select a hotel to book the dates have changed. Additionally, despite being advised "you will not be charged now", you get charged every time you make a reservation. Also, be sure to watch for the cancellation policies, even if there is one, you may find (as in my case) that the cancellation fee is the entire amount of the reservation. They will never correct their wrongdoing, and blame issues on the website being a bit "buggy". Absolutely no transparency and horrible service. After year of using them and enjoying them, I will never book with them again and wish them increased failure as a brand who obviously doesn't care a bit about their client. They are deserving of their score here on Trustpilot.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. the worst thing about this company and is that they won't even let you review them without having completed a hotel stay. That means their booking problems remain invisible! I lost $150!I was close to my cancelation deadline by 1 hour, but I had to cancel. The app DIDN'T ALLOW ME to cancel! I tried everything. Finally I found a phone number, but it was useless because the representative asked questions I couldn't answer. She didn't bother to ask my name, credit card, hotel, phone number, email, etc. They never sent me a confirming email! From the phone quality it sounded like the call was routed to England. By the time taken with this useless effort, I was over the deadline.

Never Again

I had a reservation booked through Hotels.com and needed a simple date change, shifting my stay from checking in on the 19th and out on the 21st to checking in on the 18th and out on the 20th.Because this was booked through a third-party, the hotel told me the change had to be handled by Hotels.com. That is where the problem started.I called and also chatted with Hotels.com support. Both agents told me they were unable to reach the hotel by phone. Meanwhile, every single time I personally called the hotel, they answered immediately. So either Hotels.com did not actually attempt to contact the hotel, or their process is so broken that basic communication fails.Either way, I was stuck in the middle with no resolution and no accountability. This experience made it very clear that booking through a third-party strips you of control when something goes wrong. I will never book through Hotels.com again. In many cases, booking directly with the hotel is just as affordable, and at least you are dealing with someone who can actually fix the issue.Save yourself the frustration and book direct.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. The hotel agreed to a refund but hotel.com so inefficient and had to go on the chat and explain the situation over 4 times but still unreliable and unresolved. I have been a member for over 10 years and when something goes wrong you enter some huge bureaucratic customer service loop.

Ripped off and out of pocket

Made a booking that gave the option to pay later for £502 more yet the full amount was taken straight away including the £502 extra! Overcharged due to a fault with their systems and now trapped as if I cancel risk losing the room as it’s a small boutique hotel. Slow communication and out of pocket!

Hotels.Com Inflate The Rates and Lie

In summary…Hotels.Com inflate their hotel rates. I discovered that they had inflated our 3 night hotel stay by 18.3%. They also lie, I would not advise using them, do your research first, lesson learned for me. Will not be using again. They also lie stating that they tried to call the hotel 3 times to confirm the rates and each time there was no answer. LIES.

Warning

Warning - don’t use hotels.com. I have made a booking change and when arriving at the hotel, the booking had not been made at all. Even though I had an email from the hotels.com team guaranteeing that I had the room booked, I still had to pay again so I would have a room for the night.Afterwards they committed with a refund that never came, and when I called they blamed on my bank (I live in Sweden) which obviously has nothing to do with it.Extremely disrespectful, they will pretend and promise the situation is solved until you realize they won’t fulfill the conditions that they themselves have commited to, even if it’s stated through email. They don’t care about the customers and are not afraid if you decide also to contact the authorities of your country to denounce them.Don’t use Hotels.com and avoid a lot of stress in your life.
